Chapter 20 - Leaving the castle

Normal life had returned to the castle.

Myrta was far outside the castle, sitting beneath a tall tree, remembering her father, King Theoga, and crying as she said:

"Dad left me alone.

You left your keys and went away.

Monsters are lurking around, wanting to take our treasures.

Dad, I can't stand staying in the castle.

Come, monsters, live in the castle.

The keys are lost.

Dad left me alone.

I have nothing but my tears, they water the tree,

Helping it grow taller than the castle.

I will climb up and see you where you are.

I will visit you, tree."

Meanwhile, the warrior was searching for her in the castle and called out, "Myrta, where are you?" Then he shouted to the soldiers, "Have you seen Myrta?"

The soldiers replied, "She is near the tall tree. We are watching her from the fort."

The warrior left the castle and rushed toward the tree. He approached from behind it and saw Myrta sitting beneath the branches, crying and remembering her father.

The warrior appeared in front of her and gently held her hands, urging her to stand.

Myrta shook her head and said, "No… you are the monster wolf."

The warrior replied, "I am your lover."

Myrta whispered, "Wolves have sweet words."

The warrior said, "We will leave the castle and go to the village behind the mountain. We will build a hut to live in. We will leave everything in the castle and stay away from the monsters."

Myrta hesitated, "Indeed, warrior, but I said before that the monsters will remain among us. I fear they will follow us and live with us in the village."

The warrior smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry. As long as I live, no one will come near you. I will protect you. You are my key, you are my life."

Myrta stood up, smiling, and said, "Then you will marry me."

The warrior answered, "Yes. There in the village, we will be a family."

Together, the warrior and Myrta returned to the castle. In front of the door, soldiers were waiting for them. The warrior called out, "It is time to leave. Behind the mountain, we will build our village."
