The chief continued, "Dylan, think about it. You've offended him now, and once he takes office, won't he want to handle you, along with your wife and kids? Who knows what tricky plans he might have. I've seen him before, outwardly he seems gracious, but his methods, tsk tsk..."
Dylan paused for a moment; he hadn't considered this angle before!
"Someone aiming to be president is really so petty?"
The chief smirked, "Ha... what do you think? The higher up you go, the more narrow-minded they are, even smaller than a needle's hole."
Dylan scrutinized him from top to bottom, "If refusing a mission he arranged is considered offense... then I've surely offended you too. Are you day and night thinking of ways to get back at me?"
The chief nodded, "You got it right, I'm just itching to beat you up right now."
Dylan didn't speak further, seemingly pondering the chief's words.
