Saotome Ai swiftly climbed out of the first-floor window, entering a narrow alley beside a standalone house.
The place was damp, cramped, and dark.
Without stopping for a moment, Saotome tried to escape from there.
She was quite familiar with the complex alleys in this area, and with some luck, she might be able to shake off the people from the Countermeasures Office.
The tall buildings on either side of the alley were gray, and the surrounding black wires were tangled chaotically above her head and along the walls, making the already narrow space feel even more crowded.
Because it had rained during the day, there were shallow puddles on the alley's ground. The light falling from the windows of surrounding residences seemed dim, only highlighting patches of dark and light on the puddles.
