One day, Mei was walking through the palace garden when she noticed a strange symbol carved into one of the trees, she had never seen it before and it seemed to be some sort of code. She hurried back to her room and began to research it but she could find no mention of it anywhere. It was as if it was a secret that only those in the know could understand. As she continued to investigate the mysterious symbol, Mei began to notice other strange things happening around the palace. Doors would open and close on their own, object would move without explanation and eerie whisper could be heard in the halls at night. Mei was beginning to feel as if she was trapped in a living nightmare.
One night, as Mei was lying in bed trying to sleep, she heard a knock in her door. She sat up her heart pounding, she was sure she had locked the door but when she went to check, it was wide open. She stepped out in the hallway, and she saw a shadowy figure standing at the end of the corrider, it was tall and cloaked, and she could not make out it's face. "Who are you? She called out, her voice trembling. But there was no answer.
As the shadowy figure began to love toward her, Mei turned and ran back inside her room. She slammed the door and locked it, her hands trembling. But as she looked up, she saw that the figure was now standing in front of the window. It was looking at her it eyes glowing red, Mei let out a scream but no sound came out, she was frozen in terror.
And then, the figure began to fade away as if it had never been there.
