CHAPTER FIVE

The Royal Wedding

Today was my wedding day.

I still couldn't believe it.

I was getting married to Prince Nathan.

The entire kingdom was filled with excitement. It wasn't an ordinary wedding. It was a royal wedding, and everyone seemed to be talking about it.

Inside my room, several people were helping me get ready.

But there was one thing that was more important to me than anything else.

My mother's wedding dress.

The dress had been carefully preserved for years. My father had kept it safely because it belonged to my mother, and today, I was finally going to wear it.

When I saw it, I couldn't help but smile.

It was very beautiful.

I carefully put it on, and the moment I looked into the mirror, I couldn't believe what I saw.

The dress suited me perfectly.

It made me look like a true princess.

My long hair was beautifully styled, and my makeup was simple but elegant. A delicate veil rested over my head, completing the look.

I stared at myself in the mirror.

For a moment, I wished my mother were here to see me.

"Mom," I whispered softly.

I touched the dress gently.

"I hope I'm making you proud."

A few minutes later, my father entered the room.

He stopped when he saw me.

His eyes immediately became emotional.

"You look just like your mother," he said softly.

I smiled.

"Really?"

He nodded.

"Very much."

He walked toward me and gently adjusted my veil.

"She would have been very happy to see you today."

I smiled, trying not to cry.

"I wish she was here."

My father pulled me into a warm hug.

"I know, my dear."

After a few moments, it was finally time.

The royal wedding ceremony was about to begin.

Outside, the kingdom was filled with people.

The royal palace had been beautifully decorated. Flowers covered the entrance, and the long pathway leading to the ceremony was decorated with beautiful arrangements.

Royal guards stood on both sides of the pathway.

Guests from different parts of the kingdom had arrived for the occasion.

The sound of music filled the air as everyone waited for the bride.

Inside the grand hall, Nathan stood at the altar.

He looked incredibly handsome in his royal wedding attire.

His expression was calm, but deep down, he was nervous.

Then the doors opened.

Everyone turned around.

And there I was.

I slowly walked into the hall with my father beside me.

The entire place became silent.

Nathan looked at me.

For a moment, he couldn't take his eyes away.

The wedding dress suited me perfectly, and the veil made me look like a true princess.

Nathan smiled.

I could see the happiness in his eyes.

As we walked closer to him, my father gently placed my hand in Nathan's.

He looked at Nathan seriously.

"Take care of my daughter."

Nathan nodded.

"I will."

My father stepped away.

I stood beside Nathan.

He leaned closer to me.

"You look beautiful."

I smiled shyly.

"Thank you."

The ceremony began.

The royal priest spoke about marriage, love, trust, and commitment.

I listened carefully.

Then it was time for our vows.

Nathan looked into my eyes.

"Mia, I promise to stand beside you and protect you. I promise to respect you and to always be there for you."

I looked at him.

Then it was my turn.

"I promise to stand beside you and respect you. I will do my best to make this marriage work."

The priest smiled.

"Do you, Prince Nathan, take Mia Wilson as your wife?"

"I do."

The priest turned toward me.

"Do you, Mia Wilson, take Prince Nathan as your husband?"

I took a deep breath.

"I do."

The crowd smiled.

The priest then announced the words everyone had been waiting to hear.

"By the authority given to me, I now pronounce you husband and wife."

Everyone applauded.

Nathan gently lifted my veil.

We looked at each other.

Then he leaned forward and kissed me.

The entire hall erupted in cheers.

When we pulled apart, I couldn't help but smile.

I was now married to Prince Nathan.

The wedding celebrations continued afterward.

There was music, dancing, food, and laughter.

People congratulated us as we walked through the royal palace together.

For the first time in a long while, I felt peaceful.

I looked down at my mother's wedding dress.

The same dress she had worn on her wedding day had now become part of mine.

I smiled softly.

Maybe this was where my own story was beginning.

And as Nathan took my hand, we walked together through the celebration as husband and wife.
