Thomas Shannon lit a cigarette, watching her from afar as she hugged the tombstone, her back to him, not knowing what she was saying to her Daddy and Mommy.
Taking a deep drag, he slightly tilted his head back, gazing at the vast and expansive sky.
Would she say bad things about him to her in-laws?
Sophie Sullivan stayed in front of the tombstone for over an hour, until her legs went numb, and she uncomfortably clenched her rosy fists, pounding on her legs.
Thomas Shannon saw this and walked swiftly over, carefully helping her up, "Are your legs numb?"
"Yes." Sophie Sullivan kept her head down, her voice muffled, carrying a heavy nasal tone.
Thomas Shannon didn't look at her, squatting down on his own, massaging her legs.
Sophie Sullivan pursed her lips, "Thomas Shannon, stop being attentive in front of my Daddy and Mommy, they can see from the sky how you used to bully me."
"That was so long ago, why bring it up?"
