She opened her eyes blankly, but saw only a blurred shadow. In her mind, she replayed the scene of the explosion over and over, her body trembling uncontrollably.
"I need to find him..." she said in a weak voice, whispering, "He's on the boat, he's still waiting for me..."
He furrowed his brows slightly and glanced behind him. The explosion was over, and the massive yacht had split in half, leaving countless casualties inside.
He held her in his arms, took a gentle breath, and said to her, "I'm okay. I wasn't on the boat."
Norris lifted her head, forcing her eyes open to look at him, but her vision seemed veiled by a layer of gauze, making it impossible to see clearly. She lowered her head, buried in his arms, inhaling the familiar scent amidst the smell of gunpowder.
Her entire body shook violently, trembling as she reached out to tightly grasp his clothes, like she was using every ounce of her strength to hold onto his arm, and then with a cry, she burst into tears.
