Chapter 166 - chapter-165

"So you've already captured the other eight jinchūriki?" Naruto questioned, causing Hidan to smile mockingly.

"The one-, two-, three-, and four-tailed beasts have already been captured... Now that I remember, didn't you know Kumo's bitch, the two-tailed jinchūriki?" Smiling darkly, the silver-haired man tightened his grip on his weapon, slightly cutting the teenager, who remained motionless.

"So Yugito was killed... by you?" he whispered in a cold, dry voice, turning his head and giving Hidan a piercing look.

"Yes, we went after her a few weeks ago. I remember her very well. The damned woman left the village on a reconnaissance mission due to a certain incident involving the massacre of a small town in the Land of Lightning. It was easy to lure her to us." Still smiling, Hidan had a gleam of euphoria in his eyes. "We ambushed her, and well… I would have liked to complete my ritual with her, but we needed her alive to extract the tailed beast. It was three days of watching her agonize as we extracted every last drop of her two-tailed beast's chakra. The bitch was tough… and beautiful, didn't you—"

The devoted follower of Jashin couldn't continue speaking as a hand closed around his neck. Smiling, the silver-haired man saw the Uzumaki's red eyes and his bubbling red aura, which formed three tails behind him. "..." With a look of pure hatred, Naruto dug his claws into his enemy's neck, drawing blood. Just as Hidan's head was about to be severed from his body, Naruto received a powerful blow to the center of his chest that sent him flying several meters and crashing into the trees.

"This world has made you distracted, brat." Kakuzu just stood there, watching as the tailed beast's chakra left the teenager's body. Naruto slowly got to his feet and, in frustration, saw a sheet of paper stuck to his chest, where a complex system of seals now spread across him. "You must recognize it. It's a seal created by your clan, after all. Even for someone like you, it would take hours to break it. We've already cut off your access to the Kyūbi's chakra, making this easier for us."

"..." In silence, Naruto could only stand and look at the immortal duo.

"Once we have both parts of the Kyūbi, the plan will be complete..."

"What?" A deep feeling of fear filled the Uzumaki as he looked at Kakuzu in panic, who only smiled beneath his mask.

"Did you really think that the secret of your sister possessing a part of the Nine-Tails would never come to light?"

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" Cursing in his mind, Naruto breathed heavily, leaning against a tree and feeling the effects of being deprived of his host's chakra. But now he could only think of his younger sister. How had the secret come to light? He had thought it would take several more years before she even learned about the part of the Kyūbi sealed inside her.

"Tell me, brat... How long do you think it's been since you've been in this world?" Kakuzu asked with amusement, watching the teenager's worried and panicked expression. "Do you know what's happened to Konoha? To your family? Everything that happened in the Elemental Nations when you turned your back on them?" Each question felt like a stab to Naruto, who stood alone, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. He was close to hyperventilating. "Do you want to know how much you've lost?" With that question, the truth was revealed, and Uzumaki Naruto's world crumbled to pieces.

...…

On the other side of the forest, at the camp, almost all the students had already gathered, and it was safe to say that those who arrived would never have expected to see some of the country's greatest heroes defeated or dead. Several students from Class B had gathered around their teacher's body, his chest ripped open and fresh blood staining the ground.

"..." Among the students was a somber Shinzo, who slowly knelt beside his sensei, his hands trembling, and closed the eyes of the pro hero, which had remained open even after his death.

"Sensei-i..." Obviously, some were not as tough as the purple-haired boy, as Itsuki was crying inconsolably while looking at the man who had trained and taught them for almost six months. He had given his life just to give them enough time for help to arrive.

"Hhhhmmm..." Another of the students was Pony, who was being hugged by one of her friends, who was trying her best to calm her down, but the little blonde girl just cried and gave muffled screams into her companion's chest.

"..." Yui Kodai, being the coldest in her class, was kneeling beside Shinzo, silently shedding a few tears with an expression of deep pain. Slowly, she took off her jacket to cover the horrible wound on her sensei's chest.

"I'm going to kill him..." The students of Class B had to look at a rigid Tetsutetsu, whose Quirk was active and who was trembling uncontrollably as he fought back tears, but the fury and hatred in his eyes were noticeable to everyone. "I'm going to find that son of a bitch and kill him!" His furious cry was heard by everyone. "He didn't deserve this! He didn't deserve it!" Clenching his fists, he wept in despair, thinking only of going into the forest to find that villain and do to him what he had done to his teacher.

But before he could do anything, he was caught in Itsuki's arms as she hugged her companion tightly. He instantly stopped trembling and glared furiously at the orange-haired girl, who shook her head with a distressed expression. "That's not what he would have wanted..." she whispered softly, calming the metallic teenager. "Don't tarnish his memory with desires for revenge..." Holding her companion tightly, she finally made him break down and return the hug, crying on her shoulder and releasing all his pain.

Near them, Mirko, Pixie-bob, Mt. Lady, and Ryukyu had returned to the world of the living , although they could only remain awake since they were still too injured to go in search of the remaining villains who might still be wandering around the forest. At least they had Magne and Spinner tied up, but as for N° XXV, she was still lying motionless on the ground.

"Reinforcements will arrive in a few minutes..." reported a somber Mandalay, who covered Tiger's body with a blanket. The students had already suffered too much to be allowed to see the state of the deceased hero.

"Good." Near her was Aizawa, who was being helped by Kirishima to stand. The hero was pale from blood loss caused by the wounds on his torso, which were now covered by bandages provided by his students, who had returned to the camp to get the first-aid packs.

"Momo-chan, are you alright?" Ochako, who had arrived only a few minutes ago with Izuku, was met with a desolate scene, with students from both classes distressed and the pro heroes somber. The brunette had to approach Momo when she saw her sitting on the ground, hugging her legs to her body and hiding her face. "Momo-chan, are you alright?" she asked once more, thinking that perhaps she hadn't been heard the first time.

"No, I'm not." Ochako became even more worried by the answer, which came out as an empty, dry whisper.

"Sensei... Where is Sensei?" Deku, who was being treated by Mina as she bandaged his injured arms more securely, realized that his teacher was not among those present, and just mentioning it caught everyone's attention.

"Where do you think he is? With those responsible for this." Standing beside his teacher's corpse, Monoma rose furiously and glared at Midoriya, who had gotten to his feet.

"What do you mean?"

"Uzumaki is a traitor who is now with the enemy, that's what I mean." The venom in the Class B blond's words drew Izuku's fury as he glared at Monoma.

"Watch your words." Before Deku could say anything, he was interrupted by Shiori, who gave the conceited Class B student a dangerous look.

"No! You watch yourself!" In a burst of anger, Monoma stood up and walked straight toward Shiori, standing face-to-face with her. "Those two monsters came for him, and look what happened. Our teacher is dead..."

"He didn't kill him," the Todoroki girl stated dryly, not hesitating to defend her platonic love.

"And he wasn't here to stop it either. Very convenient, don't you think?" That question only increased Todoroki's fury. She grabbed the arrogant blond's jacket tightly and glared at him with uncontrollable rage, her left hand covered in flames as if tempting her to burn the annoying boy's mouth.

"That's enough!" Unexpectedly, they were separated by Mt. Lady, who pushed both students away from each other. "This isn't the time to fight among ourselves... Do you know if anyone else besides Naruto is missing from the students?" she asked, looking around and silently praying that all the students were present.

"Sensei! Shiozaki Ibara isn't here!"

"Shit…"

While they continued arguing, they failed to notice that, near the crater left by the Class A shinobi, XXV's body slowly began to move as she stood up.
