Chapter 191 - Reaver vs Bian

"...and done!"

Bian wiped off the non-existent sweat from his forehead as the last of the laser beam faded, having carved out the structure intricately from the moon.

Thankfully, he had Mental Pont Targeting and a good memory in general, so he avoided damaging the structure.

As for how to drag it out, there was a method Bian wasn't sure of at all, yet he still had confidence in it.

With a whisk of his hand, he summoned the Altering Brush which had long since recovered to full capacity.

Bian wrote the word 'anchor' on the Black Cruiser.

Then he jumped to the structure which was still partly embedded in the moon and wrote the word 'anchored.'

Since the Altering Brush could change or add on to the characteristics of its target, Bian planned to use this feature to drag the structure away.

Unfortunately, when he fired up the Black Cruiser, it sped off without the structure.

"Why didn't that work?"

Bian was not panicked by the setback. Panicking was just a waste of time and would more often than not lead to errors.

"Maybe the anchor and the anchored need to touch?"

Bian immediately reversed the ship to make contact with the structure, but nothing changed.

'Or perhaps it's the markings that have to touch.'

Using the Altering Brush on inanimate objects allowed it to last longer and consume less ink.

He rewrote both the anchor and anchored sign on both objects in such a way that they could make contact.

Unfortunately, even after trying this, the structure refused to move.

"Did I overestimate its ability?"

Bian looked at the Altering Brush with the gaze of a parent whose brilliant child suddenly failed an examination.

Suddenly he was stunned out of his reverie when a figure dashed out of the shura planet and approached him at lightning speed.

"There was still one Fourth-ranked Shura left?"

Only the Fourth-ranked Shura who were equivalent to human demigods could freely navigate around the vacuum of space.

It was quite unusual for four of them to be on a single planet, who would have expected a fifth!

Bian couldn't retreat, it was quite obvious that he came for the hostages and retreating would put them in danger.

He didn't know if they knew Ral had snitched, so he couldn't wait for the federation to take action either.

He turned the Black Cruiser to face the figure and said with gritted teeth.

"Since it's come down to this, then let's fight!"

His disguise using the Dongxuan Sutra was good, but its rank was too low to conceal him against opponents with fitness around his level.

This was evident since the Altering Brush which is the geno core of the Dongxuan Sutra was still a bronze geno core while Bian had maxed out his Ordinary and Primitive geno points.

He had even acquired about a dozen mutant and sacred geno points each, not to mention the life essence of Black Mountain God slowly being refined in the bronze cauldron.

In other words, Bian wasn't afraid to fight!

He was only apprehensive of gathering too much attention which would bring him troubles in more ways than one.

Bian instructed the Black Cruiser to attack while he opened the hatch and jumped out.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Purple beams were shot at the Reaver but he dodged them one after the other without much effort.

"Just this level~" Just as he was about to run his mouth off, a figure crashed into him from the side sending him flying away with full force.

Today was actually a centennial event for this planet where three of its moons would align in a couple of minutes.

The Reaver was sent hurling into one of those nearby moons.

Thud!

He landed heavily, displacing hundreds of meters of dust and debris.

Bian landed in front of him, wielding a blade as dark as the surrounding space with a red gem embedded in the hilt.

"Ken, a newly evolved demigod. Please enlighten me."

Bian spoke casually and gave a bow, courtesy at least demanded his opponent state his name.

This way he could identify the gold-horned shura in front of him.

"Reaver, the blade that retrieves souls."

Reaver was quite speechless, why was his target being so polite? Surely he wouldn't beg for mercy after ramming him into a planet.

He immediately rid himself of such thoughts.

"Here I come!" That maniacal smile returned to his face and he charged forwards.

Not far away, several ships were discretely approaching the hostages but each one was shot down by the Black Cruiser.

Clang! Clang!! Clang!!!

Sparks flew as sword struck against sword with neither side gaining the upper hand immediately.

Reaver jumped back and flipped the blade in his hand slashing out with the blunt edge.

An extremely fast sword beam was already before Bian in an instant.

Boom!

Although he parried the attack, it actually exploded and Bian felt his internal organs tremble.

Next Reaver flipped the blade and swung out again using the sharp edge, this time the attack was even faster.

Still, the previous attack had put some distance between them.

Bian barely managed to dodge to the side, but this time the attack didn't explode, it left a thousand-meter-long gash on the surface of the moon before flying out.

"So that's how it is," Bian said with some understanding and mobilised his energy ready to respond to his opponent's attacks.

Meanwhile, a warship flew up from the planet taking aim at the hostage bunker.

The Black Cruiser had already shot at it, but this ship actually had a forcefield which ate two of the Cruiser's attacks.

The Black Cruiser was mentally linked to Bian so it warned him about the warship which was about to fire at the bunker.

Bian turned around and summoned the Solum Mirror. It turned into a silver streak of light and flew to the front of the bunker.

"Where do you think you're looking!"

Three sword beams came at Bian simultaneously giving him no chance to dodge.

Not that Bian had any intention to.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

He released three sword beams of his own and the first beams clashed, creating a huge explosion.

The next two neutralised each other and faded without much fanfare.

Reaver's eyes widened in shock.

Meanwhile, another purple beam landed on the forcefield of the warship finally destroying its forcefield but the warship also shot out its own terrifying space laser at the bunker.

The people inside only felt the environment shake and had no clue they were on the edge of extinction.

Just as the beam was about to strike, a silver light appeared in front of the bunker revealing itself to be a Mirror.

The building-sized beam hit the 'small' mirror and surprisingly couldn't damage it or go around it.

[Retaliation: 22/300]

[Retaliation: 179/300]

...

[Retaliation: 300/300]

In a few seconds the Retaliation counter was filled to the brim, but the ship had no intention of stopping.

Instead, the Retaliation counter on the Solum Mirror experienced a change.

[Over the Retaliation: 378 /300]

[Over the Retaliation: 459 /300]

[Over the Retaliation: 684 /300]

By the time the warship stopped firing, the silver Solum Mirror had turned red-hot and was constantly vibrating.

[Over the Retaliation: 1070 /300]

Bian who was fighting, suddenly paused in his track and actually spat out a mouthful of blood.

The energy in the mirror couldn't be held for a second longer!

"OVER THE RETALIATION!"

Bian shouted out loud and the silver surface of the Solum Mirror turned to pure white light, shining brighter than the mid-day sun.

A rectangular beam of incandescent scorching doom was shot out from the mirror, penetrating the warship and then blasting out a portion of the planet behind it.

Reaver naturally didn't let go of Bian's momentary lapse and charged at him.

Bian only slightly deflected the blade, causing it to graze his shoulder and bring him and Reaver face to... chest?

No way, the shura were too bulky!

Still, Bian had achieved his intended result.

With a loud yell, he planted a foot on Reaver's chest and kicked him into the air.

The Solum Mirror didn't just release the beam in a straight line but turned to where Bian and Reaver were fighting.

Reaver's expression turned ugly as his slender frame instantly swelled to three times his size.

"Shura change! Divine Penance!"

At this critical juncture of life and death, his power suddenly multiplied and even Bian felt threatened by his display.

The Divine Penance collided against the annihilating beam of the Solum Mirror pushing it back for a bit before it surged forward again.

Reaver yelled out loud, releasing hundreds of sword beams in an attempt to block the attack.

Silver Solum Mirror

[Over the Retaliation: 0 / 300]

In the next moment, the beam faded and the distant explosion of the warship could be seen.

The duration of the Solum Mirror's attack, Over the Retaliation, was only five seconds.

Before Reaver could catch his breath, Bian was already above him swinging down his sword to chop him in half.

The attack was too swift and unexpected giving Reaver no time to dodge or raise his weapon in defense.
