Inside, Helios stood by the glass wall, his eyes fixed on the car below. He knew she was inside, but he couldn't understand why she hadn't stepped out yet. Was she still upset about their conversation that morning? He knew he had been wrong to ask that of her, but he'd rather she be angry with him than risk hurting her himself.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, he shook his head.
Should he go to her and bring her inside? The thought left him conflicted. He paced back and forth for a few moments before coming to a halt.
Why am I so uncertain now? he wondered.
A knock at the door pulled him from his thoughts, but he wasn't in the mood for company—unless it was her—his woman.
