...
AJ scrambled to her feet, her arrogance entirely wiped from her face. She realized a frontal assault was suicide. AJ darted forward, utilizing a low single leg takedown to chop the big woman down. Beth fell to one knee. AJ immediately transitioned to the back, wrapping her arms around Beth's neck in a tight sleeper hold, trying to suffocate the powerhouse.
Beth struggled, her face turning red. The crowd rallied behind her, stomping their feet. Beth fought to a vertical base, carrying the parasitic weight of the champion on her back. With a guttural roar, Beth threw herself backward, crushing AJ between her own back and the turnbuckles!
AJ broke the hold, stumbling forward. Beth capitalized instantly. She grabbed AJ, hoisted her up for a delayed vertical suplex, and held the champion upside down for an incredible, lung-burning fifteen seconds!
"Look at the absolute raw power of the Glamazon!" Lawler cheered. "The blood is rushing to AJ's head! Beth is putting on a physical clinic!"
Beth finally brought AJ down, the mat shaking from the impact. Beth hooked the leg!
One! Two!
AJ managed to kick out, rolling frantically toward the ropes to create distance.
"Beth Phoenix is dominating the early goings!" Cole noted. "But you cannot count out the Divas Champion. She is as resilient as they come."
"AJ is just biding her time, Michael," JBL defended. "She is letting the meathead tire herself out before applying superior technical strategy!"
AJ used the ropes to pull herself up. As Beth charged in for a running clothesline, AJ expertly dropped to the mat, hitting a flawless drop toe hold that sent Beth crashing face first into the middle turnbuckle.
The momentum instantly shifted. AJ popped up, hitting the ropes, and connected with a brutal, sliding dropkick to the side of Beth's head. The Glamazon rolled onto her back, completely dazed.
AJ climbed the top turnbuckle with lightning speed. She launched herself into the air, connecting with a beautiful, high angle diving crossbody!
One! Two!
Beth powered out, simply bench pressing the champion off of her.
The match evolved into an absolute, instant classic showcase of contrasting styles. It was the unstoppable force against the highly elusive, technically brilliant object.
Beth managed to catch a kick from AJ, spinning the champion around and hitting a devastating tilt a whirl backbreaker. Beth transitioned seamlessly into a brutal ground and pound assault, raining down heavy, closed fist right hands directly to the champion's face, completely uncaring of the referee's warnings.
"Beth Phoenix is trying to permanently alter the facial structure of the Divas Champion!" Cole yelled over the roar of the crowd.
"She is a barbarian!" JBL shrieked. "Get her off! The referee needs to disqualify her!"
Beth hauled AJ to her feet, whipping her into the ropes. But AJ reversed the Irish whip, sending Beth across the ring. As the Glamazon rebounded, AJ leaped into the air, wrapping her legs around Beth's head, and executed a breathtaking, wildly rotational flying hurricanrana that spiked Beth directly onto the top of her skull!
"What an incredible counter from the champion!" Striker applauded. "AJ Lee is incredibly dangerous from anywhere in the ring!"
AJ didn't go for a pin. She immediately zeroed in on Beth's left arm, looking to systematically dismantle the Glamazon's power base. AJ locked in a vicious Fujiwara armbar, wrenching the limb back with terrifying, sociopathic intent.
Beth screamed in agony, desperately reaching for the bottom rope.
On the outside, Nikki Bella and Alexa Bliss began slapping the ring apron, taunting Beth, telling her to tap out and submit to the Undisputed System.
"Look at those two vultures circling the ring," Lawler complained in disgust. "They are just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike!"
"They are providing moral support, King!" JBL argued. "Something a traitor like you wouldn't understand!"
Beth Phoenix, refusing to quit, used her incredible leg strength to push herself up. She rolled forward, breaking the armbar, and hit a massive, desperate clothesline that turned AJ inside out.
Both women lay flat on their backs, absolutely exhausted. The Oakland crowd began a massive, appreciative chant of "THIS IS WRESTLING! THIS IS WRESTLING!"
"Listen to this sold out crowd!" Cole said, his voice filled with awe. "They are witnessing an absolute masterclass for the Divas Championship!"
Beth was the first to her feet, favoring her left arm. She dragged AJ up, hitting a brutal scoop slam, followed by a massive running leg drop. She hooked the leg!
One! Two!
AJ kicked out again!
Frustration boiled over on the outside. Alexa Bliss hopped up onto the ring apron, screaming at the referee, demanding he check AJ's boots. The referee completely fell for the distraction, turning his back on the competitors to argue with Alexa.
On the other side of the ring, Nikki Bella slid a solid steel folding chair under the bottom rope directly to AJ Lee.
"Look at this!" Cole yelled in pure disgust. "Nikki Bella is handing the champion a weapon! This is exactly how the Undisputed System operates!"
"It's called resourcefulness!" JBL cackled. "AJ is going to knock her block off!"
AJ grabbed the steel chair, slowly rising to her feet as Beth Phoenix stumbled backward. AJ swung the chair with lethal intent, aiming directly for the Glamazon's skull!
But Beth Phoenix ducked!
The heavy steel chair rebounded off the top rope, snapping back and striking AJ Lee squarely in her own face!
The champion collapsed to the mat, completely unconscious.
"AJ JUST HIT HERSELF WITH THE CHAIR!" Lawler shrieked in absolute hysterics. "KARMA HAS FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO THE UNDISPUTED SYSTEM!"
Beth quickly grabbed the steel chair, tossing it out of the ring so the referee wouldn't see it. She hauled the lifeless body of the Divas Champion up to her feet. Beth hooked AJ's arms, locking them in perfectly behind the champion's back, and hoisted her high into the air!
"She's got the Glam Slam hooked!" Striker yelled. "We are about to see a new champion!"
But as Beth prepared to drive AJ into the canvas, Nikki Bella slid into the ring! Nikki charged forward, hitting a desperate, massive forearm smash directly to the back of Beth's neck!
The referee spun around, finally catching the blatant interference!
"Ring the bell!" the official shouted, waving his arms to the timekeeper.
DING! DING! DING!
"No! No! No!" Cole screamed, slamming his hands on the desk as the crowd unleashed a deafening wave of hostile boos. "The referee has called for the disqualification! Nikki Bella just intentionally got her team disqualified to save the championship!"
"It is a brilliant tactical sacrifice!" JBL cheered wildly, completely overjoyed. "Nikki took the bullet! Because championships do not change hands on a disqualification! The God King's gold remains entirely secure!"
"It's an absolute outrage!" Lawler yelled over the boos. "Beth Phoenix had that match won! She had the Glam Slam locked in! She was robbed!"
Inside the ring, the beatdown commenced. AJ Lee, slowly recovering from the chair shot, joined Nikki and Alexa. The three women mercilessly stomped out the exhausted Glamazon. AJ grabbed her Divas Championship, raising it high above Beth's broken body, an arrogant, sickening smile on her face.
"AJ Lee retains the Divas Championship by the skin of her teeth," Cole noted bitterly as the Queens backed up the ramp, clutching their stolen victory. "The Undisputed System survives the opening bout. But the night is just beginning, ladies and gentlemen. And the God King still has to step inside the Elimination Chamber."
The camera zoomed in on the massive, unforgiving steel structure hanging above the ring, the ultimate battleground where Sandro Zhang's destiny, and the fate of his Triple Crown Era, would be decided.
"But before we reach the Devil's Playground," Cole announced, his voice regaining its steady, broadcasting cadence after the chaotic opening bout, "we have another massive championship collision. The golden armor of the Undisputed System is about to be tested once again."
"And not just tested, Michael, it might be entirely shattered!" Lawler cheered, a massive, expectant grin spreading across his face. "The locker room rebellion has reached an absolute fever pitch! Tonight, two of the greatest superstars in WWE history have put their past differences completely aside to form a united front against the God King's empire!"
"It's a desperate, pathetic alliance!" JBL scoffed, waving his hand in disgust. "These two men despise each other! But they are so terrified of the absolute dominance of Sandro Zhang that they have no choice but to hold hands and pray for a miracle! The WWE Tag Team Championships are not going anywhere!"
"I wouldn't be so sure, John," Striker interjected, adjusting his glasses. "We are talking about a combined fifteen World Championships between these two challengers. They possess elite ring IQs, ruthless aggression, and a shared hatred for the Undisputed System. This is the ultimate threat to Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre."
The Oracle Arena suddenly plunged into absolute, pitch-black darkness.
"YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME..."
The aggressive, pulsating opening drumbeat of Alter Bridge's "Metalingus" exploded through the sound system, instantly transitioning and mashing up with the slow, methodical, terrifyingly calm vocals of "I Hear Voices In My Head."
The Oakland crowd absolutely detonated. The pop was deafening, a visceral roar of pure, unadulterated nostalgia and excitement.
Bursting through the curtain, side by side, were the Rated-R Superstar, Edge, and the Viper, Randy Orton. Rated-RKO had officially reunited.
Edge looked like a coiled spring, his long hair falling in his face, his eyes wide and manic as he threw up the "horns" gesture to the explosive pyro blasting behind them.
Randy Orton walked with his signature, slow, calculating strut, his cold, reptilian eyes locked dead ahead. They marched down the long steel ramp, completely absorbing the incredible energy of the sold out arena, and slid under the bottom rope together.
Edge bounded up the turnbuckles, throwing his arms wide, while Orton climbed the opposite corner, hitting his iconic pose, basking in the adoration of a fanbase desperate to see the golden empire fall.
The stadium lights shifted violently to a blinding, oppressive gold.
The heavy, distorted bass drop of "SHOCK THE SYSTEM" completely hijacked the arena speakers.
The cheers were instantly swallowed by a massive, aggressive tidal wave of hostile boos.
Stepping out from the curtain, moving with the terrifying, synchronized precision of a military hit squad, were the defending WWE Tag Team Champions, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre.
They did not look intimidated by the legendary status of their challengers. They looked infuriated. The humiliating fourteen man tag team loss they had suffered six days prior on Monday Night RAW was still burning fresh in their minds.
Barrett, the bare knuckle brawler, sneered at the crowd, the gold gleaming around his waist. McIntyre, the Scottish Psychopath, looked completely devoid of empathy, his dead eyes fixed squarely on Edge and Orton.
"Here come the champions," Cole noted, the tension in his voice palpable. "And they look like they are ready to commit a homicide tonight."
"They are focused! They are dialed in!" JBL praised loudly over the boos. "The God King has given them a direct mandate, eliminate Rated-RKO, protect the gold, and restore the absolute authority of the Undisputed System! Barrett and McIntyre are the greatest tag team on the planet!"
The champions marched down the aisle, completely ignoring the fans, and entered the ring. They unfastened the WWE Tag Team Championships, shoving them aggressively into the chest of the referee.
The official held the titles high in the air, officially declaring the stakes for this massive confrontation, before handing them to the timekeeper.
The referee ordered Orton and McIntyre out to the ring apron. Edge and Wade Barrett remained in the center of the ring as the legal men.
The official checked with both competitors, ensuring they were ready, and signaled for the bell.
DING! DING! DING!
The absolute fraction of a second the bell echoed through the Oracle Arena, the ring exploded into violence. There was no feeling out process. There was no collar and elbow tie up. Edge and Wade Barrett surged forward simultaneously, colliding in the dead center of the ring in a chaotic, wildly aggressive brawl!
Edge unleashed a blistering, rapid-fire sequence of right and left forearms to Barrett's jaw. Barrett, relying on his bare knuckle background, absorbed the blows and fired back with heavy, concussive, closed fist body shots that echoed off Edge's ribs.
Smack! Smack! Smack!
Edge gained the upper hand, grabbing Barrett by the hair and driving him into the turnbuckles. The Rated-R Superstar unleashed a flurry of chaotic, erratic punches, rubbing his forearm aggressively across Barrett's face, completely disregarding the referee's warnings to break it up. Edge whipped Barrett across the ring, dropping his head for a back-body drop.
Barrett anticipated it, delivering a stiff kick to Edge's chest. As Edge stood up, Barrett hit the ropes, looking for a massive running clothesline. But Edge ducked underneath, popped up, and caught Barrett on the rebound with a beautiful, high angle flapjack that planted the Englishman face first into the canvas!
"Edge is on absolute fire!" Lawler shrieked in delight. "He is taking the fight directly to the champion!"
Edge immediately dragged Barrett toward his corner and tagged the outstretched hand of Randy Orton.
The Viper stepped over the top rope, his movements deliberate, methodical, and incredibly dangerous. Orton stomped aggressively on Barrett's joints, an ankle, a knee, a wrist, a shoulder, systematically dissecting the champion on the mat.
Orton dragged Barrett up, hooking his arm, and delivered a flawless, picture perfect European uppercut that sent Barrett stumbling backward into the hostile corner.
Barrett desperately lunged forward, tagging the Scottish Psychopath.
Drew McIntyre stepped through the ropes, bringing a terrifying level of overwhelming power to the contest. Orton and McIntyre circled each other, a true clash of apex predators.
They locked up, and McIntyre immediately utilized his sheer size advantage, powering Orton into the corner and burying a series of brutal, driving shoulder thrusts directly into Orton's midsection.
McIntyre whipped Orton across the ring with terrifying force. As Orton rebounded, McIntyre launched himself into the air, connecting with a devastating flying clothesline that turned the Viper completely inside out!
"Look at the sheer power of Drew McIntyre!" JBL cheered wildly. "That is why they hold the gold! You cannot out muscle the Undisputed System!"
McIntyre dragged Orton to his feet, hoisted him effortlessly into the air, and planted him with a catastrophic, release vertical suplex that rattled the ring boards. McIntyre didn't even bother going for the pin. He dragged Orton to the golden corner and tagged Barrett back in.
The Undisputed System began to operate like a well oiled machine, completely cutting the ring in half and isolating Randy Orton. The champions utilized a brilliant, highly effective piece of tandem offense. McIntyre held Orton in a front facelock while Barrett came off the second rope with a devastating diving elbow drop directly to the back of Orton's neck!
Barrett hooked the leg!
One! Two!
Orton kicked out, but the damage was compounding.
For the next ten minutes, the match evolved into a grueling, methodical clinic of classic, textbook tag team isolation strategy. The champions kept the pace slow, grounding the Viper with punishing reverse chinlocks and targeted ground and pound assaults. Barrett hit Orton with a brutal, sickening knee lift to the jaw, followed by his signature Winds of Change spinning side slam that nearly drove Orton through the mat.
