Chapter Two
Sofia Hamilton followed the address provided by the secretary and came to the hotel café.
But upon entering, she couldn't see Kris Shaw.
She sat by the window to wait.
The waiter brought the menu, and she ordered a glass of lemon water, "No sugar for me."
"That'll be very sour."
"I know."
"How about adding just a little bit?"
"No, thank you, I don't want any sugar."
She just suddenly felt like having something sour.
Perhaps because she ate too much before leaving, she felt a bit nauseous now.
The waiter finally gave up persuading her, nodded, and left.
Soon, a glass of pure lemon juice with no sugar was served. Just the smell was enough to make one's facial features scrunch up from the sourness, but she took a sip and found the taste just right.
She boredly sat for half an hour, unaware that Kris Shaw had been sitting at another table opposite her, pretending to read a newspaper, but in fact, watching her.
