"Darren, can we not get a divorce? I will change, I really will. Can you give me a chance?"
Darren Heath heard Lady Octavia's almost humble plea, a trace of pity evident in his eyes, along with several seconds of hesitation.
But in the end, he made up his mind: "I've decided, let's get a divorce."
"Darren, why?" Lady Octavia burst into tears, "Is it because of what happened with Stacy? I know I was wrong, and I will never do it again. I never thought of divorcing you. When I married you, it meant I would be your wife for life. I don't want a divorce."
Darren Heath had spoiled Lady Octavia for over twenty years.
As he listened to Lady Octavia sobbing on the phone, his heart felt as if it was being torn apart.
However, he steeled himself and said: "Octavia, I called you to tell you my decision. I've decided to divorce, and I won't change my mind. After this call, I will have a lawyer handle the divorce. If you have any requests, you can bring them up now."
