What is redemption? What should the form of redemption be like?
This question has been placed before Roland more than once. From the moment he learned the whole truth, he has continuously pondered and sought answers.
Everyone has a different definition of redemption: love, respect, equality, understanding, communication, death — these can all be forms of redemption or endpoints of it. Overall, redemption has no fixed form or method, nor a so-called standard answer; it can only be defined according to the specific object and situation.
Redeeming one person is already incredibly difficult. How are people to redeem a world, a dead undead, and its container?
Roland's answer is to simultaneously redeem each other while redeeming oneself.
Besides pulling the trigger, can't we have other choices — whether this proposition is valid shouldn't be decided by a debate between one or two people. It should be something everyone faces together, thinks about together, and chooses together.
