Vera Wave gazed intently into her eyes. "Are you really wrongly accused?"
Anabel Wilton scrutinized her. "Why…why are you asking this?"
"The person who wants to kill me, is it really Irene Spencer?" Vera asked again.
Anabel Wilton sneered coldly. "If I say so, will you believe it?"
"If what you're saying is true, I will try to find a way to help you out," said Vera.
"Just you?" Anabel Wilton laughed coldly. "A clay idol crossing a river can't even save itself. You can hardly protect yourself, let alone save me. If the Cooper family were truly all-powerful, would you have ended up in here?"
"If you don't want to talk, then forget about it. Don't regret it in the future."
Vera got up, walked over to her bed, pulled back the covers, and lay down.
