The party was in full swing, but the mood had shifted. The men, still gathered around the fire, began to grow quieter as they shared a few drinks. The laughter faded, replaced by a sense of reverence, a shared understanding of the battles they had fought and the sacrifices made.
Jonathan, who had been the loudest voice just moments before, stood up and raised his cup high, his voice steady but filled with pride.
