Chapter 29 - A future of monsters

The monster Mercure called out to the others:

> "For centuries, we have learned from the monster Magis.

He can take on many shapes, keep his strength and agility, vanish when he wishes, and appear only when it is time to trap his prey.

He pretends to be gentle and kind—sometimes even appearing human—yet in truth, he is the ally of the dragon monster."

Then Mercure turned toward him and said:

> "O monster Magis, come and sit upon the king's chair. I am at your service."

Magis laughed, his voice low and mocking:

> "I am but a small monster, no larger than a cat. If I sit on that chair, it will feel as though I am at the bottom of a deep well.

Remember, even the leader of the dinosaurs could not hold his ground for long.

Do not concern yourself with me—I will leave whenever I wish.

> Perhaps one day, they will trap their hands in small boxes and play with us as they please.

We will live among them for years, watching them closely. Even their children will play and wrestle with us, for we will exist within the images and characters they follow.

> We will bend the minds of their soldiers, make them kill their own kind while others watch in silence.

We will tear apart their peace, and they will search desperately for the key to save their world… but by then, it will already be lost."

Mercure spoke again:

> "But their intelligence surpasses ours. They will create great inventions and build advanced homes—each one locked with a key."

Magis smirked:

> "Their keys are scattered. They do not know how to hold them together.

Since their beginning, they have suspected and discriminated against one another.

They fight over soil and wealth. They invade, betray, and destroy.

> A time will come when we, the monsters, will be seen as angels… and they will be the monsters."

Mercure grinned:

> "Good… you have a vision for the future. We will fight beside you if you call upon us."

Magis replied:

> "Perhaps the monster Kraken will summon you when his rest is over.

Then the monsters will gather, the dragon will appear as our leader, and we will invade them.

We will take whatever keys remain, seize their treasures, crush them, and fill their cities with our kind."

The monsters roared in unison:

"Long live Magis! Long live Magis!"

Mercure leaned forward and said:

> "Now… finish your story."
