Crack!
Adam snapped a bandit's neck in two, then tossed him to the side.
"That's strange," he murmured. "It's not even funny anymore."
All around him, there were over a dozen corpses strewn. This group of bandits had ambushed him, but in the end, they had met their doom.
These men were all at the Mana Liquefaction Rank. That was why they were so confident in taking down Adam, who was one rank above them.
"Gege? Gege?" The mimic strapped to the youth's back chirped eagerly.
"Huh?" Adam turned his head in a daze, then unstrapped the rucksack bag before tossing it behind him. "Yeah, go ahead. You know the drill. Eat the corpse, store the money."
"Gege! Gege!" The mimic happily obliged.
A dirt road cut through the land, with a dense forest on one side and yellow grasslands on the other. Adam walked to a nearby boulder and sat down, his senses fixed on the corpses scattered along the path.
