Chapter 53 - Chapter 53

"Creek" the sound of the door opening eased the tension. Entering were Sonia, yunli, Oscar, Vincent and skara.

Their presence alerted the soldiers to which Scott response to this was nonchalant. He addressed mater on ground and asked the soldiers to profile whomever they found suspicious or wanted and amongst those who were present, skara was named missing by the government but they couldn't say that since they intended to catch him and send him into confinement for being one in possession of supernatural ability.

Yunli and Sonia were found to be clean with no records of violations or even registration in their data base.

" That's because the last time I updated my citizenship status was about six years back" she said as if reading their thoughts. To confirm the credibility of her words, the requested more information to which it was true while Sonia information was just normal.

Vincent with his huge build gave the soldiers a little pressure but that was all as he was a registered student of one of their government organizations.

This process took the whole night and when day break came, they we done with their profiling. At the moment, Julius was already back in his human form. His eyes dulled but his presence was strong, the first the he did after regaining his human body was take a shower then dressed in a comfortable clothing of a baggy polo shirt and shorts.

His hair were gel and waxed along with his shaved beards. He then walked into the room where they were all presently gathered and the first thing he did was walked towards Jeffery grabbing him by the collar of his dressing.

" You dared to open fire at my daughters huh " his voice cold as it contrasted with his dull eyes. The surrounding comrades of Jeffery all stood up ready to cock their guns.

" An assault to a soldier in uniform is punishable by the law" one of the soldiers warned his voice a little shaky.

" Laws my foot " he spat on the ground his grip tighter on the collar "That's only when you are on your own lands not mine. Your superiors don't own this part of the world nor are they beings who own us, so if you know what's best for you, I suggest you back off "

As Julius had said they had no authority over the land they were on presently. The best they could do was to come to favour terms that would benefit each other. Jeffrey in fear for his life caused his hands to stop his comrades from saying or doing anything stupid, " these fools, do you want me to die early" he cried inwardly.

Scott just sat at the corner along with his boys enjoying the show, even the trainees were tensed as it is. They were ready to make a move the moment the see the soldiers try anything funny.

Julius released his grip on Jeffery's collar, the soldier's eyes widening in relief as he adjusted his uniform. Julius's gaze lingered on Jeffery for a moment before he turned and walked over to Scott's side.

"Now that we've...cleared the air," Scott said, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes, "tell me, have you confirmed what you were suspicious of about the people in our city?"

Jeffery's eyes, his gaze flicking to Julius before returning to Scott. "We've...profiled a few individuals who seem suspicious, but none of them match our suspects," he replied cautiously.

Scott nodded thoughtfully, his expression unreadable. "I see. Well, perhaps you should stay in the city for a few months, get to know the people, and see if you can confirm your suspicions."

Jeffery's eyes widened in surprise. "You want us to stay here?"

Scott nodded. "Yes, I think that would be beneficial for both parties. You'll get to know the city and its inhabitants better, that way we won't need to deal with their unnecessary tantrums."

Julius chuckled, a low rumble that seemed to vibrate through the air. "Besides, it's not like you're going anywhere anytime soon. You're welcome to stay in our...guest quarters."

The soldiers exchanged uneasy glances, their faces pale. They knew they were in no position to refuse, not with the werewolves' power and influence in the city.

"We...accept your offer," Jeffery said finally, his voice tight with tension. He thought to himself that maybe they just wanted to watch them up close since even if they were allowed to leave, they would still camp in a different location to survey the city from the outside.

Scott smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Excellent. I'll have our people show you to your quarters. I'm sure you'll find it...comfortable."

As Scott spoke, he gestured to one of his men, who stepped forward to lead the soldiers away. The atmosphere in the room remained tense, but Scott's suggestion seemed to have make vague of the situation, for the moment.

Julius watched the soldiers leave, his eyes narrowing slightly as he turned to Scott. "You think they'll cause trouble?"

Scott shrugged. "Hard to say. But we'll be keeping an eye on them. Let's just hope they don't try anything...funny."

The two men exchanged a look, their understanding clear. They would be watching the soldiers closely.

Scott's gaze shifted to the trainees, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "I think it's time for introductions, don't you?" he said, his voice friendly.

The trainees nodded, and Vincent spoke up first. "I'm Vincent, and this is yunli, sonia, and skara."

But before they could continue, Julius's expression changed, his eyes narrowing slightly as he turned towards the door. "Wait," he said, his voice low and urgent.

The room fell silent, and Scott's eyes followed Julius's gaze to the door. "What is it?" he asked, his voice low.

Julius's eyes locked onto something, or someone, beyond the door. "There's someone there," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But they're...gone now."

The trainees exchanged uneasy glances, their eyes scanning the room nervously. Scott's expression remained calm, but his eyes said otherwise.

"They have come huh," he said, his voice thoughtful. "It seems we have an unexpected visitor."

Julius's eyes remained fixed on the door, his senses on high alert. He could have sworn he sensed a presence, a familiar presence, but it had vanished suddenly, then he thought back to the previous night.

The room remained silent, the tension palpable. Scott's gaze lingered on Julius, his expression unreadable.

"I'll keep an eye on those here," Scott said finally, his voice low. "We don't know who or what they would do."

Julius nodded, as he left the house. He didn't forget to grab a sharpened wood underneath the seat where Scott sat.
