No matter how many times I tried, my confidence that Avery wouldn't convey our recent findings to Sage remains frail. The boy worships his mother and after the tragedy of Ambrose, one can say that Sage, in turn, learned to worship my mother.
Should a word of it reach her ear, I can be sure Erolina has also heard of it. Then again, Avery kept the manner of the donation to the orphanage a secret so perhaps hoping isn't as futile as my own mind makes it out to be.
