Chapter 98 - Chapter 97

664 10/11 3:05 (Autumn, Day, Midrar)

Luna slipped beneath the punch launched by the suddently reappered Human, her own fist crashing into his stomach and sending him flying back just enough for her kick to smash into his chin, making him flip in mid-air and land hard on the ground.

Mark breathed out in pain, opening his eyes a little before they snapped open in alarm, seeing the red-eyed one above him with one of her legs raised up, preparing to heel kick him right in the chest.

Fortunately however, he was saved by Flux interfering by sending a jet of Purification-enhanced water, forcing her to halt her assault just long enough for him to retreat further away from the Lunarian, electricity flaring around him before striking towards his hated enemy.

Luna danced around both his own and the lances of water sent by the Spirit, her Aura enveloped in shadows experimentally batting away the water and in this way confirming the nature of its effects.

The Composite Attribute born from Holy and Light, the Purification-Attribute, and the Composite Attribute born from Curse and Dark, the Condemnation-Attribute, were equal and opposite Attributes, being defined by the same effect of respectively dissolving and eroding an object, the only difference between the two being that one was better against Targets with high Affinity for the Curse- or Dark-Attributes while the other was the opposite with a better effect against Targets with high Affinity for the Holy- or Light-Attributes.

And combined with its Anti-Luna effect, said Target was more than willing to Channel her Counterspell in her Aura, condensing and lacing it together in her shadow coating, taking advantage of the fact that her control over shadows was not derived by the Dark-Attribute but was instead a natural ability, akin to a Phoenix's Pyrokinesis.

Her blades swung all around her, their three layers of Counterspell, shadows and Aura kept carefully separated while still being linked together, a way to fight against the Purification-infused water despite its proprierties.

Her three-layered blades swung, bisecting the glowing spheres of water launched by the Spirit as she adjusted to the way she was currently fighting.

*Luna's Innate Skill "Authority: Black Blood" D increases to C-Rank.

*Luna's Ability Skill "Counterspell" E increases to D-Rank.

And following this two messages, Luna shivered briefly, feeling her coursing blood heat up while her Aura and Vital Mana felt more dangerous than ever before, being fangs that briefly tried to devour her from the inside out before she dominated them, dispelling her two blades before remaking them at once.

Thanks to her new increases in the two Skills, her newest version was much simpler to make, Counterspell being passively infused within both her Vital Mana and Aura, while her Authority increased her control over her shadows, leading her to being able to advance towards her opponents with much higher ease than before thanks to the much lower amount of concentration involved with maintaining their presence.

Vital Mana started coating her weapons, taking advantage of its new proprieties to ignore the Purification-Attribute before she reconsidered.

"The reason I did not progress my Authorities until now… I see, because I always used blood and shadows together, I did not have enough proficiency without brute forcing my way through. In that case-" She confirmed aloud, her Vital Mana separating back into Vital Energy and Mana.

"[Reaping Moon]!" She used her Vital Energy and Mana together while still maintaining their separations thanks to her Aura's influence, the two Energies gringing against each other and in so doing creating a more unstable yet more dangerous version of her Art, the rippling wave of force cutting a wave right through the bullets sent by the Spirit.

And while their rain of Purification-infused water did eventually exhaust its Energy, her new function gained from Counterspell assured that her blow would maintain its own existence for a while longer, despite the Spirit's Anti-Luna Effect, Luna still was able to use the distraction caused by her attack to cross most of the distance to her opponents.

A morning star formed in her left hand before she swung it, Vital Energy and Mana soon colliding within it. "[Sunder]!" The weapon exploded, the wave of force that erupted from it crossing the rest of the gap between the two.

Flux's remaining water bullets crashed against the shockwave released by Luna, exploding into glowing droplets that pelted upon Mark and the Spirit both, their kinetic force as masses of water being completely overwhelmed by the Lunarian's Art, especially considering how it was able to dodge their Anti-Luna effect by being simply a wave of physical force.

The shockwave crashed against a wall of ice erected by Flux, the glowing wall lasting only for a single second before crumbling, just long enough for the wind to pass them by safely.

Water flowed around the Flowing Spirit, freezing briefly into sharp blades before they melted back down into glowing orbs that bombarded the general area before them, aiming at the suddently much closer Lunarian, forcibly slowing down her progress significantly.

Mark rushed in, dashing in between the raining bullets to meet the Lunarian in the middle, Joules managing the Lightning-Attribute flaring around him while the Human himself instead handled the Light-Attribute, condensing the two around his right fist.

Luna, seeing his movement, smiled wider, condensing her flowing blood and solidified shadows around her own right fist before moving to match his blow with her own.

The two fists smashed against each other, Luna's quickly proving to have a considerable advantage over her opponent thanks to her much higher physical abilities yet feeling her eyes widen in alarm as she felt her hands starting to dissolve under the effect of Flux's Purification-Attribute, leading her to observe how he created a wave of Shining Bolt, the Composite Attribute between the Light- and Lightning-Attributes, that connected him with the water projectiles sent by the Spirit.

And instead of the water conducting electricity, he used the water to conduct the Purification-Attribute through his lightning thanks to the presence of the Light-Attribute in both of them before it was then Channeled in his fist.

Mark's fist exploded in a wave of Purification, launching Luna's right fist away from the two of them and in this way opening her up for a second blow, the Purification-infused Lightning surrounding his other hand before piercing it right through the Lunarian's heart, impaling her and releasing a lightning bolt that blew up most of her chest.

The Lunarian's blood escaped her lips, her lips twisting in a grin as she grabbed the hand still within her body with her left hand, her lips widening even further as she pulled him in, her body around her body losing coesion and revealing itself to be just a mass of Black Blood that she used her Iridescent Blood Artifact to make it look like her physical body.

Blue eyes opened wide in alarm, feeling his arm being impaled in all sides, Luna's pale flesh of her right hand shifting to become a long, spiked whip that aimed on decapicating the Human with a single, merciless swing.

Mark jumped away, his eyes narrowed in pain and breathing deeply while holding his left arm, everything from his elbow down being now absent, the reason behind his freedom from Luna's hold, the rest of his arm being struck within her body, impaled in all sides by long nails of Black Blood.

"Y-you-!" Mark panted out, electricity flickering around his right hand, the same lightning that he used to cut off his own arm without hesitation, his eyes opened wide as they shined in hatred before focusing back on his enemy completely, counting on his own Spirit Partner to blunt his pain by manually controlling his nerve endings, a process that would be lethal in his current bodily conditions.

"Oh, don't worry. I am confirming that this is my real body. My Authority: Black Blood at C-Rank just let's me convert my body into Black Blood." She truthfully affirmed, casually leaving aside the very important fact that she could reform her body from her Black Blood alone, if she had enough of it stored safely.

"But I must offer my complements to you, your lack of hesitation on cutting off your own arm. But tell me, what do you plan on doing in the future? You do not have an healing Skill nor any Miasma to simulate it and if you do not restore that arm soon enough, you will never recover it." She casually asked, her eyes casually pointing towards the remain of his arm, noticing with curiosity the way that he, or more likely his Spirit, was currently in the process of charring its nerves and flesh to cauterize his wound together.

Luna's lips twisted further. "And considering the condition of your arm and the fact that you will not possess the original for it to be either reattached or to function as a model for a fleshcrafter to recreate… well, the fact that you gave up on it is evident, isn't it? What would be your plan to deal with it?" She asked, her curiosity flaring violently before it calmed down, the rest of his arm still within her body being pulled outside of her body and then gently posed on her shadow, quickly sinking into it.

"Well, let's just see first if you would survive long enough for it to matter." She affirmed calmly, her eyes opened wide and shining bright, a spear made of writhing blood forming in her hand, spikes of shadows erupting from it while her Aura surrounded it in a protective layer.

Meanwhile her three Mates were rapidly crossing the distance that separated them, a ticking timer nearing its conclusion.
