"Whirling snow!" Ayaka said, as a snowflake symbol appeared on the ground and dealt damage against the Abyss Mages around her. An elemental reaction between cryo and electro occurred that cause the mages' shield to break. Without wasting any time, she unleashed a flurry of slashes (Kamisato Art - Kabuki) that instantly defeated the mages.
Ayaka stopped, and watched as her home gets burned and destroyed while the fight against the Abyss ensues. Even with the help of the Doushins, their forces aren't enough to defeat the Abyss Mages and their Rifthounds. She doesn't know how and why the Abyss Order has chosen to attack the Kamisato Estate, but she knows that someone planned the attack during the time his brother, Commissioner Ayato, is not home.
"Everyone, retreat! Proceed to Mt. Yougou, and seek shelter from the Grand Narukami Shrine!" Ayaka announced. Heeding her call, the remaining Doushins used their strength to fend off the Rifthounds while the ninjas of the Shuumatsuban helped the injured escape from the Kamisato Estate.
The air around Ayaka's mouth felt cold, as she inhaled sharply before sprinting (Kamisato Art - Senho) from Abyss Mage to Abyss Mage. She instantly defeat them using her cryo-infused sword.
Ayaka turned her attention towards the 2 Rifthounds before her. They let out a loud growl that made everyone in the estate look at the young lady of the Yashiro Commission. Ayaka inhaled deeply, causing the temperature around her to drop. The snouts of the Rifthounds are inches away from her small body when she let out a powerful elemental attack using her sword.
"Sakura swirl!" she said, as she released a powerful blizzard that pushes the Rifthounds down the cliff.
"The evacuation is already complete. We need to go," Thoma said to her. A portion of the estate's roof suddenly exploded, and a huge debris is directed towards their direction. The vision on Thoma's waist glowed bright red, as he conjured a shield to protect them from the debris. "The estate won't hold much longer, milady."
Ayaka nodded. She may be good at hiding her fatigue to other people, but Thoma sees right through her. He strapped his spear on his back, and held her at her waist. in order to support her.
Thoma knows that the fight fully exhausted Ayaka. The stamina it takes for her to quickly slash her enemies, and the elemental power she is forced to expel to defeat the Rifthounds are way above the average amount she can handle.
"Almost there, milady. We'll be safe once we—" The ground violently shook, as the cracks on the wall that surrounds the estate grew bigger and deeper.
Ayaka's instinct fired up in a quick second, and quickly removed him from her body. "You're always been a good brother to me," she said, pushing him out the Kamisato estate just in time before the the entire wall collapsed, blocking the only way out.
"No! Milady!" Outside the estate, Thoma is helplessly removing rock after rock, hoping to create a way out for Ayaka. Tears fall down on the young housekeeper's cheeks, as he failed to protect the estate and his... sister.
Inside the estate, the atmosphere had gone electric, as pieces of debris floated towards the middle of the ruined courtyard, forming a humanoid figure. Ayaka controlled her breathing, as she summoned every last bit of her stamina. Her instincts tell her that who or whatever the figure is in front of her, it would certainly spell her doom.
She sprinted towards the humanoid figure, and was about to slash at its neck when suddenly it suddenly grabbed her arm. Up close, Ayaka observed that the figure in front of her wore clothing and symbols that reminiscent to what the Traveler used to describe in his letters about his adventures. She remembered that he used the word 'Khaenri'ahn.'
"Let me go!" Ayaka squirmed and struggled to remove her arm from the Abyss Lector's grip. It tightens its grip more, causing Ayaka to let go of her sword involuntarily.
"Kamisato Ayaka, you are chosen to be Orobashi's Divine Priestess. You will be the embodiment of Watatsumi's will. Thus, you'll have the power to resurrect our fallen god," the Abyss Lector said with its echoed voice.
"Inazuma already has a god, and she surely will defeat yours again!" The Raiden Shogun once butted heads with the serpent god, Orobashi, that results to (pun intended) the latter's decapitation (loss of head). Now, the remains of Orobashi is located in Yashiori Island.
"Who says about conquering Inazuma?" the Abyss Lector responded. Suddenly, the collapsed wall of the estate burst open with a sound similar of a waterfall cacophonously hitting a bed of rocks.
"Brother!" Ayaka exclaimed, as Kamisato Ayato stood at the entrance filled with rage. The Abyss Lector lifted Ayaka up, and released her mid-air. However, she did not fall, but simply hovered over the ground while thick black threads wrapped around her body to prevent her from fleeing.
"Let go of my sister!" Kamisato Ayato commanded, pointing his blue sword towards the enemy. Without waiting for a response, he summoned a small lotus in the middle of the courtyard to trigger his Suiyuu art. Then, he quickly created dozens of illusions using his Kyouka art.
"Cascade!" he said, as all of his illusions started to unleash water blades (Shunsuiken) towards the Abyss Lector's direction.
When the smoke cleared after the attack, the Abyss Lector remained uninjured. "Apologies, Commissioner Kamisato. I cannot give you back your sister. As there were 2 Electro Archons, the title of Divine Priestess may be split as well. I have lots of plans for our lady Shirasagi Himegimi. After all, she is going to enact the will of Orobashi for Watatsumi's sake."
A huge orb of pyro energy appeared above the Kamisato estate. "That won't intimidate me," Ayato said while in a sprinting position. His blade glowed bright blue, as if it was dipped into the sea. He was about to release the sharpest water blade, enough to cut a Nobuki's armor, when suddenly the Abyss Lector's attack changed directions— from him, it is now directed at the people of the Yashiro commission behind him.
"Brother, don't worry about me! Save them!" Ayaka pleaded, as a huge fireball flew towards Thoma and the others. Ayato gritted his teeth, as he turned around and released his elemental power towards the fireball, just before it made contact with his people.
After making sure everyone was alright, Ayato turned his attention again to the Abyss Lector. His stomach turned upside down when he saw his sister getting carried away by the Abyss Lector through an abyssal portal.
He sheathed his sword, and used all of his strength to increase his speed, hoping to sneak through the portal. However, it isn't enough, as the portal closes just before his hand could reach it.
