...
Nikki beamed, stepping past the bodyguards. She crouched down next to Sandro, taking the marker and signing the photo with a flourish. AJ and Alexa joined them, offering the girl high fives and complimenting her hat. The girl's parents stood a few feet away, whispering their thanks to Sandro for taking the time. For five minutes, the most hated faction in professional wrestling sat on the sidewalk, chatting happily with a child, creating a memory that would last a lifetime. When they finally stood up, Sandro offered the girl a gentle pat on the shoulder before slipping his designer sunglasses back on.
The transaction was over, and the God King immediately returned, ignoring the dozens of adult fans shouting for his attention as the bodyguards escorted them into the jewelry store.
Inside, Sandro spared no expense. He bought diamond earrings for AJ, a stunning rose gold necklace that perfectly matched the new title for Nikki, and a custom fitted tennis bracelet for Alexa. The women had been working relentlessly, both in the ring and alongside him, and Sandro wanted to ensure they felt the tangible rewards of their loyalty.
The day ended with a lavish dinner at a private, rooftop restaurant overlooking the Manhattan skyline, a peaceful, luxurious calm before the inevitable storm.
Days passed, the New York trip fading into the rearview mirror as the relentless machine of WWE rolled forward.
Monday night arrived, and the sprawling Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, was packed to the absolute rafters. The southern crowd was notoriously loud, and the moment the doors opened, the building was flooded with passionate, vocal fans carrying signs and wearing the merchandise of their favorite superstars.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A massive, sustained volley of pyrotechnics exploded across the entrance stage, shooting bright silver sparks high into the rafters. The shockwaves rattled the cameras as the upbeat, energetic RAW theme song pumped through the stadium speakers. The camera swept dynamically across the roaring crowd, capturing a sea of flashing lights and fans losing their minds in pure excitement.
The broadcast swooped down to the ringside announce desk, where the three man commentary booth was ready to unpack a week of unprecedented chaos.
"Welcome to Monday Night RAW, broadcasting live from a sold out arena in Atlanta, Georgia!" Cole yelled, his voice carrying the hype of a massive blockbuster event. "I am Michael Cole, alongside Jerry 'The King' Lawler and John 'Bradshaw' Layfield, and gentlemen, we are still dealing with the massive, violent shockwaves of what happened last week!"
"It was absolute madness, Michael!" Lawler cheered, shaking his head in disbelief. "This company is being pulled in a dozen different directions! We have new champions, we have new rivalries, and we have a God King who thinks he is completely above the law!"
"The God King IS the law, King!" JBL instantly argued, aggressively adjusting his cowboy hat. "Sandro Zhang proved exactly why he sits on the throne! He doesn't answer to anyone! He does whatever it takes to protect his family and his gold!"
"Protect his family?!" Cole shot back in absolute disgust. "John, last week, Asuka slapped Sandro in the face. Did she cross a line? Yes. But Sandro Zhang responded by kicking a female competitor brutally in the stomach! He lifted her up for the Falls From Grace! He was going to end her career!"
"It's called true equality, Michael!" JBL yelled, pointing a finger at his broadcast partner. "Asuka wanted to step up and put her hands on a man? She put her hands on the Double Champion! What did she expect him to do? Turn the other cheek? Sandro Zhang treated her exactly like he would treat any other challenger!"
"It was heinous!" Lawler disagreed firmly. "And thank god the lights went out when they did. Sting saved Asuka's career, and he gave Sandro a heavy dose of his own medicine with that baseball bat!"
"Sting is a coward!" JBL grumbled, leaning back in his chair. "He couldn't beat Sandro at SummerSlam, so he resorts to hiding in the dark and using a weapon! The Stinger is a sore loser who needs to pack his bags and go back to the retirement home!"
"You can defend him all you want, John," Cole transitioned smoothly, "but Sandro Zhang has made a lot of enemies. And none of them are more terrifying than the Wyatt Family. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan decimated a local tag team last week, but it was Bray Wyatt's words that sent chills down my spine."
"Bray Wyatt put a target directly on the God King's back," Lawler added, his tone growing serious. "He promised to swallow the highest mountain in this industry. He wants the world championships. And after seeing what Harper and Rowan did to The Usos, I don't know if anyone can stop them."
"And don't forget the United States Championship picture!" Cole hyped, keeping the momentum rolling. "Tonight, our main event is set! John Cena will defend his newly won championship in a highly anticipated SummerSlam rematch against the unhinged Scottish Psychopath, Drew McIntyre!"
"Drew McIntyre is a man possessed!" JBL praised. "He found his killer instinct, and tonight, he is taking his title back!"
As the commentary team continued their heated debate regarding the chaotic landscape of Monday Night RAW, a sudden, jarring sound ripped through the arena.
SCREEECH... CRASH!
The unmistakable sound of a car wreck echoed through the sound system, immediately followed by the heavy, grinding guitar riff of Mick Foley's theme music.
The Atlanta crowd erupted into a massive, affectionate cheer, jumping to their feet to welcome the beloved General Manager.
But the man who stepped out from behind the curtain was not wearing his usual warm, folksy smile.
Mick Foley walked slowly out onto the stage. He was wearing his trademark red and black flannel shirt, but wrapped thickly around his throat was a stiff, white medical neck brace. He moved cautiously, his posture rigid, clearly suffering from the physical toll of the brutal assault he endured at SummerSlam.
Foley held a microphone tightly in his right hand. He didn't slap high fives with the fans leaning over the barricade. He didn't point or wave. He walked down the steel ramp with a dark, intense look in his eyes, projecting the gritty, dangerous aura of the Hardcore Legend.
"Listen to this reception for our General Manager," Cole said, his voice laced with respect. "Mick Foley suffered a devastating Falls From Grace two weeks ago at the hands of the God King. Sandro Zhang had no right to put his hands on a WWE official."
"Foley stepped into a warzone!" JBL argued defensively. "He put his hands on Sandro first! What did he expect?"
Foley climbed the steel steps, ducking carefully through the ropes to avoid aggravating his injured neck. He stepped into the center of the ring, looking out at the roaring Georgia crowd. The fans chanted his name, showing their deep appreciation for the sacrifices he had made for the business.
Foley slowly raised the microphone to his lips, waiting for the chants to die down into a hushed, respectful silence.
"Two weeks ago, at SummerSlam, I walked down that ramp to do my job," Foley began, his voice gravelly and devoid of any humor. "I walked down to that ring to stop a champion from permanently injuring a legend who had already lost the match. And my reward for doing my job... was Sandro Zhang driving my skull into the canvas."
The crowd booed loudly at the mention of Sandro's name.
"I have taken a lot of bumps in my career," Foley continued, carefully turning his shoulders instead of his neck to address the other side of the arena. "I have been thrown off cages, I have been dropped on thumbtacks, and I have been set on fire. So, a sore neck isn't going to keep me away from this ring."
Foley took a slow step forward, his eyes narrowing into a fierce glare.
"But what I saw last week on this television show... that made me sick to my stomach," Foley stated, his voice rising in anger. "Sandro Zhang, you call yourself a God. You walk around with two World Championships, demanding respect from every single person in this building. But last week, when things didn't go your way, you kicked a female competitor brutally in the stomach."
The crowd rained down heavy boos, remembering the shocking visual of Asuka folding over in the ring.
"I don't care what she said to you," Foley yelled, his passion bleeding through the microphone. "I don't care that she slapped you! You do not use your size, your power, and your finishing move to try and break the neck of a woman on my show! It is cowardly, it is pathetic, and it is a complete disgrace to the championships you hold!"
Foley paced slowly, letting the gravity of his words sink in.
"When you attacked me, I could have fired you," Foley revealed, his tone turning cold. "When you attacked Asuka, many people close to me persuade me as they wanted to strip you of your titles. But I told them no. Because stripping you of your titles gives you an excuse. It lets you play the victim. It lets you complain on the internet that the corporate machine held you down."
Foley pointed a finger directly at the hard camera, addressing the God King wherever he was in the building.
"I am not going to let you play the victim, Sandro," Foley promised. "But there will be consequences. Earlier today, I officially fined you two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for putting your hands on a WWE official and for your unprovoked attack on Asuka."
The crowd let out a low whistle at the massive financial penalty.
Foley let out a dry, humorless chuckle.
"But let's be honest," Foley admitted, shaking his head. "Two hundred and fifty grand is pocket change to the heir of Nexum Core. You probably spend that much on the designer suits you love to wear. A financial fine means absolutely nothing to a spoiled billionaire with a god complex."
Foley lowered his head for a moment, letting the silence build, before looking back up with a wild, dangerous glint in his eye.
"So, I decided you need a punishment that you can actually feel," Foley declared, his voice echoing loudly through the Philips Arena. "You want to act like a thug? You want to throw your weight around and hurt people just because you can? Fine. Let's see how tough you are when you are forced into a fight."
The crowd buzzed, sensing a massive announcement.
"Sandro Zhang, get your gear on and bring those shiny belts down to this ring right now," Foley ordered, his voice echoing with absolute authority. "Because as a direct punishment for your actions, you are competing in a match tonight. Right here, right now."
The fans exploded into cheers.
"You don't have a week to prepare," Foley yelled over the roar of the crowd. "You don't get to strategize with your girlfriends! You are going to step into this ring and face a mysterious opponent that I personally selected. An opponent who is very, very eager to teach you a lesson in respect."
Foley lowered the microphone, staring hard at the entrance ramp, refusing to break his gaze.
"Did you hear that?!" Cole yelled in absolute shock. "Mick Foley just laid down the law! The God King is being forced into a match right now!"
"This is an abuse of power!" JBL shrieked, ripping his headset off in protest. "Sandro Zhang isn't dressed to compete! He wasn't scheduled for a match! You can't just force a Double Champion into a mystery bout!"
"Foley is the General Manager, John, he can do whatever he wants!" Lawler cheered happily. "And it sounds like Sandro's karma has finally caught up to him!"
The Atlanta crowd was on their feet, the noise reaching a fever pitch as the broadcast hung on the tense, highly anticipated moment.
Foley stood his ground in the center of the ring, his chest heaving, the medical brace a glaring white reminder of the God King's cruelty. He slowly lowered the microphone, turning his back on the roaring Atlanta crowd, and began the long, stiff walk up the steel ramp. He didn't look back. He kept his eyes locked firmly on the entrance curtain, daring the billionaire champion to answer the challenge.
Foley reached the top of the stage, stopping just a few feet away from the heavy black curtain.
KSSSHHH!*l
The jarring blast of static ripped through the Philips Arena, instantly followed by the heavy, grinding guitar riff of Cult of Personality.
The fans erupted into a deafening chorus of hostile boos. The curtain parted. Sandro Zhang stepped out onto the grating, bathed in a sea of red pyrotechnics.
He was not wearing his tailored charcoal suit anymore. The God King was already fully dressed for war, wearing his pristine, custom fitted wrestling trunks and boots. Draped heavily over his shoulders were the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship. He looked completely unbothered by the sudden booking.
Sandro stopped directly in front of the General Manager. The generational clash was stark, the battered, aging Hardcore Legend in a neck brace staring up at the twenty one year old physical specimen who ruled his show.
Sandro didn't flinch. He leaned in close to Foley's face, a cruel, mocking smile spreading across his lips.
"You think you can teach me a lesson?" Sandro asked, his voice easily picked up by the stage microphones, echoing through the arena. "You think you can dig up some mysterious ghost from the past to put me in my place? I am the God King. I take on everything this company has to offer. And when I am done breaking whoever you send down that ramp, I might just come back up here and finish the job on your neck."
Foley glared at him, his eyes burning with silent fury, but he didn't take the bait. The General Manager simply shook his head in disgust, stepped around the arrogant champion, and disappeared through the curtain to the backstage area.
Sandro let out a dark chuckle. He turned his attention to the crowd, raising both of his massive gold championships high into the air, soaking in the absolute hatred raining down from the stands.
"Look at the sheer arrogance of this kid," Cole said, his voice laced with genuine contempt. "Mick Foley just forced him into an unscheduled match as punishment for a heinous assault, and Sandro Zhang walks out here acting like he is walking a red carpet!"
"Because he is untouchable, Michael!" JBL argued loudly, clapping his hands together. "Sandro Zhang stays ready! You can't surprise the God King! He is standing there with the two most prestigious prizes in this industry, and he is daring anyone in the locker room to step up!"
"He is a bully, John!" Lawler shot back. "He targets women, he targets management, and tonight, I hope Foley found someone who can finally knock that smirk off his face!"
Sandro walked down the long steel ramp with a slow, predatory swagger. He ignored the fans leaning over the barricades, his dark eyes locked on the squared circle. He climbed the steel steps, wiped his boots on the apron, and ducked through the ropes.
Sandro walked to the center of the ring, unhooking the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship. He handed both belts to a terrified ringside technician through the ropes, rolling his shoulders and stretching his neck, preparing for a fight.
He looked toward the entrance stage, waiting.
Five seconds passed. Then ten.
The stage remained empty. No music played. No pyrotechnics exploded.
A low murmur of confusion began to ripple through the capacity crowd. Sandro crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head. He let out a loud sigh of boredom, tapping his wrist as if checking an invisible watch.
"Is this a joke?" Sandro shouted out to the crowd, laughing openly.
"I told you!" JBL gloated from the desk. "Whoever Foley supposedly hired took one look at the God King standing in that ring and packed their bags! Nobody wants a piece of Sandro Zhang! The man is an absolute machine!"
"Just hold on a minute, John," Cole urged, standing up slightly from his chair. "Foley promised a mysterious opponent. Maybe they are just getting ready."
Sandro shook his head, turning his back on the entrance stage. He looked down at the referee, waving his hand dismissively, demanding the official ring the bell and declare a forfeit.
SCREEECH! CRASH!
The horrific, unmistakable sound of a car violently crashing into a wall ripped through the stadium speakers, freezing Sandro in his tracks.
The lights flickered. A chaotic, unhinged, schizophrenic orchestral theme song suddenly blasted through the arena.
The Atlanta crowd went absolutely, undeniably ballistic. The pop was nuclear, shaking the structural foundations of the building as eighteen thousand fans leaped to their feet in sheer disbelief.
Stepping out from behind the curtain, moving with a jerky, erratic, unsettling gait, was a ghost from the Attitude Era.
He wore a dirty white dress shirt, a loose black tie, and dark sweatpants. But it was the face that sent shockwaves through the wrestling world. Strapped tightly across his head was a grotesque, brown leather mask with heavy steel studs, obscuring his features and giving him the appearance of a deranged asylum inmate. He pulled violently at his own hair, rocking back and forth as he walked.
"Oh my god!" Cole shrieked, completely losing his journalistic composure. "Are you kidding me?! It's Mankind! Mankind is in the Philips Arena!"
"I don't believe my eyes!" Lawler yelled, throwing his hands in the air. "The deranged, unhinged man who was a monster in his own right! Foley didn't hire anybody... he just called someone that have deep dark corner in his mind!"
"This is an outrage!" JBL screamed, his face turning a deep shade of crimson as he ripped his headset half off. "Are you two blind?! That is Mick Foley! He just took off his neck brace and put a stupid leather mask on! This is a blatant abuse of corporate power! A General Manager cannot legally compete against a WWE Superstar!"
