"Vera, come, come quickly!" Henry Cooper beckoned her from his bed. As Vera approached and sat down, he gently patted her shoulder. "I know everything now, and you mustn't feel pressured. This isn't your fault!"
"Mmm!" Vera nodded, holding back her tears. "Thank you, Grandfather!"
Tommy Taylor called, and Christoper Cooper rushed to Ashton to handle work. Bailey Hansen also received a call and hurried away.
Only Vera and Henry Cooper were left at home. Vera poured a glass of water for the old man. After Henry took a few sips, he patted her arm with a smile.
"You should go rest a while too. Grandpa's sleepy and wants to take a nap."
After helping the old man into bed and tucking him in, Vera watched as he gradually fell asleep. Only then did she quietly leave the room.
She went upstairs to the study, sat down in a chair, and propped her temples with her hand as she sank into deep thought.
