After yet another day of training, Adam left the Rabbit Hole around sunset and began walking home.
The streets were bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. The evening crowd filled the streets. The aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted meat drifted in the air from nearby stalls.
Adam barely even noticed it. His entire body ached from training, and his mind was swirling with countless thoughts.
The conspiracy that he had been trying to decode before the Red Gala still bothered him. There were too many unanswered questions, too many loose ends.
The more he learned, the more complicated the whole affair seemed. Especially since the night of the massacre.
And then there was the item the Night Guild had been searching for. The item connected to Leto Morgan and Havel Norwood.
What exactly is it?
Was Nigel's coup simply an act of revenge?
Or had he been after that item all along?
Are the two connected in ways I cannot yet understand?
