Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Deathly Hallows

Voldemort went into another room, leaving Harry alone with his disturbing thoughts.

After entering the room, Barty Crouch Jr stood revealed in his true form. The Polyjuice Potion's effects had waned, unveiling the long and pale figure that was previously hidden as Mad-Eye Moody.

"Ah, Barty, my faithful servant. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed," Voldemort praised. "You have served me well in infiltrating Hogwarts, and your role in manipulating the Triwizard Tournament has set the stage for greater things. You have brought me the boy Harry Potter and followed each of my orders afterward. I hope you have successfully obtained the item that I have inquired about."

Barty Crouch Jr, kneeling before his master, offered a humble acknowledgment. "My Lord, I live to serve your greatness".

Barty Crouch Jr, reaching into the folds of his robe, retrieved an object wrapped in the dark fabric. Unveiling it, Barty Crouch Jr presented Voldemort with the legendary Invisibility Cloak.

Voldemort, extending his skeletal hand to accept the item, admired the cloak with a measured gaze. He held the cloak in one hand and gazed at the ring on his finger.

"In such little time, I have acquired two of the Deathly Hallows. Even though the cloak is not truly mine right now," thought Voldemort, "I will need to find a way for Harry to give it to me".

Unlike the Resurrection Stone, the Invisibility Cloak would not display its full ability unless the person using it was the real owner. Right now, it was Harry Potter who was the owner of the cloak, and only if he passed it on to Voldemort would the dark Lord be able to fully master it.

The only Deathly Hallows that Lord Voldemort was currently missing were the Elder wand, also known as the "Deathstick" and the "Wand of Destiny". It was considered the most powerful wand ever made.

As for the Elder Wand, it gave its loyalty to whoever could win it from its previous master. One simply had to disarm the master of the Wand, either by knocking it out of their hand with a spell or simply grabbing it out of their hand.

Among the three, the possession of the Elder Wand was going to be the most difficult for Lord Voldemort to acquire, as the current owner was none other than Albus Dumbledore.

Still kneeling, Barty Jr watched as Voldemort kept analysing the invisible cloak. Barty Crouch Jr had many questions in his mind; why did the Lord request this specific Invisibility cloak when there were others on sale, why did his lord not kill the boy and instead feed him, and why did his lord ask him to come silently and not to cast the spell Morsmordre when the body of Cedric appeared at Hogwarts.

Morsmordre was the incantation of a dark charm used to conjure the image of the Dark Mark, the skull-and-serpent sign used by Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters, in the sky. It was the same symbol as found on the arms of Death Eaters. After a murder, the Death Eaters cast the spell in order to both claim credit for the attack and to further terrify the wizarding community.

Similar to the dark mark, Lord Voldemort had personally created the spell.

He wanted to ask those questions, but thought that it was too much to question the dark Lord.

Instead, he decided to inquire about a situation. "My Lord, why have you not summoned back all the Death Eaters?

The world, especially his loyal followers, should know about his return.

Voldemort, his elongated fingers caressing the fabric of the cloak, considered Barty Jr's inquiry. "Patience, my loyal servant. The wizarding world remains oblivious to my return, and our enemies are yet unsure of the imminent threat. I will soon gather back all my servants. On top of that, my goal is not limited like last time. This time, I will make sure to create the true pure wizard world, and it shall remain until the end of time."

"On top of that, there is a double agent among the Death Eaters who will spy on us and report back to the other party." On hearing Lord Voldemort's words, Barty Crouch Jr.'s eyes expanded with fury.

"WHO DARES?" shouted Barty Jr, "Just tell me, my Lord, and I will bring his dead body to you."

"Loyalty, Barty, is a trait I value above all. But death will be too easy for such a traitor. I will make good use of him. You, on the other side, have proven yourself as one of my most loyal servants."

Barty Crouch Jr's chest swelled with pride at the Dark Lord's approval.

"You and I have much in common," said Voldemort as he knew from the memories he got what Barty Jr wanted to hear, " Both of us, for instance, had very disappointing fathers... very disappointing indeed. Both of us suffered the indignity of being named after those fathers. And both of us had the pleasure... the very great pleasure... of killing our

fathers to ensure the continued rise of the Dark Order."

Barty Jr could not stop the twisted grin forming on his face. He inclined his head in deference. "Thank you, my Lord. I am honoured to serve you."

The dark Lord Voldemort stopped talking and began to think. Voldemort knew that with the new memories that he got, he had a very immense advantage. Yet, he did not let such an advantage get over his head.

After assimilating the new memories, Voldemort underwent a change. He changed from a mad, evil lord to an evil, cold, calculated wizard. He knew that every step he was taking would diverge from the real-life event that was supposed to happen.

After the dark Lord gave some thought, he addressed Barty Jr, "Listen to me carefully, Barty, for I have a mission that I need a loyal one. One that you are. I need you to go somewhere for a long time and remain hidden there."
