Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Battle Between Human and Boar

Dong Yao looked at her daughter, who was like a little tail, feeling somewhat helpless.

She sighed, fumbled for a while at the bedside, then took out two coins and handed them to Shen Qinglan, saying, "Here."

Shen Qinglan got the money and was about to turn and leave when Dong Yao called her again.

Dong Yao held her hand and earnestly instructed, "You can't really go to the town, understand? Wait two days if you want to go, and then go with your father.

Also, don't let your eldest sister know that mom gave you money, or she'll start nagging again."

"Oh!"

Shen Qinglan responded softly, then went back into the house, satisfied with the money.

The next day

Just after dawn, Shen Qinglan went up the mountain alone with a bamboo basket on her back.

She did not linger much on the forest outskirts but headed directly into the depths.

Yesterday, while on the outskirts, she had already observed that the areas were mainly habitats for small animals, while the larger ones should be inside.

Facts proved that her guess was correct.

She had just walked about two hundred meters into the forest depths when she heard a rustle in the grass on one side.

During past life training, she had stayed in the primitive forest for three months and was very familiar with these sounds.

Shen Qinglan stopped, her eyes focused on the direction of the jungle.

Before long, a short-tailed, sharp-eared, robust gray-black big fellow slowly emerged from the jungle.

Shen Qinglan's lips curved slightly, her previously cool expression gaining a touch of excitement.

The wild boar across from her was equally excited.

Both the person and the boar looked at each other as if viewing prey.

What intrigued Shen Qinglan was that the wild boar didn't charge at her directly, but instead showed its tusks, glaring at her fiercely.

Shen Qinglan snorted lightly, thinking that this wild boar seemed a bit smart.

Thus, the person and the boar stood in a standoff, neither making the first move.

As Shen Qinglan was contemplating how to take down the big fellow before her, suddenly, the initially unmoving creature charged towards her wildly.

Shen Qinglan's gaze turned cold, she spun quickly, and instantly sprinted to the side.

The wild boar, seeing her escape, seemed even more excited, its running speed doubling from before.

Shen Qinglan dodged here and there in the forest for quite a while. Upon seeing a slender tree with a trunk only as thick as an adult's arm, she smiled slightly.

She took a running start, then leaped forcefully, her hands instantly grasping the branch firmly.

The tree couldn't bear her weight and soon bent down.

Shen Qinglan tightly held the branch and landed smoothly, then bent it like a bow. As the wild boar lunged forward, she quickly released it.

"Pa—"

The wild boar was hit hard by the branch, rolled a few times on the ground, snorted a few times, then stood up again and targeted Shen Qinglan, charging towards her.

Shen Qinglan swiftly dodged and continued to run wildly through the forest.

The enraged wild boar rampaged through the forest, relentlessly chasing her.

As she ran, Shen Qinglan observed the surroundings. Seeing fragmented mountain rocks nearby, her eyes lit up, and she increased her speed while sprinting forward.

Whether it was her illusion or not, she often felt that since crossing over, her strength seemed much greater than before, her body felt lighter, and her running speed was faster than in her previous life.

As she approached a half-meter high stone, Shen Qinglan tapped her toes on the ground and leaped over it in one go.

The wild boar, rushing too fast to stop, directly crashed into the stone.

Once again knocked to the ground, the wild boar groaned in pain several times.

Seizing the opportunity while it was dizzy, Shen Qinglan quickly grabbed a fist-sized stone and threw it at the wild boar's head. With only a "bang" sound, the wild boar let out a few miserable grunts, toppled to the ground, twitched its limbs a few times, and then stopped moving.
