Raising her hand, she gently caressed his cheek, Vera spoke softly.
"It's okay, I've discussed it with Lawyer Mu before. After the court's verdict, I'll have Brother Andre help me get a certificate, and then get a medical parole. What does it matter if I'm guilty or not, as long as I regain my freedom, right?"
"Even so, you'll still have to stay in there for a month or two to complete the process," Kris Cooper frowned, "I still hope to get you acquitted."
"Kris!" Vera grabbed his shoulders, "This time, you can't be willful. Otherwise, if the case drags on, I might not get out for half a year. Okay? It's so boring inside, can you bear to see me stuck in there for another half-year?"
She shook his shoulders playfully.
"Brother Kris, will you promise me?" As the man hesitated, she leaned closer to his face, feigning anger, "Hmph, don't want me to get out early? Have you found another woman behind my back these days?"
