Chapter 81 - Chapter 79: Common Front 2.0, Now Sesshōmaru Joins!

Opening his absurdly enormous mouth, which is filled with pointed teeth and where he concentrates energy so intense that the air itself distorts, Ryukotsusei waits until his draconic breath is fully charged before attacking with all his fury.

The wait seems to have been worth every second, at least for him, since his lightning breath comes out with the force of a natural disaster, easily erasing everything in front of him from existence… Or perhaps not?

"Remember, both of you, heart and human face, attacking anything else is useless."

Easily escaping from that breath attack, it took far too long to gather energy for it to be something truly dangerous, Asahiko in his golden bird form speaks to his two albino passengers.

These are obviously Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru, who by the way do not even share a glance despite being together on Asahiko's back. I suppose we should at least be thankful that they are not stabbing each other in the back?

"I already managed to break the scales on his face earlier, act as distractions and I'll be able to finish him off with a single blow."

Imbuing Tokijin's blade with a deep bluish energy, Sesshōmaru smiles coldly and lets out words filled with arrogance, demonstrating blind confidence in his abilities.

"Who do you think you are, Sesshōmaru?! If I woke him from his slumber, I'll also put him back to sleep with my own hands!"

Growling like a dog that feels its territory threatened by a possible rival, although rather than territory it is possible prey, Inuyasha tightens his grip on Steel Fang's hilt and stares fixedly at his older brother.

"Nice words, Inuyasha. But let me remind you that it was Naraku who woke Ryukotsusei, so you can't deny anyone entry to this party."

"But I saw him first!"

"And yet you haven't managed to end his life in all this time, you're as disappointing as always."

"Shut up, I was just letting him show all his power so I could defeat him at his full splendor!"

"Alright, alright, since you both have so much confidence… Let's do it!"

Folding his golden wings and rotating his entire bird body, Asahiko drops the group of albino brothers onto Ryukotsusei before returning to his human form, thus falling behind them as well.

"Asahikoooo! Agh, what the hell are you-"

"Stop shouting and make yourself useful, Inuyasha."

Fixing his falling posture thanks to a certain bit of help, he used Inuyasha's back as a platform, Sesshōmaru slashes forward and a fierce bluish crescent moon flies toward the dragon's head.

The latter awakens Inuyasha's competitive instincts, besides the fact that he is angry about having been kicked, so he redirects all those emotions into his next attack.

"You two are such… Biting wind!"

"Hahaha, that's the spirit!"

Following the competitive spirit of his two companions, Asahiko lets out a loud laugh at Inuyasha's self-control and quickly makes a slash toward the beast in front of him as well.

Such an attack is obviously an intense red color, an effect caused by channeling the energy through Clouded Fang, but that does not prevent it from merging with the others to unleash astonishing power.

*¡Booooom!*

Striking Ryukotsusei's still arrogant face head-on, apparently he really thought his extremely slow breath had accomplished something, the trio's combined attack makes the enormous and imposing dragon scream in pain.

But why in pain and not anger? Because the attack had caused him damage, and not just a few cracked scales, but some were completely ripped off and even one of his noble horns was cut off.

Yes, now his face/head is no different from a monstrosity of mangled flesh, along with fallen scales and a single horn barely remaining attached, but… Does he seem to be regenerating?

"DAMN SONS OF INU NO TAISHO, DIE ALREADY!"

Forcibly raising the upper part of his serpentine body, the area that was recently struck, Ryukotsusei opens his enormous mouth and releases a weak breath of sharp winds toward the trio.

"Wow, how dangerous~. Everyone behind me, guys~"

Creating a shield of semi-solid golden flames, an oval one rather than a flat one so as to redirect the impact of the winds much more easily, Asahiko positions himself at the front of the trio's formation while the other two position themselves behind him.

That continues until they reach Ryukotsusei's face, at which point Asahiko closes the dragon's mouth by striking it with the shield and both albino brothers take advantage of his back to use it as a trampoline.

One of them jumps toward the head in search of the human face, while the other launches himself toward the serpentine body in search of the heart, unexpectedly following Asahiko's words.

"Agh… ENOUGH ALREADY!"

Managing to break free from Asahiko's iron grip over his mouth, Ryukotsusei lets out a furious scream upon noticing how the other two run across his body, but more than that frightened, and does not hesitate to resort to another one of his secret cards.

Which is the complete opposite of last time, absorbing the storm created by him into his interior, but now he begins rapidly expelling it from all his pores in an extremely pressurized manner, thus expelling all the unpleasant guests on his body.

Although his actions do not end there, since before the storm can naturally expand toward the surroundings, the dragon now with a reduced size bites his tail and begins spinning around himself Ouroboros-style.

"Hey, is that a damn tornado?"

"What a crude and primitive technique."

"I think… I can feel something from that."

Muttering quietly while observing the enormous cataclysmic tornado connecting the earth with the sky, Inuyasha narrows his amber-colored eyes upon momentarily noticing the "wound of the wind," the place where his energy and the enemy's come into contact.

Feeling this "wound of the wind" is the step before being able to unleash the Wind Scar technique, although now he could notice something more powerful under the same model, like a completely new technique!

"Not everyone can be as elegant as the two of us, Sesshōmaru. Besides, it's not like he can do much, just look at his body shape."

"It's true, a mistake like him… It's already too much that he's last this long."

"Yeah, tha-. What's wrong with you, Inuyasha? You're way too quiet."

Looking away from that tornado that had already ripped pillars from the ground, rocks from the mountain, and even dispersed the real clouds in the sky, Asahiko hits Inuyasha's "sleeping" face with a stone.

It was no time to have his head in the clouds, a natural disaster of insane proportions was coming toward them and he was still muttering quietly, just a little respect for… Oh, no, it's a protagonist moment!

"It's just… I can feel something. It's an itch in my hands, like-"

"Wow, who would've thought your protagonist's aura could also provide solutions, Inuyasha. Alright, so what do you have for us?"

"I don't know, I can notice something different hidden in the 'wound of the wind,' but-"

"Tsk, how can you always be so useless, Inuyasha? It's truly a complete waste for Steel Fang to remain in your hands."

Unexpectedly clicking his tongue at the ineptitude demonstrated by his younger brother, Sesshōmaru instantly regains his immovable regal style and launches a powerful blue trail toward the tornado with just a movement of his sword.

Obviously such an attack was composed of Sesshōmaru's Ken'atsu/sword aura, unleashing astonishing power upon striking the surface of the tornado, although it fails to have any real effect in redirecting its direction or even reducing its speed.

"Calm down, calm down, first let's finish off the dragon once and for all and then we can… Cough, you two can fight each other."

"Grr, there's nothing I want more!"

"Looks like I'll have to teach you your place again, Inuyasha."

Their gazes crossing for a few seconds, more than enough time for a metaphorical bolt of lightning to crash between them, both albinos momentarily set aside their aggression when everyone is forced to escape toward another pillar.

Mainly because Ryukotsusei had been going after them the entire time, with much more anger after Sesshōmaru's attack, so they had no choice but to move toward another pillar.

"Saya, Souga, do either of you have any idea what Inuyasha is feeling?"

[Hahaha, of course I know, but… Why would I help Inu no Taisho's sons survive?]

"You don't need to ask Souga about this, because I also know what he's talking about and it's one of Steel Fang's strongest techniques! Eh, why are you looking at me like that?"

["Tsk, filthy traitor."] x2

Both looking at Saya with a chilling gaze, mainly Asahiko because Souga is inside his seal, these latter two reach an obvious conclusion; Once on the dogs' side, always on the dogs' side!

"Psst, Sesshōmaru, has he gone crazy?"

"Be quiet, it's important information."

"What do you mean-Agh, why are you throwing it at me?!"

"That traitorous spirit is your new master, Inuyasha. Alright, jokes aside, we'll buy time until you can unleash that new protagonist power."

Losing control with his last words, making him sound a little resentful, Asahiko looks away from Saya and Inuyasha before turning toward the tornado coming back toward them. God, doesn't he know when to give up?

…Off-scene…

Barely escaping the lightning bolts falling like rain, the winds tearing apart the earth, and the occasional stray attack, the group made up of Inuyasha's friends begins to doubt their choice.

Everything happening here looks like the prelude to the end of the world! Whether it's the giant dragon hundreds of meters long, the clearly murderous weather, or the stray attacks, everything looks like something you could see in an end-of-the-world movie!

"I told you, I told you and you didn't believe me! This isn't a place where we can come fooling around, it's a battlefield beyond our capabilities!"

"The old man has gone crazy again, Miroku."

"You know what to do, Shippo. Just put the gag back on him, and this time don't hesitate… I think as a Hanyo he won't die from lack of oxygen."

"No, wait a-Aghe."

Being silenced once again by a piece of cloth, Totosai desperately looks around. It's obvious these idiots don't understand the danger they're in, their friendship has blinded them, turned them into a group of-.

"Let him go, Shippo. He… He's right, we can't participate in this fight, the best thing we can do for Inuyasha is stay away."

"But Kagome!"

"Did you just answer Her Excellency back?"

"He certainly did, Sango."

Looking at each other before looking at Shippo, who doesn't seem to understand the situation, both Sango and Miroku gesture toward Kagome, but the little one doesn't seem to understand.

"So now you're contradicting me… Shippo?"

"Ka, Kagome?"

"A whole week without potato chips will teach you."

"NOOOO!"

Grabbing his heart dramatically, something perhaps learned from living with Asahiko for a few days, Shippo manages to create a small illusion of a ghost coming out of his mouth.
