Chapter 353 - 6

Izuku grunted as he tossed a microwave into the dumpster before him.

Part of All Might's 'All American Dream Plan' included a rather large dumpster being provided by All Might for him and Himiko to load up the trash they were moving to train their bodies.

It had been a week since they had started, and he was really starting to enjoy the burn, working muscles he didn't even know he had.

Himiko, on the other hand, was not.

He turned and watched as Himiko flumped onto her butt on the ground beside him. "Ugh! No one told me this would suck so much!"

Izuku scratched the back of his head, an amused smile on his face. "Actually, you were, remember? Or were you too busy watching my mom give him the 3rd degree?"

"Can you blame me? The look on his face!" Himiko flopped onto her back, cackling at the memory of the number one hero sweating before the diminutive Inko Midoriya.

Izuku chuckled at the memory himself. Izuku had made it a severe stipulation before he agreed to the training, that All Might had to meet his mother first. Whether that was as large All Might, or as the more public focused Toshinori Yagi was up to him.

Izuku wasn't comfortable doing any of this training behind his mom's back, even if it was done by the Number One hero himself.

He reminisced over the meeting that had occurred two weeks prior.

Izuku and Himiko nervously sat the living room of the Midoriya household. Across from them sat Inko, dressed in a formal business attire. A button-up shirt tucked into a crisp business skirt.

The neutral expression on her face made them worried, unable to tell if she was trying to look nice to meet their new trainer or dropping a law suit for daring to go near her darling baby boy.

All Might, as Toshinori Yagi, had given them his contact information to provide to Inko to set up an introductory meeting.

The two 16-year-olds shared a glance, hoping the wait would be over soon, both unsure how long their nerves could take.

A loud knock on the door had both of them jumping in their seats, and before either could get off the couch to answer, Inko was at the door. She opened it to reveal a giant torso, rippling with muscle. Said chest was wearing a yellow pinstripe suit.

The man the torso belonged to leaned down so his head would be visible in the doorway. "Good afternoon, miss! Is this the Midoriya residence?"

The man standing before Inko had a large smile on his face. A familiar blond V stood up above a pair of glowing blue eyes.

"A-All Might?! W-what are you doing here?!"

The large man tilted his head in confusion, a hand grabbing his chin. "Hm? Mr. Yagi should have informed you I was overseeing the training of Young Midoriya and Miss Himiko, did he not?"

"H-he did, but I didn't think you yourself would be coming!"

All Might stood back up, a fist slamming down into an open palm. "I see! Apologies for the misunderstanding, young lady, I figured it would be best if I met the mother of such a kind young man in person!"

"Y-young lady?!" A blush was rising on Inko's cheeks.

"It wouldn't do if I sent someone to do introductions for me. Now, I don't mean to be rude," All Might leaned down, a hand on one side of his mouth, a conspiratorial look on his face. "but perhaps we should conduct the rest of our conversation inside? I wouldn't want to cause a disturbance in such a peaceful neighborhood."

Inko snapped out of her awed stare at his words. She looked past his to see activity in houses across the street. Realizing that having the Number One hero standing outside her front door wasn't exactly inconspicuous, she ushered him inside.

Izuku stood as they entered the living room. "All Might, you came!"

"Of course, Young Midoriya! When Yagi informed me that your mother wanted to meet me, how could I not come! It seemed only right that she know what your training was to entail before it began."

Himiko had dumbfounded look on her face as she stayed seated on the couch. Unable to believe that All Might was actually there.

Inko cleared her throat loudly into the room. Her blush was gone, replaced by a stern look brooked no backtalk or interruption.

After waiting to make sure she had everyone's attention, she spoke. "Yes, his training. Before we get to that, All Might, would you please tell me how you know my son?"

All Might coughed nervously into his fist. "A-ah, yes.A few days ago, I met Young Midoriya after having chased a villain half-way across town through the sewer system. After I contained the villain, we had a very…illuminating conversation."

All Might lowered his head, his smile lessening, becoming something more somber.

"You see, I had been rather in the dumps that day. Well, for quite a while longer if I'm being honest."

Himiko stood up, a disbelieving look on her face. "I-in the dumps?! But you're All Might, why would you have possibly been in the dumps?"

All Might sat down in a nearby chair with a groan, slumping slightly as he got comfortable. "I've been in this business for a long time, young Himiko. I've come to realize lately, that I am not getting any younger."

From her seated position, Inko gasped, a hand covering her mouth. "Your activity has been going down the past few years. Don't tell me…"

"Indeed Mrs. Midoriya. When you've been in the hero business as long as I have, held the weight of Japan on your shoulders as long as I have… That eventually catches up to you. Wears you down. I've been worried about how the world will react when the Number One hero eventually steps down. How Japan will be able to handle the inevitable wave of villainy that will arise when the Symbol of Peace is no longer there to face them."

His words brought a depressing air into the room. What words could even be said in response to the Mighty Man himself admitting to his own mortality.

All Might sat up straighter, his gaze shifting to the green haired boy sitting nearby. Pride spread across his features.

"Young Midoriya reminded me of something truly important. Something that I had forgotten a long time ago."

All three sets of eyes looked up to him. Their attention hanging on his every word. Tears were prickling at the edges of Izuku's eyes.

"I am not alone. Not when I had first started out as a hero, and certainly not now. There are plenty of other heroes who will be able to take my place. And there will be heroes to come that will take theirs."

Both 16 year olds choked up as the man glanced between them.

Turning to Inko, he spoke. "The reason I offered to train these two is that I saw a bit of myself in them, Young Midoriya especially. Even if they chose not to be limelight heroes, like I am or so many others are, I want to give them the best chance they can to be the best heroes I know they can become."

All Might bowed to Inko from his seated position. Her eyes widened in shock at the sight.

"Please let me give them that chance."

Tears were falling from her eyes, overwhelmed by the opportunity being offered.

In the silence, All Might was coming to accept that he may have put too much in the lap of this woman. He was about to sit back up, to leave when-

"Ok."

The large man's head snapped back up, seeing the woman wiping tears from her eyes, before she took in a shuddering breath.

"Ok. I'll give you my blessing, but on two conditions!"

All Might's smile grew wide. "Of course, anything!"

"I want to be kept updated on their progress, and that they won't be put in danger with the training. I couldn't bear it if they got hurt!"

All Might was nodding his head. "Naturally, I had every intention of keeping you informed, and I promise no harm will come to them!"

Inko searched his eyes. Determining that he held no deceit. She finished wiping her eyes and sat straighter. A burning determination in her eyes.

A look that brought up…bad memories for Toshinori. He could feel one of his legs shaking at the images.

"I would like to see the training and meal plans you have prepared for them. I want to look over them. Extensively."

As he let the memory wash over him, Izuku let out a sigh of satisfaction as he looked over their progress on the beach.

The empty spot he had originally cleared had grown at ever increasing speeds since they had started All Might's 'Aim to Pass! All American Dream Plan' training. While it had only been a few weeks, he could already feel the progress in his aching muscles.

He was looking forward to what else All Might had planned for their training.

…So why did he feel a tingle of fear run up his spine at that moment?

The following two years were very busy for Izuku. While cleaning the beach seemed like a simple task at first, it was far more involved than he could have expected.

From having to move large appliances like fridges and laundry machines, to moving full sized cars, to moving large appliances that also carried the large form of a buff All Might atop them, it had taken them quite some time to clear it.

All Might had mixed in plenty of rest days for recovery, but he had also planned for days where instead of heavy lifting, Izuku and Himiko did workouts focused more on endurance.

Tsuyu even participated on the rare occasions she could visit. Her training consisted of jumping between junk piles while her two friends threw blunt objects in her direction to train her reaction times.

An older pickup truck parked at the edge of the beach. As All Might put the vehicle in park, he considered the teenagers he was here to check on.

Izuku and Himiko had been making fantastic progress on their training. In fact, they were cleaning the beach so fast that they were ahead of schedule. If his estimations were correct, they would have the beach looking pristine by the end of the week.

So understandably he was shocked at the sight before him as he stepped out of his truck.

The dumpster he had provided was absolutely filledwith garbage, to the point where the pile in it was twice as tall as the dumpster itself.

Atop that pile stood Midoriya Izuku, howling out in victory. Down on the beach, he could see Himiko sitting with her feet in the lapping water.

A beach that lacked even a single speck of the trash that once marred its beautiful sands.

Not only had they finished well ahead of his schedule. They had finished cleaning the beach with two months to spare before the UA entrance exams.

"Oh my… Oh my…GOODNESS!" All Might couldn't help but expand his muscles in excitement at the sight. Thankfully no one was looking.

His shout drew the attention of the two teenagers.

"All Might!" Izuku had a wide smile on his face. He carefully hopped down from the junk pile, running up to the large man just as Himiko got to him.

Izuku was currently shirtless. Showing his lean, yet somehow incredibly dense musculature to the open air. All Might wasn't entirely sure how the boy maintained such a lean physique yet somehow moved weights a man twice his size would struggle to lift. "Perhaps it's related to his wolf form? Most animals can hide an incredible amount of strength behind denser muscles."

Izuku had let his hair grow out at Himiko's request. Something about how its fluffiness shouldn't be contained by his original, shorter style. It was currently tied in a low ponytail hanging down to between his shoulder blades, poofing out like the tail of wolf.

The boy had even gone through a growth spurt in his time training. Whereas before, he was a middling five foot five in height, he now stood at a rather impressive six feet tall.

While he was by no means a giant, it was still rather impressive to see how much of a difference it made on the young man.

While so much had changed for Young Midoriya, Himiko seemed quite set on seeming the same as she did 2 years prior. Her hair was done up in 2 messy buns, and no amount of convincing would have her trying to tidy them in any way.

She had at least filled out some, having been on a proper diet of food and blood now that she had been living with the Midoriyas.

"I wonder why she insists on keeping Toga as her family name, with how much she seems to detest being referred to by it."

He shook his head of errant thoughts and clasped a hand on each of their shoulders.

"Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! You two continue to not only exceed my expectations, but you blow them out of the water! I was coming here today to let you know you could slow down your pace, take some more time to rest, since the entrance exams are coming up soon. Yet here you are, finishing the cleaning a whole month early! I couldn't be more proud of you two!"

Tears started to come to Izuku eyes at his favorite hero's words. Himiko bumped his shoulder.

"No thanks to Izu-kins over here. Every time he wasn't studying or writing in one of his notebooks, he was out here, training or cleaning. So boring~. He just refuses to have any fun." Himiko pouted, her cheeks blown up in exaggeration.

"H-hey! We have fun all the time!"

"That's because I have to practically drag you away from here or you'd be doing nothing but training!"

"W-well…" Izuku rubbed the back of his head nervously.

All Might laughed uproariously at their banter. "Well, now you'll have plenty more time to enjoy yourselves! In fact, now is a time for celebration! You two have officially completed the 'Aim to Pass! All American Dream Plan'!"

The two eighteen year-olds looked to each other and high fived.

"Yes!"

"Yay! No more hell training!"

All Might let out another signature laugh. "AHAHAHA! While it's true you've completed my regimen, you shouldn't forget that training at UAU can be hell training of its own."

Izuku seemed excited at the prospect, while Himiko's shoulders slumped in defeat.

"But now is no time to worry about that! You've still got two months to act like kids, so go. Hang out with friends, have fun, and try not to get into too much trouble. These next two months are you to let your bodies settle and prepare for the exams. They won't testing you just physically after all!"

"Yes, All Might!"

"Aw man, more studying…?"

"Don't worry Himiko, I'll help you study. By the time the Entrance Exams hit, you'll be acing it no problem!" Izuku smiled supportively to her.

All Might watched as Himiko's worries visibly drained from her, right before she jumped and glomped onto the boy.

"No, the young man." All Might thought.

"All right you two. I'm going to make a call to get the rest of this hauled off. You go enjoy the rest of your youth. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you too when you get into the school, as I have no doubt the two of you will pass. Be sure to Go Beyond, PLUS ULTRA!"

As the two left, All Might let go of his muscle form, a smile still on his face. As he watched their retreating backs, a thought crossed his mind.

"Izuku Midoriya… I'll definitely have to keep an eye on you. Perhaps you may be the one…"

It had been three weeks since Izuku and Himiko had cleared Dagobah Beach. The two were currently walking through Musutafu with a visiting Tsuyu, looking for a local arcade to enjoy some time to relax before entrance exams.

Izuku was walking while writing into a notebook, having watched a newer hero in action and needing to make notes. He was wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt with the Kanji for "Jacket" written on his chest. Over the shirt he wore a thick, hooded sweatshirt with the zipper open. Around his neck hung a red and green scarf.

Himiko was darting between store displays, a large smile on her face while she window-shopped. She was wearing her favorite yellow sweater over a long heavy skirt. Around her neck hung a scarf that had a swirl of two differing shades of green running down its length.

Tsuyu walked beside them, a smile on her face. It wasn't often she was able to visit, so she took her time simply enjoying being near her two closest friends. She wore a thicker jacket with a zipped-up collar high enough to cover her mouth and nose. On top of a thick skirt, she also wore leggings designed to keep her legs warm. Around her neck hung a scarf of a similar style to Himiko's, except one of the shades of green was swapped out for a deep red. Similar to Izuku's, except with a darker shade of green.

The three had exchanged the scarves on their first Christmas since Himiko had moved in with the Midoriyas.

While human, Tsuyu's quirk still made her body sensitive to the cold. That said, she kept her hands uncovered to give the other two excuses to hold them. Tsuyu enjoyed seeing Izuku's face heat up whenever she asked him to hold her hand to 'help her warm up'.

"Izu-kins, Tsu, We're here!" Himiko's excited shout brought the two green haired friends out of their respective thoughts. They looked up to see the arcade they had been intending to visit, Himiko bouncing lightly while throwing her arms around in large waving patterns.

Izuku smiled at the sight. "Awesome! I'm excited to take a crack at some of the games. I heard one of the claw machines got a limited edition run of plush All Mights!"

Tsuyu let out a ribbiting giggle at his enthusiasm. "Only you would be so excited over a claw machine out of all the games at an arcade, ribbit."

Izuku scratched the back of his head bashfully. "I mean, it's not the only game I'm excited to play. There's the All Might fighting games, the team based games, and Himiko even challenged me to some kind of dancing game."

Izuku brought a hand up to his chin in thought.

"It's surprising how well my four-legged coordination training translates over to bipedal movement." He mutter. "Maybe it's something instinctual? Like how I knew how to move as a wolf, that ingrained knowledge somehow carried overandtranslatedovertotwo-legged-"

Izuku was broken out of his mutter storm by a familiar tongue sticking to his cheek.

"Ribbit. Now isn't the time for muttering. We have games to play. Now my tongue is getting cold…"

Her obvious act of directing his mind towards the fun they came here to have flew right over his head as he grabbed her hand, pulling her towards the arcade.

"Come on, let's get inside before you get cold!"

Upon entering, they could see a plethora of activities. From shooters, to fighting games, to the aforementioned claw machines and even photo booths. There were even hero themed bumper cars and laser tag themed after some gun-themed heroes.

Izuku looked over to Himiko and saw a wide-eyed look of awe. She had expressed to him at one point since moving in with him and Inko that she never hung out with friends after school, so she never had an opportunity to visit a place like this.

He had wanted to bring her there sooner, but All Might's training had kept them too busy to really let loose in a place like this.

Izuku planted a hand on her shoulder. He smiled as she met his gaze. "I know this is your first time at an arcade, so how about you choose what we do first?"

A fang filled smile grew on her face. "We're gonna do the photo booths!"

Izuku tilted his head in confusion. "Don't people normally do that towards the end of a visit to a place like this?"

"Well, we're going to do one at the beginning and the end, of course!" She proceeded to march towards the nearest photo booth.

Izuku shared an amused look with Tsuyu before shrugging and following after her.

After getting their first set of photos together, they moved onto a group shooter game themed after the Gun-Hero Snipe. Tsuyu stood to the side and watched her two friends animatedly play the game.

Constant shouts of "He's over there, behind the barrels!" and "Cover me!" put a smile on her face. She didn't get to see the two of them have such unadulterated fun very often. The kind of fun where you don't care who's watching or whether or not you are even hitting the targets you are aiming at.

After a successful recovery of a virtual hostage, they moved to a cute platforming game that had all three of them tied together as little bipedal animals, needing to coordinate their movements, lest they fall all the way down to the beginning of the map.

After successfully failing to get past the halfway point, they decided to have a go at the bumper cars, laughing heartily as they all ran into eachother over and over again.

One of the last activities had Himiko and Izuku competing against each other in a Dance Dance Revolution game.

While Izuku's training had done wonders for his leg-based coordination, Himiko was using her lithe dexterity to easily trounce him.

Izuku chuckled as he watched Himiko typed in her initials on the leaderboard, narrowly missing the first place score. Below the letters 'AQN' Himiko left her initials as "HIT". It didn't take a large leap of logic to figure that the three letters were the first letters of each of their names.

They were moving to check out the latest All Might fighting game(At a certain green-haired young man's insistence) when Izuku felt a hard shove against his shoulder as someone passed by him.

He had been turning his head to see who had bumped into him when he heard a familiar voice.

"Watch where you're going Deku-Mutt!"

Before Izuku stood the blond bane of his existence, Katsuki Bakugou. He had his usual scowling glare on his face.

"S-sorry, Katsuki, I didn't see you there."

"Tch. Stay the hell out of my way. And I better not see you applying for UA. I'm the only one who's got the power to be the next number one hero and the last thing I need are some shitty extras dragging me down!"

"Oh please, are you still on about that crap?"

Bakugou turned his glare on the speaker. Himiko glared right back at him.

"We all know that the chance of you becoming the number one hero is about as great as Endeavor shitting out an ice cube, Bakugluck!"

The rage in Bakugou's face increased, a pulsing vein becoming clear on his forehead. Popping noises were coming from the palms of his hands.

"THE FUCK DID YOU CALL ME?!"

"Bakugluck? You clearly love to suck your own dick, so I figured I'd give you a nickname to match!" Himiko's glare had changed into an innocent smile. Pretending for all the world that such a nickname was just a friendly ribbing between friends.

The popping from the explosive blond's palms grew louder. He was just about to show this cat-eyed loser her place when-

"PFFT"

Bakugou froze, his head turning to see Izuku hunched over, one hand covering his mouth and the other on his stomach. His shoulders were shaking, his eyes watering at the strain being put on his body.

Before anyone could ask him what was wrong, a peal of laughter broke from his covered mouth.

"Ahahaha! H-Himiko, you can't just- *snirk* you can't just call someone that, hehe, HAHAHA."

Bakugou couldn't believe his eyes. The damned nerd was… laughing  at him! The future Number One Hero!

Even the damn frog was chuckling at him. Himiko's proud smile was wide, and fang filled.

"THE FUCK ARE YOU LAUGHING AT, YOU STUPID ANIMALS?!"

"You stupid extras, I'll show you…!"

Before Bakugou's rage-filled thoughts could bleed into reality, someone wearing an employee uniform from the arcade walked up to them.

"Everything alright over hear folks? Heard some yelling and wanted to make sure everyone was being civil. We don't allow fighting in here beyond the competitive type."

"Tch. Everything's fine." Bakugou shoved his hands into his pockets and turned to leave, leveling one last glare at the three of them.

As Izuku was still trying to stop laughing, Tsuyu stepped up to the employee. "Sorry, ribbit. We had a bit of a misunderstanding with him. It won't happen again."

The man nodded his head. "Make sure it doesn't. You three enjoy youR time here."

"Thank you, ribbit."

"Thank you!"

"Yeah, hehe, thanks."

Izuku was rubbing away some stray tears.

"Oh, man. I don't know if I've ever laughed that hard before. When did you come up with that one, Himiko?"

"Just now!" Himiko walked over and grabbed Izuku's arm and started pulling him toward some other games. "Now come on! That party pooper almost ruined the mood and there are still more games to play!"

Hours later, the three of them were leaving the arcade with their prizes in tow.

Himiko was carrying a plush vampire based on one of the platforming games they had played, about a religious family fighting evil vampires through increasingly hard levels with little more than a chain whip and a cross-shaped boomerang.

Tsuyu was carrying a plush frog from one of the cuter games where you played as animal people in a village that had you helping organize their homes.

Izuku was carrying a miniature All Might from one the hero's latest fighting games.

The trip home was all tired smiles as the sun set in the distance.

They had spent every moment having as much fun as they could, as the next month would likely be filled with nothing but studying for the upcoming entrance exams.

…Izuku could already imagine Himiko's displeasure.

"Woah…"

Izuku had a look of awe on his face. Himiko, Tsuyu, and he were standing before a large arch with the letters 'U.A.' emblazoned across its top.

"The university building is very large, ribbit."

"Dang… And this is just the administrative building? Izu-kins, exactly how big did you say the campus was?"

Izuku looked to her, standing up straight with a proud smile on his face. "It's actually pretty hard to calculate. It's speculated that the entire campus is the size of a small city, but it has a few facilities that require leaving its walls to get to. In fact-"

"Get outta the way, Deku-Mutt! You wanna die?!"

Bakugou Katsuki shoved past them, a fierce scowl on his face.

"Jeez, with his attitude I'll be surprised if he actually makes it in."

"Don't say that Himiko! His quirk would be really useful for heroics."

Himiko leveled a flat stare in his direction.

"Izuku." Uh-oh. "He spends more time belittling those around him than actually helping anyone. What kind of hero acts like that?"

"W-well, it's not like Endeavor is a very personable hero either, but you can't argue with results…"

"Yeah, but even Endeavor doesn't lay insults onto everyone around him."

"Come on, ribbit. Exams are going to start soon, and we need to head inside."

"R-right!"

"Okaaay!"

The three headed towards the entrance to the building.

"I wonder what we should expect. I know there is a written and practical test for entrance exams. I wonder what heroes we'll get to see. I know they have a set staff, but you never know if they change or hire new people. I hope I can get their autographs." Izuku was so stuck in his mind over what to expect that he didn't notice a raised brick on the path before them and tripped.

As the young man toppled forward on a quick path towards his face meeting the brick path, he closed his eyes in resignation. "Ah, so this is how I die."

Only… his face never made contact with the ground. He opened his eyes only to stare in confusion. He hadn't just not hit the ground, he was floating.

He felt a pair of hands grab and reorient him, so his feet were on the ground, before he felt gravity reassert itself.

"Release! I am so sorry to use my quirk on you. I saw you falling and figured it would be bad luck!"

Izuku turned to see a girl with a brunette bob-cut hair bowing her head to him. She had pink blush marks on her cheeks. Her hands were position so that the tip of each finger was touching the matching finger on each hand. As she pulled them apart, he saw what looked like little pads where the fingerprint would be.

"Kind of like the toe beans on a cat. I wonder what her quirk is. Possibly a touch-based telekinesis quirk based on the finger pads? No, if it were telekinesis she wouldn't have needed to orient me by hand. Maybe its gravity related?"

"W-wow. How'd you guess? Do you have a quirk that lets you understand other quirks or somethin'?" The brunette girl had tilted her head in curiosity.

Izuku flinched back. "A-ah, sorry! I have a bad habit of mumbling when I get lost in thought! No, I don't have a quirk like that. Studying quirks is a hobby of mine."

"Yeah! He even keeps loads of notebooks about them. What are you at now, Izu-kins, 12?" Himiko had walked back to them, bumping her shoulder against his. Something about the look in her eyes had Izuku worried.

"It's thirteen actually, ribbit." Tsuyu had also walked back to them. She rested a finger against her chin, seemingly thinking something over.

Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "I-It's not that big of a deal…"

Himiko gave him a dead pan look. "Izu-kins, you rewrite each of those books every month."

"W-well, new info on heroes come out all the time and sometimes I need to reformat my older entrees!"

"You're not defending yourself bub." Himiko poked his chest with a slight pout on her face.

"Pfft." The three of them looked back to the girl nearby. "Hahaha. You guys are funny. Well, it was good talking to you and I'm glad you didn't get hurt. Gotta get to the exam room, I wish you three the best of luck."

As the girl ran towards the entrance, waving a hand to them as she left, Izuku heard Himiko mutter, "Did you see the blush marks on her? Makes me want to grab her cheeks and just smoosh 'em real good."

"H-Himiko!"

"She was pretty cute, ribbit."

"Tsu, you too?!"

Izuku found himself sitting between Himiko and Bakugou in a large auditorium. They had finished the written exams and found themselves seated in the large room, seemingly sorted by their high schools. This meant that Tsuyu had been seated a good distance away from them.

"Ugh… brain no work. Wanna sleep…"

Himiko sat with her cheek resting against Izuku's shoulder, playing up how worn out she actually was. Izuku knew she was smart enough that the written exam shouldn't have been nearly as hard as she was pretending.

He chose not to say anything, however. He rather enjoyed the contact with the blond girl. It was… comforting.

Izuku continued to write in one of his notebooks, decidedly ignoring Bakugou's growling. He had already read the pamphlet that had been handed and was writing possible strategies, taking note of a section with particularly small text.

"Possibly testing our attention for detail?"

Izuku nudged Himiko to get her attention and pointed to the smaller section. He noticed her pupils thin as she read.

Satisfied she had properly registered the information, he watched as she went back to her 'cat nap'.

It wasn't long before a man walked out onto the stage at the front of the auditorium. He was wearing a full leather outfit with a high collar. Around his neck was some sort of boom box with large speakers. His blond hair was styled back in a sharp upward wave, held back by a pair of large head phones.

Izuku recognized him as the pro hero Present Mic.

When the man spoke, his voice was amplified by the support gear he wore.

"How's it going little listeners, can I get a YEAH?!" Silence. "I'VE GOT SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE, TOO, LISTENERS! All right, examinees, I'M GONNA GIVE YOU THE LOW DOWN ON HOW THIS'LL GO DOWN! ARE YOU READY?!"

Izuku, through years of training, had managed to contain his fanboy muttering storm.

"Oh my gosh, it's Present Mic! I listen to his radio show all the time!"

…Or at least he managed to cover his mouth so that his muttering wasn't too loud. He hoped.

"NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION LISTENERS! WE WILL BE TESTING YOU BY HAVING YOU RUN THROUGH A MOCK CITY ON A TEN-MINUTE TIMER! WE WILL HAVE YOU ALL SPLIT UP BETWEEN A FEW DIFFERENT CITY ZONES, WHICH YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO BY MARKED BUSES AFTER THIS PRESENTATION!"

Izuku looked at the notes he and Himiko were given. "It seems like they have us going to different zones…"

"Tch. It's probably to keep me from crushing you and stop you extras from working together."

While Bakugou's explanation seemed reasonable, to separate those who are from the same schools, something about how he phrased it didn't sit right with him.

"Keep us from working together? We're here to be heroes. Why would they want to keep us from working together?"

Izuku refocused as he heard their presenter continue speaking.

"WE WILL HAVE ROBOTS SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE CITIES WORTH A SET OF POINTS BASED ON DIFFICULTY. THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF ROBOT VILLAINS YOU WILL BE GUNNING FOR!" At this, the screen behind the man glowed, showing 3 different robots, each marked by the numbers 1, 2, and 3. "IF YOU CAN'T TELL BASED ON THESE IMAGES, THE VILLAINS WILL BE WORTH EITHER ONE, TWO, THREE POINTS, RESPECTIVELY BASED ON DIFFICULTY! YOUR FINAL SCORE WILL BE BASED ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF POINTS YOU CAN GATHER BEFORE THE 10 MINUTES ARE UP!"

Izuku noted the assorted weaponry each robot had. "Something about this seems odd. It seems very focused towards people with strong combat-focused quirks."

"ONE OTHER THING! DO NOT ATTACK OR INTENTIONALLY INTERFERE WITH YOUR FELLOW EXAMINEES! WE WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY OF THAT UNHERO-LIKE BEHAVIOR!"

"Excuse me, may I ask a question?!"

Below Izuku, he could see a young man with professionally style blue hair standing with his hand raised.

"On the hand-out, there are clearly 4 types of Villains listed! Such an error would be an embarrassment for a school as illustrious as UA University! And you there, with the green hair!"

Izuku startled as he realized the man was pointing at him.

"Your muttering is very distracting! If you refuse to take this examination seriously, then please leave at once, so the rest of us can focus!"

Izuku was so confused and stunned by his words, that he couldn't even mutter out an apology before Present Mic spoke in response.

"THANKS FOR THE SEGUE, EXAMINEE 7111! THE FOURTH TYPE OF VILLAIN ISN'T WORTH ANY POINTS! TREAT IT MORE LIKE AN OBSTACLE TO BE AVOIDED, AS COMBAT WITH IT HAS NO BENEFIT!"

The blue haired young man bowed before sitting back down. "Thank you for the explanation! I apologize for the interruption!"

"ALRIGHT LISTENERS, THAT'S ENOUGH FROM ME. BEFORE I SEND YOU ALL OUT TO YOUR BUSES, LET ME LEAVE YOU ALL WITH A MOTTO I ADHERE TO BY A FIGURE OF OLD; "TRUE HEROISM CONSISTS OF RISING ABOVE MISFORTUNE." SO GO OUT THERE AND GO PLUS ULTRA!"
