Norris Moore's face was equally grim. "If it weren't for Aldana, do you think I'd care whether you live or die? You're Aldana's partner, so of course I'd be a little worried about you. Isn't that perfectly normal?"
Eric Candi fixed her with a cold stare for a moment, then, like a deflated balloon, turned his head away and stopped looking at her.
Norris stood before him, tilting her head curiously, and asked, "Why did you come looking for me today?"
"..."
"Say something."
"I thought you might know something, but clearly I was wrong—you're so clueless, you don't know a damn thing."
Being inexplicably taunted like that, Norris felt her anger boiling over. She snapped back furiously, "I don't know anything! But I chased after you because I was worried! If you weren't Aldana's friend, do you think I'd waste my time questioning every little thing about you?"
Eric took a deep, irritated breath. "Norris Moore, move aside."
She stood there, not budging.
