The origins of Touno Island, dating back to its early days when the island had no name, revolve around a pair of sisters.
The elder sister, Amaterasu, was the sun; her light shone down on the earth, dispelling darkness, her warmth bringing smiles to the people.
Conversely, her younger sister, Tsukuyomi, was the moon; her light shone in the star-filled night sky, but it was cold, not noisy or joyful like the sun's light. Only a deep, sleeping silence remained.
Because her older sister was so admired, Tsukuyomi, instead of showing jealousy and rivalry, simply ignored her.
And then their quarrel began, the reason being Tsukuyomi's desire to leave.
"If they love you, then you should be the sun they love most. Why should I be here, superfluous?" - Tsukuyomi
"No, Tsukuyomi. You're important too." - Amaterasu
"Don't talk nonsense, Amaterasu. Nobody likes the night; they only like the sun. They prefer the warm sun to the cold moon like me." - Tsukuyomi
"Tsukuyomi, come back here!"
