" Considering that the treaty was broken first by your girls ad the troubles the brought with them, I'd tell you to lower your heads this time..., you should be well aware of the rules," kael smiled sheepishly as he saw Julius frown. Normally, such a letter of invitation wouldn't be sent if it were just his children trespassing. The issue was that he appeared in his werewolf form on their grounds which would mean he was itching for a fight.
" So when will the meeting be held " Julius sighed resigned to what's to come.
" No need to rush , settle your affairs and I'll appear once again. We are being considerate this time as the intentions behind your actions are well understood don't expect such manner from us next time" kael said as he stood prepared to leave. He walked over to the hanger were his coat was hung then turned again to Julius " give my thanks to the two ladies, their help is well recognized " he said as he walked out of the shop and then like a ghost, he vanished.
Julius remained on his seat pondering as he stared deep at the black envelope as his gaze was still lingering on the spot where Kael had vanished into thin air. With a subtle movement, Julius quickly hid the wooden stake, his mind racing with the implications of the encounter.
"Claire! Rein!" he called out, his voice low and urgent. The sisters emerged from the back room, their faces etched with concern. "We need to talk," Julius said, his eyes scanning the surroundings, ensuring they were out of earshot.
The three of them huddled together, their voices hushed as they discussed their next course of action. "We can't stay here," Julius said, his voice firm. "Those soldiers will be back, and we need to be prepared."
Claire nodded, her eyes wide with worry. "What about the training?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"We'll continue in secret," Julius replied, his mind already racing with plans. "We'll find a way to keep you both safe, but we need to be careful. Those soldiers are not to be underestimated with their new upgrades, they are too much for you to handle now."
Rein frowned, her brow furrowed in concern. "What about that guest, he's gone so soon?" she asked, her voice laced with unease. "What's his game?"
Julius's expression turned thoughtful. "I'm not sure, but I will be handling this matter. For now you both need to be careful not to get caught in the crossfire."
As they spoke, the atmosphere in the room grew more intense, the air thickening with anticipation. They knew they had to act quickly, to stay one step ahead of their enemies.
"We'll leave tonight," Julius said, his voice firm. "We'll find a safe place to hide, and then we'll plan our next move."
The sisters nodded, their faces set with determination. They knew the road ahead would be fraught with danger, but this was nothing new as it had become some they saw to face head-on.
Ryan on the other hand sat by the alley behind the restaurant, his limping leg stretched out before him as he scraped the leftover food into a small container. The waiter, a kind-eyed young man with a bland smile, had brought him the food with a quiet nod, his movements swift and efficient.
As Ryan ate, the sounds of the city swirled around him - the distant hum of cars, the chatter of pedestrians, the wail of sirens in the distance. But in this small alleyway, all was quiet, the only sound the soft clinking of utensils against the container.
Ryan's eyes closed in appreciation as the flavors danced on his tongue. The food was simple, but it was hot, and it was nourishment. He savored each bite, his hunger slowly abating.
As he finished his meal, Ryan's gaze drifted to the sky above, the stars twinkling like diamonds in the darkness. He felt a sense of peace wash over him, a sense of contentment that he hadn't felt in a long time.
The waiter's voice broke the spell, his tone soft and gentle. "You know, friend, I've been thinking. Maybe I can help you out. I know the owner of a small apartment complex nearby. It's not much, but it's a place to stay."
Ryan's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. Could this be the break he needed? He looked up at the waiter, his expression cautious. "What do you mean?"
The waiter smiled, his eyes shining with kindness. "I mean, I can put in a good word for you. Maybe we can work something out. You're a good guy, and you deserve a chance."
Ryan's heart swelled with gratitude, and for a moment, he forgot about his troubles. Maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something good. Maybe this was the chance he had been waiting for.
As Ryan finished his meal and stood up to leave, the waiter handed him a small piece of paper with an address on it. "Meet me here tomorrow," he said, his voice low and urgent. "I'll introduce you to the owner."
Ryan nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. He tucked the paper into his pocket and smiled, feeling a sense of hope that he hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe tomorrow would be a better day he hoped.
He was already tired of running so maybe he might use this period as a method of training, he could learn to infiltrate and also gather Intel in that way it wasn't such a bad thing although it did bother him why anyone would be so nice to him a stranger.
" Still...I'm beginning to miss the dorms, good food and a place to bath was always available" he vented his heart so vexed.
