Noor arrived just as the ambulance was called.
"Aleezeh!"
Aleezeh couldn't speak.
She pointed toward her phone.
The video had been uploaded.
Noor's brother had done it.
Noor confronted him.
"How could you?"
He tried to explain.
She didn't listen.
"Enough!"
At the hospital, Aleezeh sat beside her mother.
"Please, Ammi. Please be okay."
Her aunt arrived with Hassan.
Everyone waited outside the emergency room.
Finally, the doctor came.
He lowered his eyes.
"I am sorry."
Aleezeh immediately understood.
"No…"
Her aunt held her.
Her mother had passed away.
Aleezeh felt as though the world had disappeared.
Before her mother died, she had left one final request with her family.
She wanted Aleezeh to have a future with Hassan because she believed he would protect her.
But Aleezeh wasn't thinking about marriage.
She was thinking about the fact that her mother was gone.
The funeral was held a short time later.
Aleezeh couldn't accept it.
She cried beside her mother until she had no strength left.
Arslan came to offer his condolences.
"I'm sorry."
Aleezeh looked at him.
"Are you happy now?"
"No."
"Then leave."
Hassan stepped between them.
"Go."
Arslan left.
Later, Hassan sat beside Aleezeh.
"I know nothing I say can make this easier."
"Then don't say anything."
He nodded.
"I'll stay nearby."
Aleezeh looked at him.
"Thank you."
That night, she finally understood that her life would never be the same.
