Mei awoke to the sound of bird songs outside her window, she stretched her arms and legs, savoring the feeling of a good night's sleep. But as she began to get ready for the day, her thought wandered to her training,she knew that today would be even more difficult then the previous days. She dressed and went to the training room, where here instructors were waiting for her.
"Today, we're going to test your skills", one of them said. Mei took a deep breath and prepared herself for the challenge ahead.
The first test was a simple one:a series of sparring matches against one of the other trainees. Mei faced her opponent, a young man who was tall and muscular,she knew that she would have to be quick and agile to beat him. The fight began,and the two of them circled each other, looking for an opening. Then the young man lunged at her, Mei ducked under his arm and struck him we with a quick jsb. He stumbled backwards, but recovered quickly. The two of them fought back and forth, each landing blows and dodging attacks. Finally, after a long and exhausting fight, Mei managed to knock her opponent to the ground, he conceded the match and Mei felt a surge of pride and refried. But she knew that they would be more test. The next challenge was even more difficult:a test of endurance. Mei was asked to run a series of laps around the training grounds, carrying a heavy pack on her back. She set off at a brisk pace, but the pack was heavier then she had expected and she soon beganto feel the stain. Her legs began to burn, and her breath came in gasps, she kept pushing herself through the pains.
Finally she complected the last lap and the training master called out, "Enough! She sank to the ground exhausted. "You have passed the test of endurance ". The training master said. 'Now will move on the test of skill.
