"Uh, Captain, this is the man here," said the guard in an awkward manner.
There was a small group of guards gathered by the city gates, all of them strangely looking at Adam, who stood by his stallion, gently patting him.
The captain of the guards, a Mana Liquefaction Magus, wore white robes that had the insignia of a five-petaled plum blossom flower emblazoned on them.
This middle-aged man sported a neatly-trimmed beard and had tied his long brown hair into a top knot. He gazed at Adam with a deep frown.
"So, he's a mute?" He asked.
"Uhm, yes." The other guard nodded. "He also seems to be blind, captain."
The frown on the captain's face deepened. "Hey, you!"
Adam tilted his head. "Auh?"
"Yes, you!" The captain walked towards him, an intimidating expression on his face. "Undo that cloth on your head. Let me see your face."
