Chapter 15 - reunited friends from another lifetime

True friends never abandon you, never move on to get another life. Soulmates, are one, and separation crossing the mind of those who are together are a sign of the ingenuine.

You have to first learn to love yourself before you start loving someone else, it's easy to love someone else to avoid the confusing that is confronting yourself.

However, when all that confusion is gone and all your left with is the things you observe as happening to you, isn't it natural to assume a person you've encountered to be included in those happenings?

Some would say selfish, but are they the soulmates? No, they doubt on behalf of their own lack of experience with a genuine connection.

So, what do you do when the miracle of an undeniable soulmate connection is established, you spend a lifetime with each other and nothing wrong ever happens, but you and however many of these genuine connections are forced to be separated?

That isn't their fault, neither yours, but an inevitablity.

Some would say that if it wasn't for these forced separations, turning our backs on each other and to do the exact same things I said would be impossible to cross our minds - of intended separation, would also then be inevitable.

I just don't want to believe it, and I want to prove to reality itself that soulmates live happily forever after.

Forever is a long time, and just as anything is possible, that includes both the good and the bad.

If Reincarnation is real, then what friends did I have that I have been forced to separate from in death?

Would I be able to see them again? How would I even know it's them if I'm an entirely different person at this point?

It's hard making new friends, it'd just be easier if happened to already have some, but… I guess reality isn't as lucky as I would wish it to be.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Chisa. Are you also a new recruit?"

I have finally aquired my dream job as the role of game designer. I was sent to my workstation with a duel monitor setup and ergonomic seating. Beside me is one other junior who was also recruited for the first project as a new wave of fresh hires.

"Oh, yes. I was sitting in the back as the director was giving the lecture. My name is Zack.", I respond to her.

"I'm very excited to get started with this new life, hopefully getting used to the new schedule of things won't take too long to get used to."

"I get what you mean. Back in school I would always get embarrassed from making mistakes early on. I guess having started other lifestyles before, I don't think it'll be as bad. I doubt they expect from us juniors to have the same expertise as seniors anyways."

"Hey, that makes a lot of sense. Wow, you think think."

"I am a designer."

"What type? I am too."

"Narrative."

"Oh nice, I'm a level designer."

I don't know why, but I never get used to people who have a friendly attitude during first encounters. I of course reciprocate, so I can't complain, but I feel like a more honest first impression would be more something like working quietly and then slowly becoming aquatinted, instead of having a specific meeting just for establishing an introduction.

It really takes away the chance for anything special if you learn everything about the person in a single conversation.

Also, I've done this conversation in my head already. As a narrative designer, I anticipated the day I would get into the industry as this role and daydreams about how the new lifestyle would go, so just like how figuring everything out during a single conversation, I sort of already preempted the entire career I would live before even having a single day's experience.

It… does take the specialness out of the situation, which is rather disappointing, I wonder if I could just forget about it so that way I can experience this real first time for what it is and feel special.
