Never would Null have expected Void could become one with space itself and catapult him to another plane so effortlessly.
The feeling made his insides churn, and his brain feel like it was being scrambled, but it soon subsided after the transportation was ended.
When his vision settled, he found there to be nothing but white; it was strange not knowing how spacious the place was solely based on sight.
Also, he seemed to be on a flat surface, but there was nothing that he could see— no shadows either.
'Weird.'
While he was mulling over the circumstance, he suddenly felt a pang stemming from his eye as a blood red streak ran down his cheek.
Ego began seeping from Null's forehead and reformed in front of him while clutching their head.
"Not here!"
Ego's body began flashing between clear and crimson.
Before Null could figure out what was wrong with them, figures came towards them from the distance.
"Get it together! We've got company!"
In between the flashes, Ego responded, "I want to leave."
"What do you mean? Is this-," Null stopped speaking midway because he noticed the changes resembled someone he remembered vividly.
It was at this time that the figures in the distance were closing in on them.
Null could make out humanoid figures, but they were peculiarly radiating vibrant colors like a certain rageful being.
"Who are you and how did you get here?!"
"What a sight! A little boy and a friend."
"What does this mean? Are they here to end us once and for all?"
The radiant figures spoke in different tones that pertained different elements around the situation and Null could not help but feel overwhelmed.
'Rage spoke of a prison that held him and others. Is this them?'
"Indeed," a solemn voice spoke.
'Oh not this again!'
Null could not get used to the intrusive nature of these godlike beings.
"So it would seem," Ego's voice resounded in a deeper tone.
Their body was now fully crimson, yet they seemed to still have a semblance of their selves still conscious.
"I can't believe it!"
"It's him! He's back!"
"Oh no! We really are trapped then!"
A crowd had amassed around Null and Ego at this point and they were speaking out upon seeing a new and old face.
"I can't believe it. Void you sick son of a bitch, you directly transported us into someplace full of gods!"
He felt the vortex within him was running on fumes— a direct result of the transport into the realm of the personified emotions.
Needless to say, Void was out of commission for the time being and Ego was experiencing a slight personality change.
"Wait a minute. I thought this was supposed to be where It resides. Where are they?"
Null's question fell on deaf ears as the emotional beings were still focused on the crimson figure Ego became.
"Hehe. I wouldn't worry about It for now. Void actually managed something greater than that!"
They looked around at their former companions and rejoiced.
"My brothers and sisters! I have been reformed by the null one and seen outside of this wretched prison. Alas! I've been changed and become part of a new system. It holds no power of me now!"
The rest of the emotional beings were taken aback by their former compatriot's status; if they could escape, so could they.
"Could we also leave?"
"Yeah! I want out!"
"M-me too."
Null was also taken aback seeing Ego undertaking a different personality.
"Can I just interrupt for one moment. I don't even know you all. Can I get some introductions at least?"
"Hmm," Ego looked to Null with an almost look of a stranger, "Personified emotions, a neat feat I must say. And from the looks of it, there are some new faces in the mix. I had no idea we could create new life."
"So, these guys are like Rage, right. Doesn't that mean they have to take over you to escape from here? I don't want that! I though he had taken you away from me before, but now you tell me there are others looking to do the same?"
"Oh, Null. How do I even begin to explain it? It's more like I was able to assume control when Rage sought to use me as a conduit. I used the cosmic structure then on instinct and it enlightened me at once."
Null was finally coming around with the explanation as he knew deep down his buddy was in there.
"Okay, now can we start with introductions? I'm really not into the whole mysterious vibe we've got going on."
"You heard him people! With Rage down, I will take in each and every one of you before we leave, but first I believe it's time you formally introduce yourselves to your savior."
"Well, if it worked for that thick headed Rage, I see no reason why we should refuse. This humble one is Acceptance."
The first being that stepped up was a light green being of energy that had no qualms following the lead of Ego and promptly awaited the fusion.
Ego promptly took her hand and took her in like that.
Ego swirled with new color and new insights that changed them while still retaining their figure.
"A worthy emotion. I hope the rest of you come as easily as Acceptance so that I might discover these emotions for my own purpose."
"If it's that simple then count me in," a bright yellow energetic being exclaimed, "Oh! I'm Excitement by the way!"
Excitement gave Ego a big hug before being sucked into their body.
They smiled widely, "A great bundle of joy!"
One by one, the emotions stepped up to join the vessel that would lead them out of It's clutches.
There were the emotions like Joy, Courage, Hope, Love, Wonder, Desire, Sorrow, Curiosity, Guilt, Horror, and Vigilance.
All of the colors of the rainbow were swirling around Ego's body which made for a wondrous sight to behold.
Ego's color almost matched the Rainbow Mane blanket that Null wore, yet their color was brighter than his.
The emotions they were made of surpassed that of simple Rage, yet they were seemingly not as potent as Rage was.
By the time they were finished with the arduous process, Null was checking on Void when he realized that he was now fully operational.
Thanks to Ego, they were elevated to a higher level of power with the addition of so many godlike beings.
"I've never felt so close to the emotion-based energies, Null! I believe I'll finally be able to expose that section of the cosmic structure with the help of these guys so that you'll be a step above what you were capable of before."
Ego fully anticipated that what they gained from the process of absorbing the personified emotions was irreplaceable.
"It would seem so, I mean what better way to learn about greed than from a being of energy fully fueled by Greed itself."
"Yes, the gains we've amassed from these beings is immeasurable. It will no doubt be unprepared against It's own creations."
With the matter of the emotional beings completed, Null and Ego now stood alone in the seemingly endless expanse of It's mind space.
There must have been something wrong with It if It did not notice the intrusion in It's own mind, but Null was not interested in such things at the moment.
"Void is still out of commission for some reason, but there must be a reason he thought he could bring me to It, right?"
"Hmm. We can't be too sure since Void kind of has a mind of his own. But there's been something I can't get out of my head for some time now."
"What is it, bud?"
"Well, if It was trapped in a separate plane, then finding It now would be a terrible thing for us as we are now. I mean seriously, I haven't even had the time to explore the depths of the Cosmic Structure for a decade at this point!"
"You're right, It would have had an immeasurable time spent with It's powers before ending up where It is now. However, I still can't rest easy knowing that Sofina is out there all alone."
"We'll get her back," was all Ego could say.
