Chapter 58: Remote Mountain Village - The Admission Notice

If it's possible... he even considered applying to this university to relive a different university experience.

Seven days later, the construction proceeded as scheduled. The first phase of Shanhe University was completed, including the main structures of the teaching building, office building, and dormitory building.

"Ding! The one-month deadline has arrived, and the preliminary structure of Shanhe University is complete, with a 95% task completion rate!"

"Ding! Congratulations to the host, you have earned 6500 challenge points."

In Qin Mu's mind, the sound of the system's update resonated. His challenge value had surged, from a mere few hundred to nearly seven thousand points.

"It's time to commence the second phase of the project," Qin Mu whispered to himself.

At the same time, Qin Mu summoned Liu Datou and handed him a new construction blueprint. The blueprint included plans for the library, cafeteria, bathhouse, and a unique addition, the "[Scientific Research Laboratory]."

"Hollowing out a mountain to build a large laboratory inside?" Liu Datou took a deep breath after studying the drawings. His expression was one of disbelief.

"Yes," Qin Mu nodded, speaking with solemnity. "I've assessed the geological conditions of the mountains, and Mountain No. 23 appears to be the most suitable location for the laboratory."

Having already exchanged various research equipment and instruments worth 2,000 challenge points at the system mall's "[Scientific Research Laboratory]," space constraints had to be addressed.

For security and secrecy, the laboratory would be located within the mountain, accessible only to Shanhe University's core staff.

"There's no rush to hollow out the mountain; let's prioritize the construction of other buildings," Qin Mu advised with a smile. Hollowing out the mountain was a massive undertaking, taking at least two months.

Since there were only two months left until the school year began, it was wiser to complete the construction of other buildings first.

Liu Datou, after hearing this, appeared more at ease.

"Oh, and take a moment to call two workers to come to my location to help me with some courier deliveries," Qin Mu added after a pause.

Liu Datou was momentarily perplexed but agreed to the request. Twenty minutes later, two workers approached Qin Mu with grins on their faces, saying that Liu Gong had called them to help with courier deliveries.

Qin Mu's face lit up as he led them to a room on the construction site. Pointing to the pile of documents and materials, he explained, "These are the couriers — a total of 8,000 copies. I need them delivered to 8,000 different locations."

The two workers exchanged glances, finding the task quite different from what they had anticipated.

After a few days, in a remote mountain village in Qianjiang County, an exclamation cut through the village's tranquility.

Miao Xiaoxiao, clutching a brand new courier labeled "Shanhe University Admission Notice," hurriedly made her way home.

In a village known for its poverty, with a per capita monthly income of less than 600, Miao Xiaoxiao's family was the poorest. Their household lacked even basic electrical appliances.

However, Miao Xiaoxiao had made history by becoming the first person in decades from their village to be admitted to a university.

News of Miao Xiaoxiao's achievement reached the ears of villagers, who came out to observe her home. They looked towards Miao Youmin's house, which was renowned for its hardship and financial struggles.

In the midst of their curiosity, Miao Xiaoxiao proudly held her precious admission notice.

As she trembled with excitement, Miao Youmin, a man who lacked formal education, inquired about the university mentioned in her admission notice, mentioning that he had heard of Yenching University, Qingbei University, and Shanhe University, but wasn't sure if they were prestigious.

"Of course!" Miao Xiaoxiao stated proudly, declaring Shanhe University to be the best university in the world. She then added, "Maybe not yet, but it will definitely become one in the future."

Miao Youmin and his family exchanged puzzled glances. Although they couldn't fully grasp Miao Xiaoxiao's words, they were sincerely happy for her.

Miao Youmin, unable to contain his excitement, urged, "Let's open the admission letter. Your father and I have spent our lives in this village, and we've never seen a college admission letter before."
