...
McIntyre stood near the barricade, wiping a small trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth. He didn't look angry. Instead, a slow, deeply unsettling smile spread across his face. He looked at Cena, tapping his temple with his index finger, and nodded his head slowly, fully accepting the challenge. He turned and began walking backward up the ramp, his eyes never leaving the champion, the sadistic grin permanently plastered on his face.
"We have a massive main event set for next week!" Cole cheered. "John Cena defending the United States Championship against a completely unhinged Drew McIntyre!"
"Cena just made a massive mistake," JBL warned. "He is letting his anger dictate his business. The Scottish Psychopath is in his head, and next week, Drew is going to take that title right back!"
The broadcast moved forward, keeping the momentum rolling with a fast paced cruiserweight tag team match that kept the Los Angeles crowd firmly on the edge of their seats. As the referee raised the hands of the victors and they cleared the ring, the arena lights shifted to a pulsating, deep red.
The heavy, rhythmic hip hop beat of Nikki Bella's theme song hit the speakers, drawing an immediate, overwhelming wave of boos from the audience.
Nikki stepped through the curtain, looking absolutely radiant in a custom red and gold designer dress. Clasped securely around her waist was the brand new, stunningly beautiful WWE Women's Championship, the white leather and rose gold shining brilliantly under the arena lights.
Flanking her closely were AJ Lee and Alexa Bliss, both dressed in sharp, stylish evening wear, projecting a unified front of absolute superiority.
The three women walked down the steel ramp but stopped halfway. They didn't enter the ring. Instead, they stood together on the ramp, looking back toward the entrance stage, waiting.
KSSSHHH!
The static hit, followed by the heavy, driving guitar riff of Cult of Personality.
The boos from the crowd intensified tenfold, shaking the foundation of the Staples Center. The God King had arrived.
Sandro Zhang stepped out from behind the curtain. He wasn't in his wrestling gear, he wore a perfectly tailored, dark charcoal suit that screamed billionaire elegance. Draped over his right shoulder was the WWE Championship. Over his left, the World Heavyweight Championship.
He looked completely unbothered by the sheer hatred pouring out of the stands. He walked down the ramp with a slow, confident swagger, stopping when he reached his three girlfriends.
Sandro smiled warmly. He leaned in, giving Alexa a soft, lingering kiss on the lips. He turned to AJ, wrapping his free arm around her waist and kissing her deeply. Finally, he turned his attention to Nikki. He looked down at the new championship resting on her waist, a look of immense pride crossing his face, before pulling her in for a passionate, extended kiss that drew even louder, more irritated groans from the audience.
"Look at this display of absolute arrogance," Cole sighed, shaking his head. "They believe they own this company."
"They do own this company, Michael!" JBL laughed, clapping his hands. "Let's not forget that Sandro are the heir to Nexum Core, but look at the gold on that ramp! Sandro Zhang is the Double Champion, and his woman is the Women's Champion! This is wrestling royalty!"
The four of them turned, walking the rest of the way down the ramp as a unified, untouchable royal family. They climbed the steel steps, entering the ring together.
A ringside technician nervously handed AJ Lee two microphones. She passed one to Nikki and handed the other to Sandro, offering him an affectionate smile.
Sandro stood in the center of the ring, flanked by the three women. He raised the microphone to his lips, but the chorus of boos was so loud that he couldn't even speak. He lowered the mic, a condescending smirk on his face, simply waiting for the peasants to quiet down.
"Shut up," Sandro finally demanded, his voice cold and authoritative, cutting through the noise. "Shut your mouths and show some respect when the God King is speaking to you."
The crowd naturally booed louder, but Sandro ignored them, turning his attention to the women standing beside him.
"Last night, I walked into SummerSlam and I did exactly what I said I was going to do," Sandro began, his tone smooth and confident. "I put the final nail in the coffin of WCW, I put Sting to sleep, and I sent your pathetic General Manager to the hospital. But I am not out here tonight to talk about me. I am out here to talk about her."
Sandro gestured toward Nikki.
"Look at this championship," Sandro praised, running his hand lightly over the white leather strap of the new title. "It is a beautiful piece of gold. But it is only fitting that it rests on the waist of a true queen. Nikki Bella didn't just win a match last night, she ended an era. She retired that pathetic butterfly toy, and she brought prestige back to this division."
Sandro stepped back, gesturing to AJ, Nikki, and Alexa as a group.
"These three women are the undeniable future of this industry," Sandro declared proudly. "There is not a single woman in that locker room who can touch them. I read the internet today. I saw the tweets. I saw the little articles calling them the 'Three Terrors' of the women's division."
Sandro let out a dark, satisfied chuckle.
"I love it," Sandro admitted. "It is perfectly fitting. Because they have put terror into the heart of every single woman who dares to lace up a pair of boots. They run this division, and no one is ever going to stop them."
Sandro lowered his microphone, stepping back to let Nikki take the center stage.
Nikki raised her microphone, looking out at the crowd with a haughty, vindictive smile.
"My sister Brie thought she was the star of this family," Nikki said, her voice dripping with venom. "She thought she was untouchable. She thought she could ride her little 'Kind Movement' popularity all the way to the bank. But last night, I proved exactly what I have always known. Brie is nothing without me. She is weak. She is pathetic. And she broke under the pressure."
The crowd booed heavily at the harsh insults directed at the beloved former champion.
"And I know exactly what all of you are thinking," Nikki continued, rolling her eyes. "You think I paid Charlotte and Asuka to attack her. You think I begged them for help. But the truth is far more insulting. I didn't say a single word to them."
Nikki laughed, a cruel, mocking sound.
"They did it all on their own," Nikki revealed proudly. "Charlotte and Asuka aren't stupid. They saw the writing on the wall. They looked at Brie, and they saw a sinking ship. They knew that if they wanted to survive in this new era, they needed to align themselves with the winning team. They simply did what was best for business."
"She is delusional!" Cole argued on commentary. "Charlotte and Asuka didn't help Nikki out of the kindness of their hearts! They did it because they want that championship!"
Right on cue, the regal, commanding horns of Recognition hit the stadium speakers.
The boos continued, but the atmosphere instantly shifted. Charlotte Flair stepped out onto the stage, dressed in a sparkling silver robe, holding a microphone in her hand. She didn't look like a loyal follower. She looked like a predator claiming her territory.
Charlotte strutted down the ramp, stopping at the bottom of the steel steps.
"You're welcome, Nikki," Charlotte said, her voice dripping with condescension. "But let's get one thing perfectly clear. I didn't take your sister out because I wanted to align myself with you. I don't follow anyone. I took Brie out because I was tired of watching her pretend to be a champion."
Charlotte climbed the steps, standing on the ring apron, looking directly at the white and gold title around Nikki's waist.
"I did you a massive favor last night," Charlotte stated confidently. "I handed you that championship. And a Lannister always pays her debts. So, I am cashing in my favor right now. I want a one on one match for the WWE Women's Championship."
Nikki glared at Charlotte, her grip tightening on the microphone. AJ and Alexa stepped forward, placing themselves between Nikki and the Queen. Sandro simply stood back, leaning against the turnbuckle, watching the drama unfold with quiet amusement.
Before Nikki could issue a response, the frenetic, hard hitting beat of The Future blasted through the sound system.
The crowd's reaction fractured again as Asuka burst through the curtain, wearing her traditional, brightly colored kimono and a terrifying, painted Noh mask. She danced erratically down the ramp, removing the mask as she reached the ring, her face painted with a wild, chaotic smile.
Asuka grabbed a microphone from the ringside crew, sliding under the bottom rope, standing directly between Charlotte and the Three Terrors.
Asuka raised the mic, unleashing a rapid, aggressive tirade in rapid fire Japanese, her voice echoing fiercely through the arena. She paced back and forth, pointing at Nikki, then pointing at Charlotte, completely unhinged.
"You!" Asuka yelled, switching to broken, heavily accented English, pointing a commanding finger at Nikki. "You nothing! I break Brie! I kick her head off! You owe ME!"
Asuka turned to Charlotte, stepping directly into the Queen's personal space, refusing to back down an inch.
"No line!" Asuka demanded, tapping her chest. "I am next! Empress is next for title!"
Charlotte sneered, looking down at Asuka. "Get in the back of the line, Asuka. The adults are talking."
Asuka let out a sharp, chaotic laugh, raising her microphone as if she were about to use it as a weapon.
"The women's division is completely exploding!" Lawler yelled as the tension in the ring reached a boiling point. "Charlotte wants a shot! Asuka wants a shot! And Nikki Bella is caught right in the middle of the monsters she helped create!"
Sandro stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Nikki's shoulder, observing the two furious challengers. The God King had absolute faith in his girlfriend, but even he knew that managing the egos of the Queen and the Empress simultaneously was going to be a dangerous, volatile task. The new era of the women's division had officially begun, and the target on Nikki Bella's back was already massive.
The tension in the center of the ring was thick enough to cut with a knife. Asuka stood her ground, her brightly painted face set in a defiant glare, jaw jutting out as she challenged Charlotte Flair. The Queen looked down her nose at the Empress, completely unbothered by the erratic energy, while Nikki Bella, AJ Lee, and Alexa Bliss formed a unified wall of hostility right in front of them.
Sandro watched the volatile scene play out for a few seconds before deciding he had seen enough, as he goes to raise his hands, his tailored charcoal suit catching the bright stadium lights.
"Ladies, ladies," Sandro said, his voice carrying a smooth, patronizing calm through the microphone. "Let's take a breath and lower the volume for just a second."
Charlotte narrowed her eyes, shifting her attention to the Double Champion, while Asuka kept her manic, wide eyed stare locked directly on his face.
"You both marched down that ramp demanding a championship match, acting like you are somehow owed a favor," Sandro continued, pacing slowly between the challengers and his girlfriends. "But let's look at the facts. Nikki never asked for your help last night at SummerSlam. She didn't need your help. You two made the choice to betray Brie on your own. You turned on her because you knew she was weak. You don't get a reward for doing something Nikki was going to do anyway."
Sandro stopped in front of Charlotte, looking her up and down with a dismissive smirk.
"And as for you, Charlotte," Sandro said, his tone dripping with condescension. "You have been on this main roster for quite some time now, haven't you? You walk around calling yourself the Queen. You carry yourself like royalty. But what have you actually done lately? Hitting one move from behind doesn't suddenly push you to the front of the line. You haven't proven you deserve to share a ring with the new Women's Champion."
Charlotte's jaw tightened. She gripped her microphone hard, clearly biting her tongue to keep from lashing out.
Sandro chuckled softly, turning his back on Charlotte to face Asuka. He leaned down slightly, getting right into the personal space of the Empress of Tomorrow.
"And then there's you," Sandro murmured, shaking his head. "You come up here with your face paint and your dancing, living off this supposed undefeated streak you built down in NXT. News flash, Asuka. You aren't in the minor leagues anymore. Maybe you are the Empress down there, but up here on the main roster, you are just another face in the crowd."
Sandro leaned in even closer, his dark eyes locking onto hers. He lowered his voice, delivering the final, stinging insult in sharp, flawless Japanese.
"Omae wa nani mo ataishinai, shin'jin." (You deserve nothing, rookie.)
The Los Angeles crowd buzzed, unsure of the exact translation but fully understanding the venomous delivery. AJ and Alexa smiled smugly from behind him.
Asuka did not look intimidated. The chaotic, wide eyed stare vanished, replaced by a slow, knowing smirk. She let out a sharp, mocking laugh that echoed through the sound system.
And then, with blinding speed, Asuka swung her arm.
SMACK!
The open-handed slap echoed like a gunshot across the Staples Center. Asuka caught Sandro perfectly across the cheek, her hand leaving a bright red mark on the God King's pristine face.
The arena erupted!
Eighteen thousand fans jumped out of their seats, roaring in absolute shock and pure delight.
"Oh my god!" Cole screamed from the commentary desk. "Asuka just slapped the taste out of the God King's mouth!"
"Yes! Finally!" Lawler cheered wildly. "Somebody put him in his place!"
"Are you kidding me?!" JBL yelled, slamming his hand on the desk, his face turning red with anger. "She has no right to touch the Double Champion! She just signed her own death warrant!"
Inside the ring, the atmosphere froze. Charlotte let out a loud, highly amused laugh, stepping back to watch the fireworks. AJ, Alexa, and Nikki instantly lunged forward, furious that someone had dared to strike their boyfriend, but Sandro held up a single hand, stopping the three women in their tracks.
Sandro slowly turned his head back around. He touched his stinging cheek with his fingertips, looking at the makeup smeared on his skin.
He looked at Asuka. His eyes were completely dead, void of any humanity or restraint.
"You laid your hands on me first," Sandro whispered, a dark, unsettling chuckle escaping his lips.
Before Asuka could even raise her guard, Sandro lashed out. He drove the toe of his expensive leather dress shoe directly into Asuka's midsection with a vicious, brutal kick.
The crowd's cheers instantly transformed into a deafening wave of hostile boos and panicked shrieks.
Asuka doubled over, gasping for air, the microphone tumbling from her hands. Sandro didn't hesitate. He grabbed the Empress by her brightly colored hair, hauling her up, and ducked under her arm. With terrifying ease, he lifted Asuka onto his shoulders, locking her into the electric chair position, preparing to drive her headfirst into the canvas with the Falls From Grace.
Charlotte Flair's amusement vanished. Realizing the sheer danger of the situation, the Queen dropped her microphone and lunged forward to save her rival.
But the Three Terrors were waiting.
AJ Lee, Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Bella swarmed Charlotte like a pack of wolves. Nikki hit Charlotte with a heavy forearm, while Alexa tackled her by the waist. AJ leaped onto Charlotte's back, locking in a sleeper hold and dragging the Queen down to the mat in a furious, three on one beatdown.
"This is disgusting!" Cole shouted, absolute revulsion in his voice. "Sandro Zhang is about to break Asuka's neck! We have seen him do this before! He has no conscience! Someone get out there and stop this!"
"Stop this?!" JBL fired back, aggressively defending the God King. "She assaulted him, Michael! She slapped him in the face! This is what true equality looks like! You put your hands on the God King, you suffer the consequences!"
Sandro stood in the center of the ring, Asuka trapped helplessly on his shoulders. He looked out at the booing crowd, an arrogant, cruel smile spreading across his face. He prepared to drop to his knees and end her career.
CLICK.
The stadium lights violently shut off.
The Staples Center was plunged into pitch-black darkness. The crowd let out a massive gasp, a surge of adrenaline washing over the arena.
"What's happening?!" Lawler panicked in the dark.
For ten agonizing seconds, nothing but the sound of confused shouting and the low hum of the arena's generators could be heard.
FLASH.
The lights snapped back on.
The landscape of the ring had completely shifted. Down at ringside, Asuka was leaning heavily against the barricade, coughing and catching her breath, safely out of harm's way. Standing right beside her was Charlotte, looking up at the ring in shock.
Inside the squared circle, AJ, Alexa, and Nikki were looking around wildly, completely confused as to how their victims had managed to escape in the darkness.
Sandro stood in the center of the ring, his arms still raised in the electric chair position, holding nothing but empty air. He blinked, a look of deep confusion crossing his face. He slowly lowered his arms, realizing his prey had vanished.
He spun around.
Standing directly behind him was Sting.
The Staples Center blew the roof off the building. The roar was deafening, a visceral explosion of pure joy. The Icon was still wearing his wrestling gear from SummerSlam, his face paint heavily smeared from the war the night before, and in his hands, he gripped his signature black baseball bat.
Sandro's eyes went wide. He took a hasty step backward, raising his hands.
Sting didn't say a word. He swung the heavy wooden bat like a professional slugger, driving the thick barrel directly into Sandro's ribs.
CRACK!
Sandro let out a breathless yell, folding over as the wind was forcefully violently knocked from his lungs. Sting didn't stop. He raised the bat and brought it down mercilessly across Sandro's back. Smack! The billionaire champion crashed into the canvas, his expensive suit tearing at the seams.
