Chapter 35 - 3.1

Chapter 3: Beginning Trials of U.A. High

It took the students several hours to complete the written exam, but after they completed the written portion, they were ushered by Present Mic to finally take the practical where they would take out robots. Before going to the stations, everyone changed out of their school uniforms and into something that provides a lot of movement for fighting. Izuku changed into a light blue sleeveless shirt and shorts with white stripes going on both sides of the clothes. Katsuki's is also a sleeveless shirt but black, wore long dark green pants, and a red belt with pouches. After that, they went to the battle station their numbers assigned them to as everyone was split up into different groups. Izuku and Katsuki fist bumped each other and wished one another luck as they went their separate ways.

As of now Izuku is standing in front of a large gate with walls surrounding a replica of a large city. He takes a moment to look at his fellow competitors while he does some simple stretches to prepare himself for the test. However, as he glances at the others he sees the same girl from before who stopped him from tripping over himself at the U.A. gates. He remembered that neither he nor Katsuki thanked her for helping him and he tried to walk in order to do so. Unfortunately, he feels something land on his left shoulder and looks back to see the same uptight, glasses boy.

"She looks like she's trying to focus on the trials ahead. What are you going to do, distract her and ruin her chances to succeed?" He accused as Izuku turned around with an annoyed glare.

"No, I was going to thank her for helping me out earlier. Seriously, stop trying to stick your nose into everyone's business." The taller boy flinched from being talked to but before he could retort, everyone around them began talking about the green-head.

"Hey, check him out. It's the dude from the sludge villain attack!"

"Woah really, he's here. Damn it!"

"He can turn into some sort of monster right?"

"Yeah, I don't know what kind but I heard he can fly."

"Man, talk about having an advantage and a strong Quirk."

Izuku becomes even more annoyed now that people seem to recognize him from the sludge villain attack. He wonders if Katsuki's also suffering the same treatment until he hears Present Mic about to start the test. Deciding not to waste any more time, Izuku ran forward and leaped into the air just as the siren starts. Somersaulting, Izuku transforms into his Dumuren form as everyone who was about to start running turned around and stared at him in awe. The now-transformed Dumuren Shifter flies through the air and passes the gate as he hears the Voice Hero telling everyone to get moving already as they're wasting time. As he reached the first group of robots, he considered using One For All until he remembered the conversation with All Might the day he gained his power.

"Huh, you want me to use just my Dumuren Quirk?" Izuku questioned as he and Katsuki looked at All Might.

"I know I said you're ready, but I want your body to adjust to OFA. We don't know if you can actually handle One For All completely yet, so on the safe side, I want you to use only your Dumuren Quirk to get through the Entrance Exam while we figure out where you are with this power." All Might instructed as Izuku paused for a moment, thought about it, and nodded.

"Damn, I wanted to see OFA in action." Katsuki muttered as he rubbed his head. All Might laughed wholeheartedly as he placed his hands on Izuku and Katsuki's shoulders.

"I know, I know, but we'll get to that later. Right now, I want you both to go home and get plenty of rest before the test tomorrow. You two have come a long way in the span of just ten months and I know you both will do great, but whether you fail or not, I'm proud of you two." The two boys smile with happiness as they eagerly nod their heads and begin packing their things to go home. They wave All Might goodbye as they disappear from his line of sight and he stares off into the sunset.

After remembering his conversation with All Might, Izuku forgoes summoning OFA and uses Plasma Claw instead on the three one-point robots. He flies through them with speed and grace as the classic *shing* is heard and the robots fall apart as the claw cuts burnt red hot from the heat. The Dumuren Shifter continues flying on ahead as every robot he encounters, he takes care of it with Plasma attacks, Siren Screams , and Sonic Boom clicks. The other competitors scatter across the station as they attack robot after robot as Izuku is able to see and recognize some of them in the sky. He sees the girl who helped him using her Quirk on several of the machines to make them float and then fall to the floor. Izuku already theorized that her power's related to something akin to zero gravity as his gaze shifts to the blue-haired boy.

The glasses kid runs around dodging a three-point robot's arm as he leaps into the air and violently kicks its face apart. Not much guessing that his Quirk involved his legs or speed as Izuku's focus shifts when he hears a scream. He turns his head onwards to see a three-point robot advancing on a helpless competitor who somehow trapped himself in robot parts. He struggles to get loose but he can't as the robot raises its arm and prepares to strike. Without wasting a moment's hesitation, Izuku dives down to land until he's in front of the person before blasting the machine apart with Plasma Breath .

Shielding himself and the person with his wings, the dust and debris finally clears enough for Izuku to dig the poor guy out of the rubble. The person thanks him earnestly before running off as the Dumuren Shifter nods before taking off once again, but this time listening in for anyone in need of help or a sudden robot about to catch them off guard. The minutes went by as Izuku splits his time by destroying robots and saving his fellow competitors. Despite the villains being robots and this all being a test, Izuku has to admit that it feels like a real battle where he's the hero fighting to protect lives and take down criminals. He wonders if this is what All Might feels like whenever he's in battle, and he's curious if Katsuki feels the same way right now.

In a large monitoring room where all the teachers, except Present Mic, are watching the students as they continue beating up robots. A white mouse… bear… dog… thing was sitting in the front middle seat as he glanced at several of the children battling, searching, or scouting out the area for any more competition.

"Clearly, the examinees have no idea how many villains are present or their location. They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target. Some use information-gathering abilities to plan out strategies while others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers. Of course, remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage as can pure power and combat ability. The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics, they're the ones who rack up the highest scores." The creature, or more precisely U.A. High's very own Principal Nezu comments as the videos switch constantly to view as many students as they can. So far the ones on the current screen are the glasses boy, another male with a laser coming out of his belly button, the gravity girl, Katsuki, and Izuku.

"Hm, I'd say this year's group looks promising." A woman with crazy dark blue hair states. She's wearing a white skin-tight leotard with black heels, dark purple thigh highs, and the same colored corset with red rubies stitched onto them. She also had handcuffs on her wrists and was wearing thin, fancy red glasses.

"Well, there's still plenty of time before it's over. The real test has yet to come, let's see how they react." A cowboy-looking hero says. He had a gas mask with fancy light purple ropes coming from both sides, a mustard-beige poncho that covered almost his entire body, beige baggy pants, light brown gloves, and cowboy style boots. His right hand comes out of his poncho as he holds a trigger and presses the button.

All Might sits a few seats by him as he stares at the trigger before directing his attention back to the screen. The robot may cost zero-points for anyone, but the size will frighten the students a lot. The launching of the zero-point machines is to test a person's true character when faced with danger, and everyone is eager to see how they'll react.

Izuku continues flying after helping another competitor to her feet as the ground unexpectedly shakes. He and everyone else raises their heads to see a very large robot come from behind a building: the zero-point robot. The examinees scream as several of them begin running away as Izuku stays, hesitant to either fight it or fly away. He remembered that Present Mic recommended them to run away and ignore the thing, but he wanted to stay and take the thing head on.

The robot then punches the ground as debris flies everywhere as Izuku shields his face again with his wings. Rubble is sent flying all over the place, smashing buildings, breaking glass, and rupturing the street even further. By this point, everyone is screaming their heads off as they run away in fear while Present Mic announces that there's only two minutes left. Izuku wasn't concerned about time, but more about if someone is hurt by this thing.

And his question is answered when he hears a meek 'ow' coming before him, he couldn't see because of the smoke so he fans some of it away with his wings. The dust cleared as he sees the gravity girl with her leg trapped under some debris, mostly caused by the robot when it punched the floor. The poor girl struggles and she begs someone to help her while trying to get away from the advancing robot about to smash her. Whether it's the Dumuren part of his Quirk that's taking over as its role as Humanity's Guardian, or it's Izuku's genuine desire to help, it's unknown as he rushes over to her.

Izuku uses his wings to make himself go faster as he quickly removes the rubble from her crushed leg and holds her in his arms. The robot continues moving and would've crushed the two if Izuku hadn't flown away with the girl secured tightly in his arms. He flies at full speed until he's caught up with the students that have stopped running and turned to look at the robot in fear. Once he gets close enough to them that he can safely and surely drop the girl gently on the ground, Izuku turns to the humongous robot. He snarls loudly as he takes off, because even if this is a test the robot is still dangerous, evidential when it almost killed the girl.

He continues flying as he gets closer to reach the robot's head. After all, the head's the most dangerous thing of all but also the biggest weakness because if you go for the head, you're dead. Aggression, fear, and protectiveness flared within him, the same feelings that appeared when he saw Katsuki held in the slime villain's grip that day. It made him want to protect everyone in the battle station by taking out this monster of a robot. The machine tried to take him out with its arm but Izuku dodged and continued to rush at the head as it fixated its gaze on him. He remembered what All Might said about using OFA in the test, but Izuku didn't care as he forgotten every warning and summoned the legendary Quirk.

He finally finished arriving at the top of its face as he bares his teeth and pulls his right arm back to use OFA and Plasma Claw. However, unlike how the move usually looks with his claws glowing bright white and hot, the move had plasma taking the shape of four razor sharp claws surrounding his paw as it glowed in various shades of purple, blue, and white. The spots and scales on his right arm begin glowing as red vein-like markings climb up his arm and criss-cross with each other, the spots, and scales like a puzzle. Power floods through him as Izuku can feel it, like a warmth that makes you feel safe, protected, and secure, that no one will harm you as long as you have OFA to protect you. Without any warning, Izuku launches his right paw forward as the plasma solidified claws grow in gargantuan size and violently slice the robot's face until there's nothing but a destroyed head with huge claw marks, burning metal, and lava-like liquid pouring from the cuts on its head as it breaks apart.

Explosions pop out of the robot's body as it crumbles down into bits as everyone below them stared in shock. As the claws dissipate, Izuku was snapped out of his stupor when he realized what he had done as he widens his eyes before feeling immense pain and heat coursing through him from his right arm. It was like he put his entire paw on a heating pan and then shoved his entire arm through a 4,000 degree Fahrenheit fire as he felt his flesh burn. Izuku looked down at his arm, the skin was charred black with cuts running through the burn, blood burnt as creases of red were shown. Honestly, Izuku was more surprised that his arm wasn't fried right off his socket joints, but not only that, all the bones in his arm and hand are completely broken. He could feel the shards of bone jagging the insides of his muscles as though they wanted to come out of his skin. He cursed himself when he felt his body temperature rising instead of falling, OFA must've increased the Plasma's heat to a near infinite rate if it left that kind of damage on the robot. His flying wavers a little before restabilizing himself and he flies down slowly as he tries to deal with his body heat and broken, painful arm.

"AND THAT'S IT! TIME'S UP!" Izuku hears Present Mic call out as he lands on the ground ungracefully as he turns back to normal. He pants exhaustively as he collapses onto one leg while he holds his injured arm and cools down his body, all the while hearing the other competitors talk about him from behind.

"Did you see that attack? He practically sliced and melted that robot with just one hit!"

"Yeah, but look at his arm. Didn't think with all those attacks he's been dishing out could hurt him so badly."

"Must be a reserved Special Move or something. Man, talk about a double-edged sword that's your trump card."

"Double-edged sword or not, that attack was awesome though."

Among those still talking about the Dumuren Shifter was the glasses boy. He saw everything that happened, how that examinee didn't hesitate to rescue the girl and take down the robot even though it costed zero points. He didn't do it for show either, he did it because he genuinely wanted to help the girl who was trapped and looking for someone to help her. The blue-haired male was ashamed that he didn't help her himself, as he swore that if the exam was real life, then he would've done the same thing to save a helpless civilian. Then something clicked in his head as he turned to the outside of the arena. The judges were sure to have seen his action so does that mean the boy knew that they were watching him and that unleashing the enormous robot was a test of character?

"Very nice, good work all around. You're heroes in my eyes, every one of you. Here, reward yourselves, have some gummies but don't eat them all at once." A very short, elderly woman said as she uses a cane that resembles a syringe as the examinees make a path for her. While walking she gives some gummy bears to a male student who takes it awkwardly and nicely.

"Oh my goodness, you were hurt this badly by your own Quirk, sonny? Gimme some sugar." She stops in front of Izuku and motions for him to kneel as she kisses his forehead gently. Everyone around them looks aghast by her action but the boy with the belly button laser reveals her identity.

"That mademoiselle, she's the heart of U.A.. You're watching a school nurse in action: The Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl! Her Quirk is tres awesome boost of healing power, she's the only reason U.A. can hold these reckless exams. Look, she's saving him months of recovery time." She leans away from the green-head as he glows a light green aura. He looks at his right arm and sees the charred skin become its normal healthy color. The broken bones, twisted fingers, and bent arm turned back to its original form, as though the attack hadn't taken a toll on his arm at all.

The pain slowly went away but as it went, he felt exhausted afterwards. He shouldn't feel so exhausted though, he barely broke a sweat in just ten minutes until he remembered that Recovery Girl's power drains stamina in order to heal a person's injury. Izuku stared at her as she checked on anyone who was possibly injured, especially the girl that was trapped before. As much as Izuku wanted to see if the girl was alright, he decided she was in good hands and wanted to see if either he or Katsuki passed the exam.

Four days have passed with no notice from U.A. High for either Katsuki or Izuku as the teachers and judges need to take time to figure out who's worth being a student at the best hero school in all of Japan. While the two are sure to have passed the written part of the exam as they studied extremely hard for it, they wondered how the practical exam would turn out. Like Izuku, Katsuki had also taken out robots and saved some of the examinees who were "stupid or reckless", like he's one to talk about doing something stupid or reckless. He also took out a zero-point robot himself, but unlike Izuku's severe injury, all Katsuki had were sore, aching arms. Lucky bastardd, Izuku thought!

At the moment, Izuku is eating lunch with his mother until he gets a message from Katsuki that his letter from U.A. had arrived. Izuku and Inko encouraged Katsuki to open it but he wanted to wait until Izuku got his so they can open them together. Mitsuki and Masaru didn't object as they and Inko agreed to do it at the Bakugo residence since the last time they visited it was at the Midoriya apartment. They've always done their hangouts in a pattern. It wasn't until much later in the day that Izuku's letter finally came but it was late, so everyone agreed to do it tomorrow morning. Plus, it'd give the parents time to get their things for U.A. High if they did it that early in the day.

Come the said day, Izuku and Inko washed up, ate breakfast, and drove out to meet with the Bakugo family in their house as Katsuki practically bursted out of the house door and dragged Izuku and Inko inside. Mitsuki and Masaru scolded him but he apologized as he was anxious to see how they did. After things got settled, the two pull out their letters, took a deep breath, and opened them to find unique disks falling out of them. Everyone stared in shock before the two boys pressed the buttons and two holographic screens of All Might in a yellow work suit and a gold and red fancy background behind him.

"Booyah! I am here as a projection now!" All Might shouted as Izuku and Katsuki widened their eyes. Wait, All Might is giving a message? Does that mean…? "I know it's been a while but with great power comes a great amount of paperwork, my apologies, young man. The truth is, I didn't come to this city just to fight villains, you're looking at the newest U.A. faculty member!"

'Wait, All Might is working at U.A. High!" Izuku and Katsuki's eyes become even larger as their parents also widen their eyes. Though the adults can tell that the boys are very excited about this as their hairs are shaking a little and they smirk at them.

"Alright, moving on. You have passed the written exam portion with very impressive scores, might I add some of the best." Izuku and Katsuki's parents smiled at each other while said kids blushed at the praise. "For the practical part, you did an outstanding job in not just defeating robots but also another factor thrown into it. You were incredible and your actions inspire people as the practical part wasn't graded on combat alone. How could a hero course reject someone who is committed to saving others, no matter the consequence to him or herself? After all, that's what makes a hero, and that's what my alma mater is all about. Training those who would risk their lives for the greater good so we had rescue points. A panel of judges watches and they award points for heroic acts beyond just fighting villains."

The screen splits up into mini screens to show Izuku and Katsuki fighting robots and saving lives, the most prominent however, were both boys taking out the zero-point robots. Izuku looked at Katsuki in wonder as the ash blonde blushed and tried to pull a smug look but failed. The greenette playfully pushed him until Inko and Mitsuki touched their shoulders as the screen turned into a scoring board. Izuku was in first place with 85 villain points and 65 rescue points while Katsuki was second place with 75 points and 50 rescue points.

"Welcome Izuku/Katsuki, you have made it! Come to our hero academia!"

The screen of All Might giving them a thumbs up then turns into fireworks as Inko, Mitsuki, and Masaru happily hug the two boys as they cheered. The two did it! They made it into U.A. High! It was a time for celebration, so they decided to go out once again at a famous restaurant that they're extremely familiar with. They also contacted Yubi and Inei to come as they also managed to get into their desired high schools as well. The day was crazy as everyone began talking about uniforms, school supplies, hero outfits, classes they'll take, the people they'll meet, and everything else. It was like the first day of school when they were little kids, it was hectic. But Izuku and Katsuki consider this day to be better than their other days as it's a day to be happy and get ready to go to U.A. High.

The last few days of middle school weren't interesting as everyone congratulated Izuku and Katsuki for making it into U.A. High. It was tiring to be in middle school but they managed to get by as they have to get things ready for high school, the real challenge that awaits the two boys. Everything passed by so quickly as Yubi and Inei tearfully said their goodbyes to Izuku and Katsuki as they separated and won't see each other for a while, but this isn't the last time they'll meet up though.

At the moment, Katsuki was spending Friday and Saturday night at Inko and Izuku's apartment. He was making the two his favorite curry to try something else besides Katsudon in the household. He had finished making three bowls of curry and cleaning up the kitchen counter that he went out to try and find Inko and Izuku. Just as he was about to call out, he saw a door near the bathroom open and peeks inside to find the two praying in front of the shrine dedicated to Hisashi. Katsuki steps away and looks on, not wanting to interrupt the moment. After a few minutes the two stand and finally see the ash blonde.

"Didn't want to intrude, but… uhh… the food's… ready." He rubbed his head awkwardly as he blushed as Inko and Izuku smiled tenderly. The mother patted his head as he closed his red eyes cutely.

"You're so sweet Kacchan. Thank you for your consideration, I can't wait to try your curry again. It's been a while."

"You had it two weeks ago, Auntie Inko."

"I know, I'm just playing with you." The two walked off but Katsuki remained in place. "Katsuki?"

"I… can I use the room for something?" He pointed to the shrine of Hisashi as Inko and Izuku realized that he wanted to pray as well and smiled.

"Sure, we'll wait for you." Izuku waved but Katsuki brushed him off.

"Nah, don't want your food to get cold. Eat before me, it'll be fine." He walked inside and closed the door without giving either Midoriya a chance to reply. With that, the two walked off as Katsuki sat on the mat in front of the shrine. The shrine was a traditional Tamaya, with flowers and Incense smoke sticks plunged into small pots in front of a portrait of Hisashi Midoriya. He did the traditional bowing in front of the shrine before opening his mouth to talk.

"Hey Uncle Hisashi… this is awkward… uhh… me and Izuku did it. We made it to U.A. High, our dream school. It's crazy and we're crazy happy about it, a lot of celebrating too. Mom and Dad are doing fine, Mom's doing fashion and all that and is going crazy on making me and Izuku's hero costumes. Dad's making music as always, interesting stuff even though I don't get a lot of it. Yubi and Inei are doing fine too, they got into their schools and we'll all try to keep in touch later on." He paused for a moment before talking again. "I'm going to be a pro, I'll protect lives and beat bad guys so hard they'll be knocked back to Timbuktu. I'm going to be a strong hero with Izuku and we'll be the best hero team you could imagine. Also, I'll look after Auntie Inko and Izuku for you, that I promise, so watch us Uncle Hisashi!"

He declared as he clenched his fists before putting his hands together to bow respectively one last time and then stood to leave. He gently opens and closes the door before heading back to the dinner table to eat with the two greenettes but didn't notice a spirit appearing inside the room. It was a male that was tall, had dark, green hair, freckles, and he put on a gentle smile.

"I'm always watching. Good luck, you two."

Now is the day that Izuku and Katsuki begin their first day at U.A. High. They're dressed in U.A. clothing consisting of button-up white shirt; gray jacket with blue-green stripes on the shoulders, inside of the jacket, and arm cuffs; a red tie; and dark blue-green pants. However, compared to Izuku who wore the whole attire, Katsuki didn't wear the tie, had a few buttons on his shirt left open, and his bags were sagging a little. They were standing outside of the Midoriya apartment as their parents were excitedly taking pictures despite the boys' insistence that they'll be late on the first day.

"Mom, Auntie Mitsuki, and Uncle Masaru, we're going to be late!"

"Come on you two, just one more!"

"That's what you said the last 20! Dammit, I do not want to be late on our first day!"

Another ten photos passed that the boys were finally let go by their parents to leave, but not with a few tears and snot escaping their faces every here and there. Mitsuki noggied Katsuki while Masaru sobbed while shouting out praises as their son made a cringy smile at the affection. Inko and Izuku's affectionate hug was less enthusiastic as they just stood there and then released each other. Inko's eyes had tears running down her face as she gently rubs her hand on Izuku's face.

"Look at you, my baby, all grown up. Hisashi would be so proud." She muttered as Izuku's own eyes began to well up with tears. Katsuki looked over and smiled as the two families finally let the new U.A. High students leave as they all waved to each other goodbye until they meet up at the restaurant again for celebration.

It took them twenty minutes on the train to make it through the city and another ten minutes to walk on foot to the high school as other students also made their way into the school. Izuku and Katsuki stopped in front of the large gate to U.A. High and then looked at each other with big smiles. They then simultaneously stepped into the school grounds as they made their way into the school and navigated their way to get to their class. It took some time for the two to find their class until they came in front of a large door that practically reached the ceiling: Class 1-A. They looked at each other once again before nodding as Izuku reached and pulled the door over to his right slightly.

They saw a bunch of students have taken over most of the seats as their new classmates stared at the new pair of arrivals. There was a blackboard in front of the classroom that had chalk on it. It was a drawing to show the rows and columns of seats with a student's name on it. Katsuki was Seat 17 and Izuku was Seat 18. Silence continued until they heard the loud, annoying voice of the student with blue hair and glasses pretty much strut towards them.

"Good morning! My name is Tenya Iida from Somei Academy and I can't wait to eagerly work with you as U.A. students!" He addressed loudly as he chopped the air with his arms. Was he a robot or something? Izuku and Katsuki looked at each other for the third time as they seemingly asked themselves that question before the former shook hands with Iida.

"Umm… hey, my name's Izuku Midoriya and this is my best friend Katsuki Bakugo." He motioned to the ash blonde as he begrudgingly shook hands with the spectacled boy.

"Midoriya… you knew that there was something more to the practical exam didn't you? You must be very perceptive and I completely misjudged you. I admit as a student you're far superior to me." He bashfully stated as Izuku and Katsuki looked at one another for the fourth time today as they shrugged their shoulders and had faces of confusion.

"What? I didn't know anything about the practical exam? And I'm not superior to you or anyone else!"

"Yeah, are you making up nonsense or something?" Izuku and Katsuki asked as Iida looked at them again.

"But… didn't you save that girl because you knew the zero-point robot being unleashed was a test of character?"

"What? NO, I just wanted to beat that thing and save the girl because it could've hurt her! I didn't know there was any 'test of character' or something." Izuku explained.

"Oh, I see. Nonetheless, you did an immensely heroic act while I cowardly ran away. Once again, you have the essence of a true hero, Midoriya!" Iida boldly shouted as Izuku looked around the classroom and outside the halls. This was so awkward and it was good luck that no one was outside. He gently pushed Iida inside as Katsuki tried to close the door until he saw the familiar brown hair and round face that he and Izuku met outside the entrance.

"Iida, can you keep your voice down? This is really embarrassing."

"Apologies, I'm sorry for your discomfort!"

"Yeah, I get it, but can you please drop the subject and-"

"Hey, I recognize those crazy hairstyles: dragon and porcupine boys!" A girl's voice rang out as the three males turned to see the girl that Izuku rescued during the robot test now entering the classroom. She had the same uniform on like the boys but was wearing a dark blue-green skirt and leggings instead.

"Dragon and Porcupine boys?" Katsuki questioned as she turned to him.

"Sorry, I don't know your names but your hair is so spiky that it looks like a porcupine and your friend there can turn into a dragon. By the way, thanks for saving me and that attack you used to take out the big robot was so awesome! That slash was amazing and in just one hit!" She eagerly made clawing motions up and down as shouts of excitement and amazement rose up in the class at the word 'dragon'.

"Woah, a dragon, seriously?"

"That's so manly!"

"Like the Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu? She's so hot."

"Quiet down, please you could disturb the other classrooms!" Tenya tried to control the situation as the girl blushed from the commotion she caused. Izuku tried to quiet down the class too while Katsuki just looked at the girl in amusement.

"He doesn't turn into a dragon, it's a-" Katsuki tried to correct her but was cut off by a blunt and tired voice from behind the girl.

"If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now." Everyone then looked behind her and saw a man with dark eyebags, shaggy black hair, a grey scarf, yellow goggles, and was inside a yellow sleeping bag. Was he a caterpillar man or what? Who is he, and if he's a pro then why is he so tired out?

"Welcome to U.A.'s hero course." The caterpillar man said unenthusiastically as he zipped some part of his bag to bring out a jelly pouch to lightly suck on. Izuku, Katsuki, Tenya, and the girl stare at the man in shock, confusion, and were just weirded out by the guy. He then stood up and got out of his sleeping bag.

"It took fifteen seconds for all of you to shut up, that's not gonna work. Time is precious, rational students would understand that. Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher." He bluntly stated as the students took time to process it until he took out a blue gym uniform with white and red stripes that had the 'U.A.' letters on it from his sleeping bag.

"Right, let's get to it, put these on and head outside." He leaves little room for debate as he ushers the students out of the classroom and to go to the changing rooms. Izuku and Katsuki quickly go to the far seats in the room that were near the walls. There were two seats left open behind a seemingly invisible girl as she was wearing the U.A. uniform. They quickly put their bags on the seats to let the room know that the seats are now theirs. Everyone leaves the class until Izuku stops and recognizes the student with the red and white split hair. He was sitting in the third row, fifth seat as he walked off and out of the classroom by the back door. Izuku stared until he realized that he's going to be the last one in the classroom and followed the others by the front door.

Aizawa led the students to the boys and girls' changing rooms as everyone got settled in and entered their respective rooms. Izuku and Katsuki head inside and see that there were fourteen pairs of the gym uniforms on the benches in front of the green lockers. They were all different sizes and had accommodations to each one to suit the person's Quirk. Everyone took a uniform and chose a locker to change as they all got to it. While doing so, Izuku could feel eyes looking at him and he slightly glanced behind him to see the red and white haired boy staring at him. The dual-colored male turns back to changing his attire as Izuku shrugs the thing off and does so too.

Once everyone was done and all were outside the changing rooms, they all headed outside to meet Aizawa in front of a gym building with a large field with white chalk outlining it. It looked like a regular physical training station as their homeroom teacher explained that they're going to have a Quirk Assessment Test, to their surprise.

"But orientation, we're going to miss it." The brunette tried to reason with their teacher but he scoffed it off.

"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at U.A., we're not tethered to traditions, that means that I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your Quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel, it's not rational. One day the ministry of education will learn. Midoriya, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam, what was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in junior high?"

"60 meters I think." Izuku answered as Aizawa tossed him a softball.

"Right, try doing it with your Quirk. However, don't go crazy." Izuku looked up as his teacher stared at him with his eyes flashing red now and his scarf was now floating above his head. "I saw how you used that attack and how you broke and fried your right arm with just one slash, what's up with you? Made a new move so you could wow the audience?"

Izuku and Katsuki bristled as the former tried to object but got distracted when he saw his appearance.

"What? No, I- wait. Those goggles, you're the hero who can look at people and erase their powers. The Erasure Hero: Eraserhead!" He announced as Katsuki's eyes widened but their classmates all turned to each other and were questioning who he was. Eraserhead is an underground hero who preferred to stay out of the spotlight, so it was understandable that a lot of people don't know him.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm Eraserhead for those who do or don't know me. Anyway, Midoriya I don't know what happened that caused your right arm to break, but if things go messy again like that attack I won't hesitate to take you out if things go wrong. A hero who gets incapacitated in one shot has no right on the battlefield, you're worthless if you need saving when there are others who desperately need it. Now go, take your throw and prove to me that you're a student worth being here." Eraserhead warned as Izuku flinched but regained a brave face and nodded. He then walked onto the white chalked circle in front of him and then summoned some of OFA's power as he closed his eyes, remembering what All Might told him.

Izuku and Katsuki met up with All Might to tell him the good news as they raced to the beach early in the morning. He waved to them from where he stood until the two tackled him in a hug. They laughed merrily until they all got up and gave the skinny man a hand.

"Be careful with an old man. I heard you both made it in, congratulations!" He laughed before proudly stating as he placed a hand on each of their shoulders.

"Thanks All Might." The two boys smiled brightly until Izuku remembered to tell him something.

"Oh All Might. During the entrance exam… I used One For All." Izuku said sheepishly as Katsuki turned to him in shock. Well that will explain how he destroyed the robot with just one Plasma Claw . The robot was big and didn't cost any points but it took a lot of power to take it out, Katsuki knows it as he did the same thing in his station. He had to use one of the biggest explosions just to blast its head off and left him sweating and his arms ached from everything.

"I know and I saw it. While I'd admonish you for going against my warning, you did it to save the girl who was about to be stepped on. So I'll let you off with a minor scolding. I heard from Recovery Girl that you broke your arm. She yelled at me for letting you use it at full power." All Might said as both males looked at him.

"Wait, Recovery Girl knows about OFA?" Katsuki asked.

"Yeah, all the school faculty and several heroes know about my condition, but not about OFA. Besides you two, Principal Nezu, a very old pro hero, and a good friend of mine, she's the other one of our group that knows about this secret. Also, try not to talk about it so freely or loudly." Izuku and Katsuki nod in case people around them were going to listen despite it being at night and no one around.

"But it's as I thought. Despite all the training you did for your Dumuren Quirk and the ten months you spent cleaning this beach, it's still not enough for you to completely master OFA at 100%. That's why I warned you not to use it during the entrance exam." All Might explained as Izuku looked at his right arm. So he wasn't ready to use it at its full power yet. All Might notices his disappointment and gently tells him, "Even if it's not at 100%, you may have some foreground in using some of its power. Try activating the power at 5% and slowly increase the power until you feel pain."

Izuku looked up and thought about it as he tried to summon OFA in his left arm before Katsuki asked him something.

"Wait Deku, have you tried spreading OFA's power through your whole body instead of just your arms or legs? It might give you a bigger boost and you'd waste less time summoning it." Izuku took this into consideration and turned off the power in his arm before deciding to take his best friend's advice. He slowly spread all of OFA throughout his body as red-violet veins began coursing throughout his body, green colored electricity also crossed his body in flickers. Katsuki and All Might stepped back in shock as Izuku willed the power at 5% for now.

He didn't feel any pain at 5% so he steadily increased the percentage by 5x until he was at 30% that he felt a sharp sense of pain that spasmed through his muscles. He gasped in pain and turned the power off as Katsuki quickly caught his best friend and held him up while he panted.

"30%... 30%'s where I begin to feel pain." He told them as All Might widened his eyes in surprise.

"Wow you're further along than I thought. Alright, since you can't use OFA fully and you start to feel pain at 30%, use it at 15-20% for now and Young Bakugo's method since it works best for you. From there, we'll work our way until you can use OFA safely without breaking your bones or burning yourself." All Might tells him as Izuku lets Katsuki know that he can stand and walk again. The greenette nodded as he and his best friend prepare for the next phase of their lives as the three stared at the rising sun with the light shining brightly on their faces.

Izuku opened his eyes and gained his resolve as he transformed into a Dumuren. He stood on the ground on all fours and began to grow to his current height of two stories. Everyone looked amazed as Katsuki smirked amusingly while his best friend summoned 20% of OFA: Full Cowling. The red-violet veins and green electricity appeared again as they covered his entire body as he stood on his hind legs, pulled back his arm, and threw the ball as far as he could. Wind pressure exploded throughout the area as everyone covered their heads from the air flying at them. Aizawa looks at his meter scan to see a score of 1,175.36 meters as Izuku shrinks himself down and turns back into human form. He looked at his teacher with a determined smile and Aizawa smiled. Limiting his power safely so he won't injure himself and increasing his size to get a better throw to compensate was good enough for Aizawa as he turned to the students.

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities, it's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero." He explained as he showed his students his scoring device. As expected everyone exploded in amazement.

"Whoa, over a thousand meters are you kidding me?" A blonde boy with a black lightning bolt on his hair exclaimed.

"I wanna go! That looks like fun!" A pink-skinned girl excitedly said.

"This is what I'm talkin' about, usin' our quirks as much as we want!" A black-haired boy with elbows that looked like they have tires in them shouted as Aizawa's eyes narrowed and smirked rather evilily.

"So this looks fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero, you think it's gonna be games and playtime? Idiots, today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately." Everyone became shocked and exclaimed loudly. "Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand, if that's a problem you can head home right now."

"You can't just send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair." The brunette said as Izuku walked back to her and Katsuki.

"Oh and you think natural disasters are? Or power-hungry villains, hmm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try and combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, U.A. will through one terrible hardship after another at you, so go beyond. Plus Ultra style, show me that it's no mistake that you're here." He explained as the students took everything he said into consideration. He's right, the world's always unfair and they have to fight against it as the students' faces turn from anger to determination.

'I don't approve of this kind of hazing, but U.A.'s the top hero program. I have no choice.' Tenya thinks to himself as he drinks a can of orange juice while Izuku takes a deep breath, Katsuki stretches his arms out and cracks his knuckles, and Ochaco clenches her fists.

Aizawa then moves everyone to Test 1: a small track lane that's only 50 meters. He sets the students up in pairs with the first pair being Tenya and a girl with a frog-like expression and long dark green hair that seems to be tied in a bow. A robot is at one end with a sound device to start off the students with a gunshot noise, and another with a speed measuring device.

The robot fires off the gunshot noise as the two students run with Tenya bolting down the field like lightning as the measuring device announces his speed: 3.04 seconds. The girl hopped her way across and was much slower but had an impressive speed of 5.07 seconds. Next team was the brunette and another blonde male with a large, bulky tail; the girl touches her clothes and shoes with her finger pads as the touches glow a bright pink. Izuku and Katsuki notice as the gunshot is heard.

The boy uses his tail to propel himself through the air as he gets a score of 5.49 seconds while the girl gets 7.15 seconds. She looked happy about the score as Izuku could hear her state that it was better than her junior high score. Third team is the blonde boy with the navel laser and the pink-skinned girl as they get ready.

"Nice attempts, mon amis, but you're not showing enough panache. Let your powers shine!" The blonde with a French accent shouts as he turns around and puts his hands behind his head. The sound of the gunshot has the laser fired straight out of the boy's belt wrapped around his stomach. It gave the boy a large head-start while the girl was throwing globs of goo that seemed to allow her to skate across the field. However, about halfway through the field, the boy's face scrunched up in sickness and pain as the laser thinned out and he fell to the floor. The girl caught up and surpassed him as he got up and shot a second laser but he was a few seconds too late as his score was 5.51 seconds.

"Shooting my beautiful beam for more than a second hurts my tummy." He states as he 'sparkled' to try and cover his slip up. But no one was buying it as even Izuku had a deadpan face and could clearly see past his embarrassment. Also, is he really French or is that a fake accent?
