The Chief looked at Dylan Young's uninterested expression and thought, I ought to beat him up, this brat. Back when I picked him from the Military Academy, all these years later, he's still got that dog-like temper, hasn't changed a bit. If this were a few years ago and I wasn't so old, I'd definitely drag him to the boxing ring and give him a good beating.
That's what he thought, but with his mouth, the Chief used kind words: "Dylan, you've been back for two days. At least come to the office once, okay? Well, let's not talk about this. There's a really urgent mission now. The higher-ups specifically named you for it. No one else will do."
The Chief originally wanted to catch him and give him a good talking to, but with just one cold stare from Dylan, he had to shut up.
Dylan Young looked impatient: "Who are the higher-ups?"
The Chief lowered his voice: "The current Mayor of Ocean City—Anthony Davis."
