"You can't deny me anymore, Diane." Tomas says, with all the gravitas of a man declaring some sort of epic proclamation. "It's been too long since I've eaten good food."
It's been two days. Assuming he counts the inn as 'good food'.
I stare at him.
"You're not getting my sandwich. Scrounge something together yourself." I say.
"Come on! Yours is obviously way better! There ain't no way for me to have cooked meat but you got it!!"
I stare at him.
Does he think I have a secret technique to cook meat in a wooden cart full of people...?
Well, I suppose it's not too ridiculous. He's not familiar with Celeste. If he even knows she's a wizardess at all he likely has no idea what that means she can do.
But I'm not giving up my food.
Celeste made it for me, after all.
I cross my legs and lean back against the wall.
And take a bite of the food. Deliberately.
Tomas scowls at me. "You bitch."
