Chapter 73: Do You Call This a Teaching Building?

The teachers were still pondering how to arrange breakfast when they realized that Shanhe University had everything covered. The cafeteria offered various meals to cater to the tastes of people from the north and south, and it was conveniently located near the faculty dormitories.

As they enjoyed their delicious breakfast, their curiosity about lunch grew. Qi Limin, who specialized in nuclear energy and new energy, voiced this curiosity, sparking the interest of the group.

Liu Datou, who entered the cafeteria at that moment, saw the lingering crowd and urged them, "What are you still doing here? The principal has something planned for today; let me take you to visit the teaching building."

The teachers remembered their purpose for coming to Shanhe University: to become familiar with the teaching environment and study the teaching materials in advance.

Liu Datou, based on Qin Mu's introduction, had an idea of who these professors were. Each of them was a distinguished expert in their field. They had led numerous national research projects and were highly accomplished.

Leaving the cafeteria, they walked along the tree-lined path that connected the buildings. Ten minutes later, they reached a five-story teaching building. Liu Datou pointed to it and introduced, "This is Teaching Building No. 1 of Qinglong Campus. It was constructed according to the principal's specifications and contains 80 classrooms, capable of accommodating 5,000 students simultaneously."

The teachers raised their heads to examine the building. The exterior appeared quite ordinary.

"It seems quite regular from the outside, not much different from any other building."

"It doesn't stand out; I've looked at it for a while, but I can't see any unique features."

"Could it be like the cafeteria—seemingly ordinary on the outside but hiding something extraordinary inside?"

"Perhaps we've set our expectations too high for Shanhe University?"

Everyone smiled wryly and shook their heads. After entering the university through the gate, seeing the airport, and experiencing the cafeteria, they raised their expectations significantly.

The teaching building before them appeared to be just like any other university's.

Liu Datou urged, "Let's go inside. The first three floors have regular classrooms, each accommodating 50 students."

The teachers followed him through the building, finding the teaching environment no different from other universities.

Yu Guang from the aerospace department inquired about the fifth floor, which hadn't been mentioned yet.

Liu Datou explained, "The fifth floor has only three classrooms."

However, when they looked around, they noticed there was no button for the fifth floor in the elevator. It seemed as if the fifth floor was inaccessible.

Qi Limin, who specialized in nuclear energy and new energy, pointed this out, and they realized they had not encountered the fifth floor during their tour.

"The procedures to access the fifth floor are a bit more complicated. I'll check with the principal," Liu Datou said.

After making a call, Liu Datou relayed the information to the group. "The principal has given permission."

He then led them to a metal gate at the end of the corridor. The gate featured a face recognition system to grant access.

The material science teacher among them marveled at the gate. "Is this door made of tungsten steel?"

Another material science teacher examined the door closely and said, "It's more than just tungsten steel; this metal door contains other materials as well."

They were intrigued by the door's appearance and texture. It seemed to be extremely robust, and they marveled at its design.

However, they were puzzled as to why teachers from the materials science department were so fascinated.

A material science teacher explained, "To put it in perspective, the Mohs hardness of diamonds, a naturally occurring substance, is only 10."

This revelation left everyone speechless. The material was not just tough; it had other extraordinary properties. The material science teachers were truly impressed by the door.

The teaching building, in their minds, had become quite extraordinary. Such a level of security and protection was typically found in military facilities or top laboratories, not in a standard university teaching building.

After the door was recognized the highest administrative authority and opened, they followed Liu Datou through the door into a passage with silver walls and a futuristic design.

The passage was different from the previous floors, with walls and floors made of alloy, decorated with intricate patterns.

They were mesmerized by the advanced technology surrounding them but also bewildered by the need for such a secure entrance.

As they walked further, a crisp electronic voice announced, "You have entered the core area of the teaching building. Ahead: holographic virtual reality shared classroom."
