Mary Douglas frowned. After a moment of silence, she glanced at the wrist he was gripping. "Let go."
Beau Reed didn't loosen his hold on her.
"Other than this?"
"Mm, right now I'm pretty sick of seeing you. You'd better not show up in front of me for a while."
Beau Reed frowned, was silent for a moment. "How long is 'a while'?"
"No idea."
It might be a few days, it might be a few months, and then as time goes on, he'd probably realize there's no need to be this fixated.
"You think that counts as an answer?"
Mary tugged at the corner of her lips. "Honestly, I don't want to see you for the rest of my life. Can you accept that answer?"
Beau said nothing, his lips pressed into a sharp line.
Mary looked at him and let out a short laugh. "Three months then."
Three more months, until graduation.
That answer made Beau's face sink a few shades darker.
