There was no denying that while the Predatory Star was powerful, its starship functions were frustratingly simplistic.
Perhaps it was because all its capabilities were concentrated in the Celestial Vanguard and the central control core, the Voidcell.
As a vessel, the starship itself only possessed the most basic mobility functions, it couldn't even control its descent within an atmosphere.
At the final moment of landing, in order to avoid massive destruction and drawing too much attention, Alaric was forced to cast an immensely powerful anti-gravity spell on it.
Only then was a nuclear explosion-like impact averted.
Even so, the descending starship was like a giant bomb, causing a tremendous boom, shaking the very earth.
It landed in a forest.
Upon impact, the starship gouged a massive crater into the ground.
The shockwave and intense heat obliterated everything within a hundred meters, and even the trees further out were knocked askew. Many of them caught fire.
Countless birds and beasts were startled and fled in all directions.
It took quite a while before Alaric stumbled out of the starship in a daze.
The moment he emerged, the "Protect Against Fire Element Damage" enchantment he'd placed on himself was triggered by the ambient heat, giving him a jolt.
As expected, this damn starship had no redeeming qualities aside from being durable.
Thinking this, he shrank the ship down slightly and stuffed it into his dragonskin pouch, then began inspecting the surroundings.
A giant crater. Fallen trees. Raging flames.
There was no sign of human presence. Was it because Earth was still in a primitive era, before the rise of humankind? Or simply because he had landed in a remote wilderness?
But that wasn't the immediate concern.
"Hmm, this won't do. If I don't handle it properly, it'll cause a forest fire."
Without hesitation, Alaric prioritized putting out the fire.
Summoning a few water elementals would have been the best solution, but in the Nasuverse, elemental planes didn't exist, so that shortcut wasn't an option.
In this situation, what was the most efficient spell?
Alaric connected his consciousness to the atmosphere and began casting.
7th-Level Spell, "Control Weather!"
Though it required considerable preparation time and consumed a great deal of energy, its range and duration far surpassed other spells of the same level.
Moreover, perhaps due to being in the Age of the Gods, Alaric could distinctly sense the air was saturated with "Mana", or rather, True Ether.
To Alaric, it felt like he was standing near a magical network core akin to the Well of Eternity or the Sunwell, with a constant supply of abundant energy that made spellcasting significantly easier.
As the "Control Weather" spell activated, the once-clear sky swiftly changed.
Within several kilometers, dark clouds rapidly gathered, shrouding the sun.
But beyond that radius, the sky remained untouched, bright and clear as if belonging to another realm.
About five minutes later, the clouds reached their limit and could hold no more. Rain began to fall in scattered drops, but in an instant, it became a torrential downpour.
The burning trees were gradually extinguished by the sudden deluge, leaving only thick smoke in their wake.
The superheated ground where the starship had landed cooled rapidly under the rain's embrace.
The rain soaked the earth and drenched the forest.
Amid the clearing created by the starship's crash, only Alaric stood alone, clad in a white robe. The rain, as if consciously avoiding him, left not a single drop upon his body.
After more than ten minutes, the downpour ceased, the clouds dispersed, and the sky cleared, as if nothing had ever happened.
Only the damp soil and smoldering, charred trees bore witness to the earlier atmospheric upheaval.
Satisfied with his work, Alaric prepared to leave.
Suddenly, a curious female voice rang out beside him.
"How did you do that?"
"Wh-What?"
The unexpected voice startled him, and he immediately went on high alert.
Even though the voice was ethereal and pleasant, devoid of any hostility, carrying only pure curiosity.
But in the Nasuverse, even though Alaric possessed draconic power and magic unfamiliar to this world, he remained vigilant.
Because this world had far too many powerful beings, especially in this era.
In World of Warcraft, the most powerful beings were the Titans and Void Lords, entities capable of reshaping or obliterating planetary surfaces at will.
The Titans were originally planetary world-souls, and this world had similar beings, the UOs (Ultimate Ones), or Aristoteles.
These were the strongest lifeforms native to each celestial body. A single one could potentially wipe out all existing life on a planet.
This world also had Predatory Stars, each of which released Celestial Vanguards capable of annihilating planetary civilizations.
Not to mention the gods of myth, Heroic Spirits, True Ancestors, and other chaotic, overpowering entities, none of them were easy to deal with.
So to avoid accidents, Alaric constantly used magic for detection and maintained defensive wards.
Yet, neither his own senses nor his detection or alarm spells had registered the presence of the voice's owner.
He had no idea how she'd approached him unnoticed.
This alone left Alaric deeply shocked.
He was certain that if she hadn't spoken and had instead launched a surprise attack, he would've likely been injured.
Still, Alaric had been through a lot. His heart was strong enough to stay calm.
Though surprised inside, his face remained composed. He shifted his stance slightly and turned to face the source of the voice.
It was a girl who appeared to be in her early teens.
Tall, nearly matching Alaric in height, her figure was graceful and athletic, yet carried a voluptuousness unbecoming of a young girl, enough to make someone like Attila weep in envy.
She had snow-white skin and wore a pristine white robe. Her waist-length curly white hair danced in the wind, and her eyes matched her hair in both hue and the faint glow they emitted.
At first glance, she seemed like a cold and distant maiden, exuding an indescribable sense of nobility and sanctity, yet also carrying an alluring wildness.
If she could be described in one phrase, it would be: a girl like moonlight.
Alaric was momentarily dazed.
But it wasn't her beauty that entranced him, though such inhuman beauty did stir something in him, it was the aura around her.
A sense of sublimity, of detachment from all things.
It felt… divine.
"Could she actually be… a goddess?"
