Chapter 29 - Reinforcement

The second year elite group had just been called back from their mission for an unknown reason. Coming through a spaceship they had landed far from the military base where a little space station had been made.

Coming out from the ship, they were greeted by a green haired figure with a smile on his face. These were the special ones of the second year student. Students with talent and had been hardened by various battles.

After the elite unit had been formed, an idea had been made to deploy them as mercenary, helping those races with close relationship with earth.

Their dark combat suit made from the rare resource in the planet glowed under little light. A uniform made mixing high beast crystals to protect them. After all, they were the military pride collection.

"Darwin, Rakiel. Sorry to bother you, but I need you to take care of a little problem." Henry said, standing beside the green haired guy.

Both looked at the green haired figure waiting for his approval. After receiving a nod, they looked back at Henry waiting for the information.

"There's a fierce battle going on at the gate. I need you guys to help the disperse the situation."

"Sure," Darwin answered. "Won't one of us be enough to handle the situation," he asked with a slight smile.

"No, I need you guys to solve the situation quickly."

"Alright, we'll do our best, right Rakiel? What a nice way to stretch these bored limbs." Stretching his body, he leapt up to the sky as a large shackle emerged from the ground. Landing on it, the shackle them moved at an incredible speed across the expanse.

Things had quietened down as the beast was no match for the two students.

"A beast horde, huh. Surely, they would be a high tier beast leading the battle. I'll locate the beast while you take care of the rest." Rakiel said without waiting for a reply.

Several shackles appeared before the beasts crushed them. Appearing from the top was Darwin, his eyes on Will.

"Hmmm, a strange one," he thought with a glint in his eyes. He then frowned, tweaking his nose as if perceiving a bad odour. "What's that smell?" He looked round, and his eyes fell on Issaiah. They locked eyes for a moment before both giving ground.

Landing before Will, he circled around him with a slight smile.

"There's something peculiar about you I can't decipher."

Will guard was up as he circles him. For no reason, he felt exposed around him, and he couldn't help but notice a strange rage building up within.

Will jumped backwards, distancing himself away as he felt he couldn't hold himself back being so close.

'What's wrong with my body,' he thought. His mind was already working, and without wasting much time, he decided to activate the [ Analyse ] skill.

[ Race: ??? ]

[ Name: Darwin ]

[ Realm: ??? ]

Will was quite surprised. This was the first time seeing race appear when using the analyse skill. This further spiked his suspicions as he decided to stay far away from whoever he was.

"We'll meet again, Will." He said with that same sly smile on his face. He then looked at Issaiah, and a trace of his aura leaked out and was directed at him.

Although it had been directed at Issaiah, Will and his friends couldn't help but feel pressured by the intense aura. Issaiah unleashed his own, a deep frown slowly turning into a scowl.

'What the fuck are they doing here?' Judging by his reaction he knew what they were. 'I need to be careful around them.'

With a wave of his hands he jumped onto one of the shackles heading towards the rank of beast. Wherever he passed, destruction was left in its place.

Pheew, Will dropped to the ground with a sigh. He had thought he would make a breakthrough but so far nothing had happened.

'Just some days left and I'm stuck, what do I do,' he thought clenching his fists.

The battle was soon over as all of a sudden the beast started retreating. Some expressed a cry of joy as they had survived the ordeals. While others sat down exhausted from the battle.

"Bunny! Bunny! C'mon buddy! The battle is over! Wake up! Wake up!" A student screamed as tears streamed down his cheeks. Others held him back while those with healing abilty checked the body.

"He's gone," one muttered with sigh. "Why are they doing this? I thought they are supposed to protect us!"

'Doesn't our life matter to them,' they all thought as they walked pass the gate.

Out of the thousand of student there had been thirty six confirmed dead and one hundred and seven seven critically injured.

'This was a tough battle,' Will thought. He had sustained some injuries during the battle but wasn't quite serious.

"Thanks for the help," he said looking at Issaiah.

"It was nothing. We're friends right? That's what friends do." He concluded as they walked back to the dorm.

"Belle won't you see the nurse and check that cut," Will asked looking at her with a worried expression.

"It's nothing, it's just a slight scratch that would heal." She said with a forced smile and then walked towards her room.

Dren who had been quiet all through walked towards his room also leaving Will and Issaiah.

"You're yet to breakthrough to the next level," he asked as they walked across the hall. Everywhere seemed to be quiet has everyone was still recovering from the battle.

"Yeah, I'm having problem making a breakthrough. Any pointers would be needed."

"Hmmm. Your case is quite different. I believe you have reached a bottle neck and need a serious battle to breakthrough."

Will had several thoughts in his head but decided to rest for the day. After all, it had been one hell of a day. They walked the remaining distance in silence, each bothered by their own problems.

'I don't know what you guys are doing here, but I won't let you harm him.' Issaiah said, his eyes turning dark glow for a moment.

"Achuuu!" Darwin sneezed in his bed. 'It seems someone is talking about me,' he thought.

"Hey, Rakiel, I met quite an interesting group today," he said with excitement.

"What do you mean by that? Are they special?" Rakiel asked, sipping a cold drink, which he then placed on the table beside his bed.

"Yeah. All are giving out different aura. Then, one with silver hair with streaks of blue hair feels somewhat peculiar. I felt strange when I got close to him."

"It's nothing to worry about," Rakiel said without a yawn. "Maybe a human blessed by father." He said without much thought.

'Hmmm, a blessed one,' he thought before snapping his hands, turning the lights off.

The days progressed smoothly, with the students finally getting through the event. In a training room, an intense fight seemed to be going on.

"You need to do better than this to defeat me," Issaiah said, blocking a strike from Will. After that little talk, the next day, Issaiah had decided to become his training partner throughout the remaining days.

Right from then, he had started the rigorous training with Issaiah and was quite shocked.

'This guy is a demon.' He thought as he struggled to control his breathing. Ever since he had been training, he had been unable to land a full strike on him without using any of his system skills. Each day, he walked back home with broken bones, which he later healed at a private time in order to avoid questioning gaze.

'I need to think out of the box. I can't keep depending on the system. What if a situation occurs, I can't use any system skill. I need to think harder.'

As the days went on, he had started learning activating some basic skills without using the system. With this, he felt he would be able to use the skills in case of any issue with the system.

After another one-sided battle, they sat down as he listened to some pointers. "Your sword formation is quite powerful, but you aren't making full use of it. There's more to it than that. Also, I noticed you don't make use of your wind ability that much. Having two different abilities gives you an advantage in battle."

"Particularly harmonising both abilities in battle, and also knowing when to utilize both. C'mon, let's head back."

"I'll meet up with you later, I want to practice my sword formations." Will said to him. It wasn't long before Issaiah walked out of the room.

Time to check my stats, he thought as he opened the system.

His exp points had gone up after the battle. Also his attributes had increased a little. Through the constant training he realized he could gain stat points by dedicated and rigorous training.

"I'm so tired," he said with a yawn before heading out of the room. He walked out of the training building and had headed back to the dorm room.

"I hope I'm able to advance, I don't want to head home so soon, although I'm quite worried about mum and Thelia."
