Benjamin Barker looked at Alice Smith with a somewhat apologetic gaze, but he understood his mother's temperament very well, knowing that the more he tried to persuade, the less likely his mother would let it go.
Faced with his gaze, Alice Smith didn't respond, nor did she intend to argue with the grown lady further, instead she spoke calmly, "If you're done talking, could you please move aside?"
The grown lady was momentarily stunned, then immediately said again, "I'm telling you, don't think you can just leave like this! You've deliberately seduced my son, tried to ruin his family! Unless you promise here and now, in front of everyone, that you'll never appear before my son again, I won't let you go!"
Alice Smith's eyebrows furrowed again. Though she generally had a nice temperament, looking at the woman in front of her who was being unreasonable, she truly couldn't find any joy.
