Chapter 354 - 7-

Outside of the exam building, the examinees were gathered before several buses.

"Good luck, Izu-kins!" Himiko had glomped onto Izuku's front, excited to finally get into the 'fun' part of the entrance exams. She then grabbed onto Tsuyu. "Good luck, Tsu!"

"Good luck to you too, ribbit."

Tsuyu briefly hugged the blond girl before looking to her other friend.

"Good luck on the practical, Zuku." Himiko still held onto the froggy girl, rubbing her cheek against Tsuyu's.

"Right! Good luck to you two. I just know we're going to crush it!" Izuku raised his arm up in excitement, his hand clenched in a fist. "Let's go beyond, PLUS ULTRA!"

"Izu, ribbit. It looks like your bus is about to leave"

"GAH!"

Izuku stood before the large gates leading into his designated exam area. "Holy crap, the city must be huge if the gate to get in is that big. I can't even see where the wall begins to curve."

He moved his gaze as a familiar bob of brown hair crossed his peripheral vision. The girl who had saved him from falling was standing there, seemingly drawing something into the palm of her hand with a finger and simulated eating it.

"She must be nervous. I'll see if I can help her out, especially since she already helped me!"

He had started moving towards the young woman when he felt a hand be placed on his shoulder.

"Excuse me, what are you doing? I hope you are not looking to bother her while she prepares for the exam! That would be rather uncouth for heroes-to-be!"

Izuku turned his head and saw the same blue haired man who had called him out for his mumbling. His hand was chopping up and down like a robot with an axe for a hand. The green haired young man's face scrunched up in confusion.

"W-What? No! She looks nervous so I thought I would help her out! I met her on the way into the exam building and she helped me, so I wanted to return the favor."

The young man studied Izuku's gaze, seemingly looking for any form of deception. "Ah, I see! Apologies then. I will go back to my own preparations! Good luck with your performance in the exam!"

The blue haired young man stepped away from Izuku and started to do what looked like runners' exercises.

"Well, he was… intense."

Izuku continued towards the brunette woman.

Izuku raised his hand in a wave as he approached her. "Hey!"

"Ack!" The young woman whirled around at his call, shock clear on her face.

"A-ah, shoot. Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. It looked like you were nervous, so figured I would come over and help out."

The brunette seemed to calm down at his words. "O-oh. Yeah, I guess I am a bit nervous. M-my parents are really relying on me to get in, and I don't want to let them down…"

Izuku felt a smile on his face. "Looking to help your parents out by being a hero?"

"Y-yeah…" Her face turned downcast. "Their business isn't doing so great, so I wanted to become a hero, and earn enough money to make them comfortable and happy."

Izuku watched as the downcast look on her face transitioned to one of determination. She brought both hands up in fists.

"So I gotta do a great job here. Ah can't let 'em down." He watched as a look of horror grew. "Ah, shoot. Sorry about that, I let my accent slip. I've been trying to stop that…"

"Don't worry about it, it was kind of cute." Izuku's eyes widened.

"Crap, didn't mean to say that out loud!"

Izuku struggled to cover up his mistake, a blush growing on his face.

He didn't notice the other girl's blush marks grow from pink to a more prominent red, slowly spreading across her face.

"W-well, I just know you'll do a great job here. With your quirk, and that drive to help others, you'll crush it!"

His attempt at confidence seemed to do the trick. Her shoulder seemed to sag, some of the stress leaving her.

"T-thanks, I'll do my best. I'm sure you'll-"

"START!"

Her words were cut of as Present Mic called the start of the exam, the large doors opening to admit entry.

Izuku felt a grin grow on his face. He felt the call of the hunt ahead of him. He immediately started sprinting for the doors, the other examinees to startled by the abrupt start of the exam to follow.

He turned back to the brown haired woman, waving a hand to her. He called out, "Good luck!" before light enveloped him, a large green wolf taking his place. The form allowed swifter movement as he bolted into the city, looking for prey.

The voice of Present Mic could be heard on the intercom behind him.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL WAITING FOR?! THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS WHEN IT COMES TO FIGHTING VILLAINS! GO GO GO!"

Izuku had rounded a corner, far into the city to get the most points he could before the other people could catch up, when a large robot with the number 1 emblazoned on its side.

"Target sighted, commencing termination!"

As the robot rolled up to him, ready to crush him with its large arms, Izuku felt a fang-filled smile spread on his maw.

This feeling. Something about hunting these robots called to something in him that he hadn't realized had been dormant for so long.

The need to hunt. He'd indulged in bits of it when he was younger. Catching small animals like rabbits to eat whenever he had gone camping. His mother was squeamish about it at first, but something in Izuku had prevented him from ever worrying about it.

People ate animals all the time, after all. Cows, pigs, chicken just to name a few. Hunting for game out in the woods felt so much different though. It involved letting his more primal instincts drive him. To sneak up on prey, catching it unawares.

Something about this hunt, however, felt different. There would be no sneaking. No smaller prey. No predator vs. prey.

No, this would be a fight between predators. Something about that need to be the bigger predator got his blood pumping like it never had before.

Izuku relished the feeling as he dodged the arms of the large robot, leaping onto one of its legs and biting down on its head with crushing force.

As Izuku released the robot's head, feeling its form go limp, he lifted his large head towards the sky.

The howl he let loose had the windows around him on that street shuddering.

This? This was going to be fun.

In a different exam city, Himiko had just finished disabling her second robot. "Geez, it's a good thing Izu-kins showed me that bit about the off switch in the packet. It wouldn't be nearly as fun."

She looked down to the "knives" she held in her hands. The school had asked if they had preferred weapons or needed weapons for their quirks. When she mentioned that she liked knives, she was expecting to get something she could actually use.

What were provided to her were practically just two short metal sticks. Their edges were blunted "To prevent her from hurting herself or others", but they didn't do any damage to the robots.

"Totally uncute. What's the point of having stabbies, when they can't stab anything."

Himiko had moved off the robot, resigned to the difficulties of being unable to use her skill set when something in the air shifted.

Distantly, she could hear what she could have sworn was an animal howling. A familiar howl.

Himiko brought her hands up to her cheeks, a smile so wide it was practically ear to ear growing on her face. Her cheeks were so flushed that she looked almost drunk on whatever she was feeling.

"Oh my~! Is he finally letting loose? Unleash the beast, Izu-baby!" She shouted into the air. She started wiggling in excitement. "Then maybe later… You can unleash the beast on me~"

Elsewhere, in a dark room filled with people, a wall filled with monitors showed the exam sites.

"We've got a nice crop of students this year. It's got my blood pumping~"

"Down, woman. This isn't the time for that…"

"Oh, don't be such a buzz kill. Just look at the group we have this year. Haven't seen a group of examinees put in this level of effort in years! Mama like~"

"Her strange human proclivities aside, she is correct. They show incredible potential this year."

The strange being that spoke looked towards the screens on the wall.

"From incredible speed…"

One screen showed a blue haired young man with mufflers growing from his legs sprinting across the exam site, crushing robots as he went with powerful kicks.

"To incredible power…"

Another screen showed a blond haired young man running across part of his city, blowing apart everything in his path with explosions he released from the palms of his hands.

"Impressive control…"

A screen showed a young woman with a brown bob cut lifting robots into the air with a touch, before dropping them back down to the ground with a crash, having directed them away from any other examinees so they wouldn't be hurt.

"Even to fusing sheer animal instinct into the destructive force you humans do love to throw around..."

One screen showed a green furred wolf running between robots, tearing them apart. He dodged incoming robots and missiles with ease, showing a level of dexterity and situational awareness his grinning maw and raised hackles might imply had been left behind with his transformation.

"This will be an interesting crop of students to be sure."

To the side of the room, a skinny man with blond hair watched on of the screens.

"I'd almost think he had lost himself into that form, if he wasn't showing so much control. Aiming for weak points, but still watching out for attacks from his blind spots. It's incredible to watch. He's even watching out for his fellow examinees. What will you become by the end of your time here, Young Midoriya…"

A 1-pointer was destroyed as its arm was torn out of its socket and smashed into the face of a 2-pointer, disabling it.

A bipedal form bobbed and weaved through a hail of missiles and jabbed the claws of a furred hand into its head and ripped out enough internal parts to shut down the offending 3-pointer robot.

The grin on Izuku's face was large and filled with excitement. He had figured out how to extend his partial transformation to his arms only a few months before his training with All Might had ended, and was glad he was able to get the time to train it while he could.

He had spent most of the practical exam in his wolf form and had switched over what he assumed to be about a minute ago to get some real practice in with the form.

He had long since given up keeping track of his score. He was having too much fun indulging in that part of him that called for the hunt to continue. To find the next target to tear apart.

Izuku stood in the wreckage of his latest prey, panting heavily from the exertion from the exam. Around him lay the smoldering remains of a horde of robots that had found him after he helped another examinee by destroying a 2-pointer that had snuck up on them. The other examinee had escaped when the large group of robots had shown up.

Exhaustion had finally started to set in. While his training with All Might had Izuku burning energy in his transformed states to see if there were any time limits attached to them, he had never let loose like this before, and it was finally setting in.

His muscles were burning, his breath short, he could really go for a short nap. Or a snack. A nice juicy slab of steak sounded so nice right now. Or even a big bowl of his mother's Katsudon. Yeah, Katsudon sounded amazing right now-.

Izuku shook his head to clear his thoughts. Clearly his head was suffering from the lingering effects of the instincts his wolf form brought out of him.

"The exam isn't over, got to keep going." Izuku panted out.

Releasing the power in his arms, he squared his shoulders and started jogging into the city once more.

The exam had gone on long enough that many of the robots had already been destroyed and he had made sure that any robots near him were destroyed as he went on his rampage through the city.

"Maybe there are some left in the heart of the city-"

Izuku was interrupted when the ground beneath him started to rumble. Currently non-existent hackles on the back of his neck rose and he looked towards the far side of the city.

Buildings were crumbling as a large form rose from the ground. A robot larger than any building in the faux city rolled out of the cloud of debris made from the wreckage surrounding it.

"That's the Zero Pointer?! That thing is huge!" Izuku stared at the giant robot in shock. "Who in their not-right mind thought it was a good idea to throw thatat people fresh out of high school?!"

Present Mic's voice crackled from speakers spread throughout the exam site.

"YOU'VE GOT ONE MINUTE REMAINING. USE IT WISELY, LITTLE LISTENERS!"

Izuku ran out into the main street running from the entrance of the city straight towards where the Zero Pointer had appeared.

Other examinees were running away from the giant robot, clearly wanting nothing to do with that titanic roadblock. Even the blue haired young man who had yelled at him during the presentation was fleeing.

Izuku stood there, torn between running away with them, or testing his mettle against the giant robot. The thrill of the hunt was still thrumming in his blood, making it really hard to consider running away.

"Ow…"

All thoughts of the hunt were drained from him like a glacial shower pouring over him.

Down the street, towards the Zero Pointer, a familiar bob of brown hair was laying on the road. From where he stood he could barely make out that her legs were buried beneath some rubble. She was pinned at an awkward angle that made it difficult for her hands to reach.

In a flash of silver light, he was sprinting down the road in his wolf form, barreling right through any examinees that didn't have the bright idea to get out of the way.

Any thoughts of the exam or anyone being around him fled his thoughts as only a single thought flooded him.

"I have to save her!"

The Zero Pointer continued to roll down the street, destroying any buildings in its way. It even smashed buildings outside of its forward path, presumably aiming at other people trying to get away from the rolling mass of destruction.

Izuku finally got to the trapped woman as the Zero Pointer raised one of its ginormous arms. Poised to crash down and flatten them.

He looked between the rubble covering the brunette and the robot ready to end their potential careers, if not their lives, and made a decision.

The rubble would take too long to move, and he risked making any damage to her legs worse if he just grabbed her and started running.

Izuku met the scared woman's gaze with his own. The determination in his eyes must have been understood through his wolf's form, as the she seemed to calm some. Her struggles against the rocks slowed.

He strode forward, facing the zero pointer. He braced his claws against the crumbled street and breathed in. And continued to breath in. His chest expanded as he took in more air than his frame seemingly allowed.

He kept breathing in as the Zero Pointer brought its large hand down, digging deep for a familiar power. As he strained to hold in the massive inhalation, one thought crossed Izuku's mind.

"This is going to hurt."

Then he released the pent-up breath.

The howl that he let out deafened all other sound in the exam site, released directly into the oncoming fist.

Tsuyu hopped from building to building, another examinee wrapped in her tongue. She had found him unconscious near a pile of debris, part of a fallen building having landed on him, knocking him out.

She was heading towards the entrance of the exam site, looking to get him treated by a medic or taken to a nurse by a med-bot. Izuku had spoken at length about UA's medical care system, headed by an older heroine that he had gone an even longer rant talking about her exploits as a hero.

She was sure UA would have med-bots nearby for circumstances like the one she found herself in.

She felt the vibrations in the air before the sound hit her. Once it did, she stopped cold.

The howl she heard was familiar, but it was louder than she have ever heard it. Something about it made her stomach drop, like a boulder suddenly smashed through her insides.

"Zuku…"

Himiko was having a blast. Once she got into the rhythm, fighting the robots became fun!

She had used the crunched up metal of a robot she found to sharpen the dull blades she was given as best she could. After that, all it took was a cut wire here, a 'eye' there, and she was breezing through the robots.

She was resting in an alley, waiting for the countdown to finish as the Zero Pointer rampaged, when she heard the howl.

As the vibrations in the air rattled the windows nearby, all excitement drained from the blond girl.

"Izu-Kins…" Himiko muttered, raising a hand up to her throat. "Please be ok…"

In a dark room, the teachers watched the Zero Pointer bring its fist down on the two examinees. Panic was spreading through them.

"Maijima! Have you gotten it under control yet?!" The smallest form in the room shouted.

"Not yet, sir! I don't know how, but it's ignoring all of the failsafes and kill codes I installed into the thing, I can't get it to stop!" A man with orange hair spoke. He had what looked like the fusion of construction equipment and a dinosaur, looking like the open maw of some kind of robot over his head.

He was typing frantically at a computer console in front of him. Error screens flashed again and again as he typed commands.

The small form looked to his side, where a tall skeletal looking blond man stood. "It looks like we're going to need the big man on site-"

He cut himself off at the look in the large man's eyes.

A look of dawning horror.

And something told him it wasn't about the impending crash of the Zero Pointer's fist.

He looked back at the screen. Specifically, at the wolf standing stoically before the giant robot.

As he watched his torso continue to expand, it clicked. He slammed his hand down on a communicator nearby.

"Chiyo, your assistance is required at Exam Site B! Emergency aid will be required immediately!"

He was about to issue more commands when the screen, viewing the wolf and the giant robot, showed something that silenced everyone in the room.

The screen showed the green form releasing what appeared to be a sound wave into the Zero Pointer. The wave was so wide it seemingly covered the entirety of the large machine.

The Zero Pointer's hand smashed back, looking to have been crushed by the howl that started breaking every single microphone place in the exam site. As the howl continued, every single camera used to watch the exam vibrated, showing that the howl's vibrations had somehow reached to every single exam site in use, but their attention remained fixed on the screen showing Exam Site B's Zero Pointer.

As the Howl continued, the Zero Pointer seemed to fall apart as the howl vibrated it from the inside out.

Every form in the room watched as the hulking machine was destroyed by the examinee's attack.

All but two of them. The diminutive form that called for their on-site nurse and doctor watched the smaller form of the Wolf. Watching as the howls died down.

The other form watching the young examinee had already exited the room. Steam billowing in his wake.

"Please, Young Midoriya. Please be ok. Just hang on…"

Ochako Uraraka watch in awe as the wolf-man she had rescued from falling flat on his face, howl  up at the oncoming fist that would certainly spell their doom. She was deafened almost immediately; it was so loud.

She continued to watch from her place on the ground, covering her ears, as the Zero Pointer fell apart under the howls force. As the noise died down, she couldn't look away from the form of her savior. He stood there in the road, breathing heavily as he recovered from his show of force.

But then he started to cough, which turned to bloody hacking, which evolved to vomiting blood.

She watched on in horror as the green wolf fell to the ground, scrambling in panic as the torrents of blood fell from his maw.

She watch on in impotent dread, as the young man's struggles began to slow, likely drowning on his own blood.

Her attention only wavered when she felt a crash from nearby.

She turned to see-

"A-All Might?!"

Standing before her was the Number One hero. In his arms was diminutive older woman in a lab coat, a visor over her wrinkled eyes. She held a case about half her size in her arms.

All Might rushed over the downed wolf, carefully setting the old woman down near him. She quickly set the case down nearby, doing a quick examination of the downed wolf.

"You big OAF!" Ochako was startled by the glare the older woman leveled at the number one hero. "What have you been teaching him?! He tore his throat to shreds with that idiotic attack, and now he's drowning on his own blood!"

The old woman quickly popped open the nearby case, pulling out all kinds of tubing connected to a machine she couldn't identify. Her attention was redirected again when she felt the rubble covering her feet lifted away.

"Sorry, young lady. Let me remove this from you. How are your legs feeling? Any breaks?"

Her eyes boggled at the Number One Hero All Mightspeaking to her.

She saw the large man put a forced smile on his face. "They don't seem to be broken… give us one moment and we will get you sorted. Apologies for not getting you first, but Young Midoriya's injuries are far more severe and need immediate medical attention. Medical robots will be here shortly to get you sorted."

Ochako noticed that his gaze constantly shifted to her injured savior.

"Do they know eachother?"

She was still in shock over the whole event.

She barely registered robots coming by and loading her onto a gurney, transporting her from the exam site.

All she could do was watch as the nurse and Number One Hero try to save the life of the young man who had rescued her. She clenched a hand over her chest in worry.

She unfortunately did not hear a word the larger man had spoken, on account of the howl's volume having deafened her and everyone else in the exam site.

Izuku's eyes fluttered as consciousness slowly returned to him.

The first thing he saw was a white ceiling.

The first thing he heard was a rhythmic beeping from nearby.

The first thing he felt was a tube-like object shoved down his throat. He felt like he was choking, that he wasn't getting enough air when he breathed.

In a panic, he raised his hands and started scrabbling at his throat. He had just gotten a hold of the tube extending from his mouth when he heard a shout.

"Don't you dare pull that out!"

Izuku stilled, his hands freezing before he could remove the obstruction. He blinked rapidly, his awareness coming fully back as his eyes landed on a small figure standing on a stool near what was apparently a hospital bed. A bed that he was currently laying in, multiple wires hooked up to him.

Stuck between confusion and awe as he recognized the Youth Hero: Recovery Girl standing before him, he let out an awkward gurgling squeak. A patient, if frustrated look grew on the older woman's face.

"Don't talk, you screwed up your esophagus something fierce in the exam, deary. I would've thought that big oaf would have knocked the idea of 'restraint' into your head while he was training you."

At the confused look on Izuku's face, she continued.

"Yes, yes, I know he was training you and a couple of your friends. I'm his designated nurse, so I know all of what goes on around him. Now, before we continue, I need to set some ground rules. Do not speak, or attempt to make any noise. I had to do some emergency surgery to get your throat and vocal cords put back together, even with doses of my quirk."

The severity of her words had Izuku worried. Had he screwed up his chances at being a hero? Would Himiko and his mom be disappointed? Was that girl in the exam ok-

A sharp spike of pain in his shin brought him out of his thoughts.

"Don't go daydreaming on me now, I'm not done!"

Properly chastised, the green haired man brought his gaze back to the older heroine.

"While we're talking, I don't want you to speak. Just give a thumbs up for yes, or a thumbs down for no. Understood?"

Izuku raised a thumbs up.

"Good. I will be administering a final dose of healing from my quirk, but it will make you a bit tired, so I will be removing the tubes currently running down your throat. They've been helping you breathe while you've been recovering." Recovery Girl raised a hand at the look on the young man's face.

"Before you ask, it's only been a couple of hours since the exam ended, and the other girl is fine. Just a sprained ankle and ruptured eardrums. One of the many students having gone temporarily deaf after the stunt you pulled!"

Izuku's brief feelings of relief were quickly replaced by those of guilt.

Seeing this, Recovery Girl sighed.

"They're all fine, deary. A quick dose of healing and they were all on their way. Speaking of, how's about we get that tube of you, and get you on your way?" Thumbs up. "Alright. Just relax your throat muscles. Don't swallow! There we go."

After the tube was carefully removed, Izuku could feel his breathing evening out. Though they felt a little rougher than they usually were.

His eyes widened as the rescue heroine stretched her lips towards him and placed a kiss on his arm. They then drooped as a sudden sense of tiredness washed over him. Recovery Girl quickly handed something to him.

"Here you are deary. Eat these gummies, they will make you feel better."

As Izuku ate the provided gummies, a serious expression came over the older woman again.

"Your throat should be healed now, but you will still have to keep yourself from talking to help your body settle and finish recovering. I'd say about a week should do you good. You messed them up pretty badly out there."

Recovery Girl pulled something from a drawer nearby.

"This small whiteboard should get you by until then. Just write in this until you've recovered."

Izuku took the small whiteboard from her. It had a marker and small eraser attached to it. He quickly wrote something on it, before turning it towards the older woman and bowing towards her.

'Thank you for your help! I am sorry to trouble you.'

A grandmotherly smile appeared on Recovery Girl's face.

"Good manners will get you everywhere, young man. Now shoo! There were two girls harassing me ever since the exam ended, and I need them to leave so I can work in peace. I'm sure they'll be glad to see you're okay."

Izuku looked towards the door of the room in a panic. He scrambled out of the bed to meet his two friends waiting outside. He paused as he got out of the bed, before writing something else on the whiteboard.

'It was wonderful meeting you. I hope you have a good rest of your day!'

He was at the door when something else occurred to him. He walked back towards the nurse, a nervous expression on his face. She looked down to the newly written note, a light chuff of amusements escaping her lips.

'Can I please get your autograph?'

Tsuyu sat outside the UAU nurse's office with Himiko, nervously twiddling a finger as they watched the door.

They had tried to see Izuku earlier but had been shooed out by the heroine Recovery Girl, and had been waiting with baited breath ever since. Tsuyu glanced down at her phone laying next to her, dreading the eventual arrival of Izuku's mother.

Recovery Girl hadn't told them much. That Izuku had been given emergency surgery to stitch his throat back together before she could give him treatment through her quirk, and that he would make a full recovery with minimal chance of permanent damage, thank goodness. The only other thing they were told was that Inko had been informed of the incident, and she was dreading the arrival of the overprotective mama bear.

Tsuyu looked to her side, seeing Himiko curled up in her chair. She had wrapped her arms around her legs, pressing her face into her knees in a way that kept the frog from seeing her expression.

She rested a hand on her other best friend's shoulder. "He's going to be okay, ribbit. You heard Recovery Girl, if she says Zuku will be fine, then he will be."

She put on reassuring smile as Himiko looked up, their eyes meeting.

"Zuku told me all about Recovery Girl's career as a nurse and hero when we were younger. She wouldn't lie about a patient's recovery, ribbit."

Himiko stared at Tsuyu's face before tears started to come to her eyes, her lip quivering.

"Y-you promise?" The vulnerability in the blond girl's voice almost brought tears to the green haired girl's eyes. It had been a long time since Himiko looked this small.

"I promise, ribbit. I bet any minute now, Zuku will walk right out of that door, right as rain-"

*SLIDE*

The sound of the door nearby sliding open immediately grabbed both of their attention.

Before them stood Izuku Midoriya, with a proud smile for some reason. He was looking down at a familiar notebook in one hand as he walked out. In his other hand he held a white erase board tucked under his arm.

He was wearing the same workout clothes he had worn into the exam, his school uniform having been taken from the lockers they all used to change before the exam and tucked into a bag, given to Tsuyu to hold onto.

Around his neck were a wrap of bandages, likely covering the scarring from the surgery.

Tsuyu was about to put to word her worries over his well-being when-

"IZU-KINS!"

Himiko had launched herself at the green-haired young man without abandon. He barely managed to tuck his notebook away with trained ease before grabbing the flying gremlin, her having grabbed him with both her arms and legs in a full body hug, her face tucked into his neck.

She pulled her head away, grabbing his head in her hands, practically shoving their faces together until they were forehead to forehead, eyes locked intently on his.

"Izu-kins, are you ok? I heard you had torn your throat to bloody little chunks! Were they able to fix it? Did you save any of that tasty blood for me? Please, TALK TO ME!"

Her frantic display of worry had Izuku fighting back a bout of laughter, his shoulder's quaking.

Tsuyu watched as the injured young man tried to convey something to the blond still firmly attached to him, bombarding with question after question, before she noticed Izuku trying write something on the board in his hand. She walked up and put a hand on Himiko's back, a giggle escaping her lips at the girl's antics.

"Himiko, he can't answer with you so close to him." When she had the blood-crazed girl's attention, Tsuyu pointed to the whiteboard in Izuku's hand. "I think he is trying to respond by writing on that."

Himiko looked down at the afore-mentioned writing material, before looking back at Izuku. "He can just write his responses and show me."

"It's a little difficult for him to write while holding you up, not to mention that he has to write around you then show the board. I think it would be easier if we stood to his sides while he wrote."

Himiko opened her mouth to respond, before shutting it. She looked between the two greenettes, before puffing her cheeks up in a pout that had Tsuyu fighting off giggles.

"Fine."

Himiko climbed down off of Izuku before shoving herself into his right side.

"Note to self, Himiko is very clingy when she is worried. Haven't seen her like this since she moved in with them." Tsuyu thought, before moving to Izuku's left side.

"With that out of the way, ribbit, what did Recovery Girl say? Will you be ok?"

Izuku smiled down to the froggy girl in a way that had little toads bouncing away in her stomach, before he wrote down his response.

'She said I will make a full recovery. She told me to refrain from talking for a week to make sure my throat can finish healing.'

Tsuyu almost relaxed before a thought crossed her mind. Something she heard from the brown-haired girl who had been there earlier.

"I'm just really worried. The amount of blood he was coughing out looked awful. It got so bad that it was practically pouring from his mouth. When he collapsed, I could have sworn he was drowning, the way his body was panicking."

Tsuyu heard herself let out a worried ribbit. "Zuku, are you sure you're ok? I heard it was really bad…"

She saw in his eyes that he was about to brush it off before he met her gaze. His shoulders tensed, but then he looked over to Himiko, seeing her look up to him with a gaze that reminded Tsuyu of a kicked kitten.

She watched as he let out a defeated sigh, his shoulders slumping. She continued to watch as he wrote his response onto the white board.

'I'll admit, it was scary at the time. It hurt a lot.'

Izuku stared at the written woods for a moment, before his expression changed to a familiar determined look. He wrote more.

'I've never dug so deep for power like that before. I was worried I may have ruined my chances of getting into UA with you two…'

Izuku shared glances with the two young women before he continued to write, a content smile on his face.

'but then I remember the look on her face, the desperation when she called for help.'

Tsuyu relaxed into his side as she read, a proud smile growing on her face.

'I felt my body move almost automatically. She needed my help, and I would do whatever it took to save her. I don't regret doing it. I just wish I could have gotten there sooner, so I could have found a different way…'

Tsuyu's smile dimmed. Izuku always had a knack for knocking himself down, even when he did good things.

"Bah, who cares about stupid 'what-ifs!'"

Tsuyu and Izuku looked Himiko. She was resting her cheeks against Izuku's bicep, a self-satisfied smile on her face.

'W-What?'

"Look, you saved her from the robot, right? Who cares about whether you could have gotten there sooner or later. You got there when you got there, and you saved her life right?"

Tsuyu watched the blond girl's fang filled smile relax the last bit of tension from Izuku's posture. She smiled as the blond girl's expression brightened even more when Izuku started giving her head pats.

'You're right. I think that makes a bit of pain and some down time worth it!'

Tsuyu glared up at the young man. "Ribbit. Izuku, did you already forget that that 'little bit of pain' could have ruined your ability to talk?"

She watched as he cringed back.

'Y-yeah, you're right. I'll try to not push my limits that badly again…'

Tsuyu nodded to herself, happy that she was able to get through to him.

The trio enjoyed a few minutes more of the hug they shared, when Tsuyu felt the other two tense.

"What's wrong, ribbit?"

Himiko ducked behind the larger man. "Oh no, now?! We just got past the emotional bit and were getting comfy!"

Tsuyu tilted her head in confusion and Himiko stepped away from the comfy man they were holding onto.

Izuku tilted the board towards her with a freshly written note.

'I think it's best you let me let me go. I must stand before the storm, and let it run its course.'

Tsuyu's eyes widened in realization, before swiftly letting go of him. Izuku stood in the middle of the hallway, resigned to his fate.

If one had listened carefully, they would have heard the force of nature as it drew near. Everything around them grew silent, as if in respect of the great devastation that was about to be unleashed upon this school.

The rising storm roared down the hallway towards the injured young man. He raised his arms to accept the disaster to come. He changed his stance to prepare for the impact, tensing his legs as it hit him to ensure it didn't barrel through him.

"IIIIIIIII-ZUUU-KUUUUU!"

Inko Midoriya was informed that her baby boy had been hurt, and she had just arrived to make sure he was ok.
