" Halt "
Jeffery instructed his eyes filled with horror. Before coming down to the town for mission, he received a file along with a strict warning to beware of information in the file
The file contained a list of identity of some set of people and the were all estimated to be a very dangerous individuals if an enemy was made out of them and amongst the people he was warned about, the five werewolves who had now transformed into a were human now stood in front of him.
Just before he could continue with his thoughts, a giant rumble could be heard, the ground began to vibrate as if a group of horse were galloping aggressively.
" Shet, he's lost it this time around" one of the were humans said fidgeting.
The others reactions were same except for the one leading the five were humans. He had the two girls clinging tightly to his leg while they muttered "uncle".
" Don't worry , I'll handle this he gently rub the girls head while he stared at the incoming giant beast which was just a few meters away from them. The beast drew nearer and sure enough it was a giant wolf two times taller than the height of the surrounding humans at closer examination.
The wolf had its claws digging deep into the ground without hesitation in it's movements and as it arrived at the place where they were all gathered , it growled aggressive it's claw raised upwards ready to descend and rip apart everyone in its way.
Luckily, the man in lead of the were humans spoke " oi, you are about to rip apart the little girls, they're all safe". The surrounding soldiers had already prepared to open fire at the sight of this giant wolf but there fingers just wouldn't pull the trigger having been overwhelmed with fear.
The wolf took a pause it it's action to glance around in search of something, his eyes locked on to the were humans first then to the girls before he calmed down and ut shape began to reduce, gradually until it was half it's original size.
This Giant wolf was Julius and the ma who spoke to calm him was his step brother Scott who was three years younger than him.
Scott looked at the soldiers with a cold gaze, " even if you had open fire, you'd do no damage. You're all fools who delights in their little power you've all just obtained" he scolded.
With a final glance at the soldiers, Scott turned to Julius and nodded. "Let's get moving, brother. We've got to leave here before the night reapers arrive."
Julius, still in his werewolf form, gently lifted his daughters onto his back, securing them safely. Scott led the way, his cold gaze sweeping across the soldiers, who parted to let them pass.
As they walked, the soldiers watched in awe, their fear still palpable. Scott's words lingered in the air, a stark reminder of their limitations. The group moved forward, Julius's massive strides eating up the distance, his daughters giggling and playing with his ears.
The city's skyline loomed ahead, its towering buildings a testament to human ingenuity. Scott navigated the streets with ease, his eyes scanning the crowds. Julius followed closely, his werewolf senses on high alert, protecting his daughters and Scott.
The unusual procession drew attention, with pedestrians stopping to stare at the giant werewolf carrying two giggling girls on his back. They were all not scared just surprised since everyone in the city was aware that only the city lord had the audacity to publicly walk around the streets in his wolf form.
Still all looked mainly at the armed men, their gaze filled with displeasure and disgust.
Scott's expression remained stoic, but a hint of amusement danced in his eyes. He knew the city's residents very much loathe the outside army due to their past relationships but for them to be able to hold it in instead of murmuring was not in his expectations.
"Let's hope you all would leave unscathed" he laughed at the soldiers as they walked, the city's sounds and smells enveloped them, a cacophony of human activity.
Their destination remained unclear, but Scott's confidence and Julius's protective instincts made them an unlikely yet formidable team. The city's residents would soon realize that these two were not to be underestimated.
As they turned a corner, a bustling market came into view, filled with colorful stalls and vendors. Scott's gaze locked onto a specific stall, and a small smile played on his lips. "Let's get some food as soon as we arrive home. The girls must be hungry."
Julius's ears perked up, and he nodded. At the corner, Ryan who saw all this shivered as he could recognize one of the soldiers and that was Jeffery. He hid further amongst the crowd without drawing attention with his limping leg.
Crook on the other hand had called all of his trainee back to the house except for the siblings suggesting it that it would be best if they were not in anyway near as it would save them any explanation to those soldiers.
Claire and Rein decided to meet up over their communicator at a make up saloon since they were close by while Ryan decided to just roam the corners of the street.
On getting to the farm land, the girls got off Julius back and took fast strides to their room. Julius on the other hand lay in the barn of the farm house waiting till he could transform into his human form by day break.
In the general room in one of the buildings on the farm Land, Scott along with the remaining were humans sat opposite the armed soldiers with a long table separating them from each other.
Scott's gaze pierced through the dimly lit room, his eyes fixed intently on Jeffery. "So, what brings you and your men to our city?" he asked, his voice low and even.
Jeffery shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his eyes darting briefly to his men before returning to Scott. "We came to apprehend fugitives," he replied, his voice firm.
Scott's eyebrow arched slightly. "Fugitives? I wasn't aware that our city was a haven for criminals."
Jeffery's expression turned serious. "These fugitives are...different ,they are dangerous. They escaped about eight months ago, and we have reason to believe they're hiding here."
Scott's gaze narrowed. "I see. And what makes you think they're here?"
Jeffery hesitated, his eyes flicking to his men again before answering. "We have...information that suggests they're hiding in this city. We're just trying to do our job."
Scott's expression remained unreadable, but his voice took on a slightly cold tone. "I think you're forgetting the pact between our city and your government. A pact of non-interference, if I recall correctly."
Jeffery's face tightened. "We're not here to interfere with your city's affairs, Sir. We're just trying to bring these fugitives to justice."
Scott laughed loudly before slamming his fist into the table causing cracks to appear on it, " justice you say, but you went around and attacked my nieces, you trespassed with unauthorized drone action. Even lady Maru wouldn't dare act reckless. Tell me which fool is in charge of giving the orders huh, was it Bingley?, Benedict or was it Zian ? " He questioned authoritatively.
Jeffery hearing him casually call the names of the higher ups he answers to made him realize how much trouble they had caused. His chest tightened unable to utter a single word
